Meet Trio! Trio is a sweet boy, 4 years old, weighing about 11 lbs. Trio is a dachshund and chihuahua mix. At one time in Trio's life, he was attacked by a big dog and had to have his right rear leg amputated but that hasn't slowed him down one bit. He runs circles at high speed in the yard playing with the other foster dogs at his foster home. He does get along with other dogs. He loves walks and going for rides in the car. Jack is approximately 5 years of age and weighs in at 11 lbs. He is a Chiweenie, Dachshund Chihuahua mix (according to his DNA test). Jack has a story to tell! He was hit by a car on Halloween night, 2024 and was left in a box on the side of the road. A good Samaritan found him and our rescue took him in. He had severe injuries and required surgery where pins and wires on his right elbow were required. His left shoulder sustained extensive nerve damage, and on December 26, 2024, his left leg had to be amputated. Having three legs has not stopped Jack from being a spunky little guy - dogs are so resilient!!! Jack currently resides in a foster home with 4 dogs and several cats. He is a quiet, loving, lap dog. He loves being close to his humans, if you sit down, he is right there jumping into your lap. He enjoys going for walks and riding in the dog stroller observing his surroundings. He enjoys playing fetch with his squeaky toys! Jack gets along well with his foster canine siblings. He would thrive better as an only dog or, with proper introduction, he would do well with another small dog closer to his size. Jacks foster is retired so he is rarely home alone. A home with a secure yard would be perfect for him. An adult only home or a household with older children is the best fit for him. He does have difficulty with stairs. He is doing well with housetraining. He is low shedding. Jack is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped. A meet and greet can be arranged with an approved adoption application. Raffi was living a lonely life on the streets and was so scared when he was rescued by Hope For Paws Rescue. They chased him for quite some time before they were finally able to catch him. We teamed up with Hope For Paws to help find Raffi his forever home. Raffi is shy with people he does not know but warms up once he gets to know you and feels safe. It does take him time to come out of his shell so he will need someone who is patient. He has limited hearing but he can hear louder sounds. He will need an experienced owner as he needs guidance and someone to build his confidence. Raffi loves other dogs and he will need a home with another confident dog that he can watch and learn from. He is good with cats too. He will need a calm household where he is not left for long hours and no young children but calm older children are okay. Raffi loves to go on walks and rides well in the car. Raffi is about 8-9 years old and weighs 9 pounds. In September 2021, Raffi was diagnosed with a mild heart murmur caused by early stage mitral valve disease. He was seen by a cardiologist in late September 2021 and again in for a recheck in June 2022 where he got an echocardiogram. He does not need any medication or treatment at this time but will need annual check-ups with a cardiologist to monitor his heart. Raffi is also fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, flea/heartworm treated. And Raffi just had a full vet exam, senior blood panel with thyroid test, urinalysis, heartworm test, fecal test, dental cleaning, mouth x-rays and chest x-rays in September 2022 so he should not need any vetting at this time. If you are serious about adopting Raffi and have a vet near you willing to work with our rescue, we will cover his vetting and cardiology. Or you can take him to our vet in the Los Angeles area for his vetting and cardiology needs.

Cali is 3 years old and a very loving dog. She enjoys cuddling and playing fetch! She is very smart and playful. Cali has been such a blessing to me and it breaks my heart to have to rehome her due to me having a baby soon. If I had the space to keep her, I would. She is usually anxious and quiet around other dogs at the pet hotel. She's never been aggressive towards other animals and definitely not towards people. Children love her. Cali needs an owner with time to play with her and space for her. She is a house dog and is house trained.

Colonel Sanders “Sandy“ is a 3 year old sweet neutered male Doxie Mix who was found living at a KFC for over a month before a fellow rescuer rescued him and brought him to Lovejoy. He is a happy, healthy boy who has a gentle temperament and is good with other dogs We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood.
