Story
Benjamin "Benny" is a Dachshund mix.  His vet estimated birth date is Feb. 2017 and he weighs a little over 15 pounds.  Benny is an excellent car rider and likes to feel the breeze from the windows.  He loves going for walks and does very well on a leash.  He gets along well with other dogs and would also do well as the only dog.  He loves to snuggle and get belly rubs.  He can be the typical Dachshund but learns boundaries quickly.   ~Adoption donation $300 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Visit www.ruffloverescue.com/adoption and fill out an application to make this pup a member of your family March 14, 2025, 12:25 pm

OLLIE WILL NOT BE ADOPTED SEPERATELY - HE"S BONDED TO MOMO Momo and OllieFostered in Wake ForestBonded Pair – Will only be adopted together. Introducing the dynamic duo: Momo and Ollie. With these two, you get the perfect mix of goofiness and laid back – it’s like having your very own comedy duo. And with these guys, you truly have the best of both worlds. Ollie – The Social ButterflyOllie is 7 years old, and 16 pounds. He is outgoing, friendly, and the life of the party. His dream job? Probably as a Walmart greeter, because he’s always ready to welcome you with open paws. If there’s a lap available, Ollie’s on it faster than you can say “treat!” He’s the kind of dog who will shower you with love and be your cuddle buddy for life. Momo – The Mysterious GentlemanMomo 8 years old and 24 pounds. He is the cool, independent type. This adorable dude likes to take his time and assess the situation, but once he’s comfortable, he’ll show you his sweet side and wag that adorable tail like it’s his full-time job. Bonus: his underbite is so cute, it could be a meme. He’s got a shifty look about it him, if we were naming him, he would be Capone. But it’s all an act, he’s a love bug. They’re house-trained with a good schedule, crate-trained, and get along well with other dogs. They’d be a great match for a working family with kids over 5. Both dogs are on a diet to find their six pack abs and their new family will need to keep up their hard work with diet and exercise. Their new family will need to drive to the Raleigh area to adopt – no transports. We prefer to adopt to families in NC, VA, SC, eastern TN, DC area, Southern MD, VA, and northern GA. They’re up-to-date on everything (bloodwork, dentals, vaccinations), neutered, and heartworm negative. To get the adoption process started, fill out an application at www.doxiebyproxy.org/application Together, they’re the perfect mix – Ollie will greet you with enthusiasm, and Momo will give you all the heartwarming moments you didn’t know you needed. ##2282545##

Story
Finn14 years oldFostered in Raleigh18 poundsShort version: Loves his person, good with dogs and cats, needs quiet house without a big dog pack, apartment friendly, heart murmurFinn is the perfect dapper gentleman with a heart full of love. This handsome, dignified 14-year-old pup, who landed in our care after his owner passed away, is truly a total love bug. Despite his age, Finn hasn’t gotten the memo that he’s a senior. Check out the video of him playing in the comments. He is absolutely in love with his foster mom. He follows her around from room to room - even the bathroom. And loves to press his body as close to her as possible when sitting in the couch. He loves to play with his favorite toy, his wooly mammoth, and enjoys exploring his surroundings like a young pup. He gets along fabulously with both dogs and cats, making him a delightful companion in any home.Finn is also the ideal apartment mate — he’s as quiet as a whisper, never barking and always respectful. He’s housetrained and will politely ask to go outside when nature calls, making him a well-mannered resident. Finn thrives in a quiet, peaceful environment, where he can relax, play with his toys, and enjoy the comforts of being a well-loved companion. A large dog pack or busy house would be too much for him at this point in his life.Finn is neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, had senior bloodwork and had a full cardiac workup. Though Finn has a grade 4 heart murmur that doesn’t require medication at the moment, He also has had occasional seizures (no medication required) in the past that according to his past vet haven’t occurred in years.Finn is fostered in Raleigh NC and his new family will need to drive to Raleigh to adopt him - no transports. We prefer families in NC, VA, SC, eastern TN, WV, northern GA, and DC area. To get the process started, fill out an application at www.doxiebyproxy.org/applicationIf you're looking for a loyal, loving, and easy-going friend, Finn might just be the perfect gentleman for you. ##2304715##

Story
Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Beaux and feel that you would be a good match for her, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Beaux is a beautiful chocolate and tan, 9-year-old Dachshund who is ready for her forever home. She came to us paralyzed, but quickly regained use of her legs, and can now run and play to her heart's content! This little Doxie has some trouble being still. Even when she’s really tired, she still wants to keep going. And she absolutely LOVES to ride -- in a car, a boat, wheelbarrow, or backpack. As long as she isn't left in the house, she’s a happy little camper! Although Beaux does very well with the other dogs in her foster family, she is capable of entertaining herself and probably would do well without another canine companion, as long as she has human companionship. Beaux also LOVES children! Like most Dachshunds, she is highly intelligent... and a bit more mischievous than your average pup. Because of Beaux’s high energy level, she tries to go up and down stairs, hop off the furniture, etc. -- things that Dachshund's really aren't supposed to do. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, so she can run and explore safely. Her foster home has a fenced yard with a doggie door. Her foster parents have not taught her to walk on a leash, which is one thing we're hoping her new family will be able and willing to do for her. Beaux is housetrained, but her back injury affected her bladder-control and at times she may dribble when she walks toward the door. She wears a doggie diaper most of the time in her foster home. Like most Dachshund's, Beaux has a great appetite! She enjoys carrots and other veggies… and she loves watermelon. She has a few favorite chew toys -- one of which is a golf ball! Beaux is healthy and isn't currently on any special medications other than a supplement for joint support. She is current on her Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccine and is spayed, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and had her teeth cleaned. She tested negative for Heartworms, and is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Beaux's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Beaux is a loving, active, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that Beaux would be a good match for your family, please submit an application by going to our website foreverhomek9rescue.org for an application and email the completed application to us at foreverhomek9rescue@yahoo.com. You can also submit an application by going to: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (cut and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Earl Grey and feel that you would be a good match for him, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Meet Earl Grey... our little wire coated Dachshund, who through no fault of his own is needing a forever home. Earl Grey came to us an an abandonment case from Animal Control. Poor boy... he was a mess! He was very thin, barely had any coat, he desperately needed a dental, and he had a pendulous growth on his chest that needed removal. It has taken quite a few months, but this wonderful little gentleman is finally ready to find his forever home! We believe that Earl Grey is what is considered to be a black and tan dapple, Silky Wirehaired Dachshund. His charcoal and silver coat, which now is full and fluffy, is soft and not wiry. He is now at his perfect weight, about 15-lbs. We are guessing that he is about 12 years-old... since he came to us from Animal Control, we have no way of being certain. Even though Earl Grey is a senior, he's still a very active boy... he loves going for walks, and rides well in the car. We are looking for a family for Earl Grey who is active and will take him for walks and on new adventures. Since he rides so well, he would be a good companion for a family who likes to travel and will take along their canine buddy. Earl Grey gets along with everyone... other dogs (both big and small), adults, children, and he even gets along with the resident cat in his foster home. He even will wrestle and play with one of his foster buddies. A home with another dog, or one without, will be fine for Earl Grey, as long as he has human companionship... either someone who works from home or a young retiree, so Earl Grey can get plenty of TLC and won't be left alone during the day. Earl Grey is well housetrained and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and will even 'potty' while on a leash if not in a fenced area. A fenced yard would be preferable for him, but would not be necessary if his family will take him out on a regular schedule. Earl Grey is neutered, current on his Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccines, microchipped, had bloodwork done, tested negative for Heartworms, and is on heartworm prevention. He does have cataracts, so we took him to an ophthalmologist to look into surgery, but he felt that Earl Grey would not go blind, and should be treated with drops administered daily in both eyes. Earl Grey's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Earl Grey is a loving, active, and smart little boy who deserves only the best home and family!
