Henry is very shy, it will take some time for him to adjust, he loves other dogs, and is cautious of humans. He loves playing as long as there is a playmate for him, once he is with you for awhile he will start being curious and you can at that point use toys to lure him closer. Henry came in with another dog that was completely opposite and has seen been adopted out. You can pick him up with no issues. He does not run from you, just freezes. He filches at touch at first, but will relax if gently petted. He is a great playful dog who just needs time and patience. Henry must have a playmate or a dog to follow. A Physical secure fence is required. He will look for a way out in the beginning, then once he adjust he will stop. He is a flight risk and will bolt if given the opportunity. . He continues to make progress and is ready to find his forever patient home. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. This precious little boy came from a rough situation and is looking for love wherever he can find it! He is in our DASH Prison Training Program where he will learn his manners and basic commands like sit, stay and down so he can have a good foundation to continue his good boy training in his new home. He was underweight, so was being free fed for a while but is in much better condition now! He is very affectionate and craves attention from humans. His trainer said he can even tell when someone is upset and tries to cheer you up. Oakley is around other dogs, but he doesn't do well with the bigger dogs that try to bully him so he would do best in a home with smaller dogs or being the only dog. He is housetrained, doesn't complain in his crate and walks well on a leash. Of course, he will need to continue support while he acclimates to his new home and surroundings. He has not been cat or kid tested so proper introductions to the youngsters is in order. He is lazy, relaxed and just wants to be loved, Are you his soulmate and cuddle buddy? I am a nice older guy that had to move from my home. I am now in a foster home which took me a few days to get used to, but now things are fine. I even have another dog to play with even though she is just a tad annoying. I am alomost 9 years old and right now I weigh in at 25 lbs. I am a kind gentle soul that would like a quiet home to rest my bones. Well, not too much rest. I love to go on walks and play with my toys.
