Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE go to our website www.collarofhope.org to read all information about our puppies, rescue, adoption process and to submit our adoption application.  All of our information does not transfer to the adoption sites. Before completing our adoption application, please consider the following: Is someone home to raise and train a puppy? Do you have a securely fenced yard for the puppy? Can you give a puppy a 15ish year commitment? Kevin came to us with his Mom and Sister after they were taken by a shelter from a family who had too many animals allowed where they live.  They were 6 months old and didn't have any training.   Kevin doesn't look like his Mom or Sister as they are both scruffy terriers.  He looks like a corgi mix in person and even looks like a husky in some photos (not likely due to his small size and his mama's size).  He is lovable and fun once he's acclimated to a new place.  He was very shy when he arrived.  A securely fenced yard is a must for him.  His new family needs to continue to work on leash training and potty training.  He's finally starting to do pretty good with potty crate training.  He can be barky if he needs to go out, it's feeding time or there's excitement around him.  He's otherwise quiet.   Who's ready for Kevin in their life?   Our puppies are or will be neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated age appropriate (they will need additional vaccines), de-wormed and parasite treated/prevented throughout their time with CoH as a foster puppy.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:00 pm

Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 17 lives of mums, dads & puppies including Ernie & his siblings. His sister Missy was already adopted & Ernie is with Burt his brother who he is fostered with. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Ernie how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Ernie & his friends & siblings were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. In the corgi world of puppies, Ernie is such a gentle, sweet, goes with the flow aloof little guy just as his brother is Burt. We have rescued many corgi’s & puppies but both of these little gents are so sweet & easy their foster family said. Don’t get us wrong, Ernie just as his brother Burt has his spurts of energy where he will run & play & be very goofy. Ernie is the smaller one of the brothers. When you pick up Ernie he snuggles into your neck & will just stay there until you move him to show him around to see what’s going on. This little chap is now loving life in his foster home. He now knows what toys are & loves playing with his toys. He has been learning to go potty on material potty pads. At first he did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in his devoted foster home. He absolutely loves his foster siblings & brother. He is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little chap. He really enjoys snuggling with you & we know he adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. He adores being kissed & hugged by his foster family & being a free spirit doing his own thing. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. Ernie is a wonderful eater & we know that he is obsessed with food with the amount of weight he has put on in his loving foster home with the good nutrition he is getting. He eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & is on supplements. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He currently sleeps with his brother Ernie as they are fostered together & you will find them snuggled up together their foster mum said. He absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & will snuggle up with you in your nook. He is such a very innocent puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He loves everyone & is so very sweet. He is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. He is a puppy & we have not taken him out anywhere. He still needs to learn his puppy manners. Ernie rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he went to be sold & when we got him & going home & to & from the vets with us & his loving foster home. But he does absolutely amazing in the. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. Ernie as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Ernie where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Ernie is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Ernie has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & he is currently with his sibling in his foster home. He will be found snuggled up with his foster siblings. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for him to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Ernie is roughly 11 lbs & he is roughly 8 months old & ‭a pembroke corgi‬. He has put on a lot of weight since being in the rescue in his foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure. We treated him for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies. Male, he is neutered by our wonderful vets, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis & dewormed. We did a fecal on him as he was a poop eater & tested positive for giradia so we treated him for girder. We have spent far more on Ernie with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. Ernie has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had him around small children & he adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Ernie was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Ernie’s friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Ernie potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Ernie & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Ernie who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Ernie. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Ernie has an adoption fee of $1650 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

This sweetheart has had to learn everything of course & she is beginning to flourish in her foster home & has taught herself to go up & down the stairs. At first of course she had no clue but she is learning. Her foster mum said she is curious but not an adventurous girl. She has now learnt to walk on a harness & leash & goes for walks with her corgi friend & considering this has all been taught in a week she is flourishing & such a smart girl. So very easy going & a free spirit. She deserves to be so very loved. This little lady is now loving life in her foster home. Her foster mum said, they went out for dinner & to the beach & she did amazing. She took a nap while they had dinner & enjoyed the beach. She also said she is a very calm corgi girl. Margaret is such a sweetheart & deserves to be loved. We have moved Margaret to another foster home & she absolutely loves the dogs in her foster home & will play with them & run & chase them. She loves to play with puppies too. Margret eats a clean diet in her foster home meaning she eats raw proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains & supplements. David is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Update: David was adopted for less than 24 hours when we got the very devastated call from his adopters that their job situation had changed along with their landlord’s decision regarding dogs in the apartment. The home is absolutely devastated & love him so much but feel as though the best dog in the world deserves more. David has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & we tested him in a daycare & he is currently with dogs in his loving foster home. But he could be the only dog in the home as long as he gets all the attention. David is roughly 24.4 lbs & he is roughly 21 months old & ‭a ‬pembroke corgi. Male, he was neutered by laser & is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, rabies & dewormed. He arrived with multiple wounds on him inside his thighs, testicles, bottom & outside of his hip. We don’t know if he was picked on with the breeder or what was going on? We tested him in a daycare environment & he did well with countless breeds of dogs, with men & women. We know he adores being picked up & held & doesn’t mind it at all. He adores being kissed & hugged. His foster mum & dad said you don’t even know he is here. He can be found laying with his foster siblings or just hanging out taking it all in. This boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his beautiful body. We felt as though when he went into his foster home he relaxed & knew he could finally sleep in peace. But he could be the only dog in the home as long as he gets all the attention. Patrick is roughly 22.8 lbs & he is roughly 3 years old & ‭a ‬pembroke corgi. Male, he was neutered by laser & is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, rabies & dewormed. On antibiotics for the old wounds which are healing nicely & almost gone. He was treated for dry eye & conjunctivitis & gets meds twice daily for dry eye & will come with a bottle. He received a dental scale & polish. We have spent far more on Patrick with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing him to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Patrick has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Patrick was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Patrick’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Patrick potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Patrick & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. We will only be accepting applications for Patrick who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Patrick. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Patrick has an adoption fee of $1585 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
