Story
Short version: 3-4 year old 9 lb. chiweenie, has the CUTEST overbite ever, good with other dogs and likely good with cats, not good for a home with young children. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard because he is not a fan of anything involving a leash, harness or going for a walk. Echo (named for those rather large satellite ears he has) was recently rescued from a local shelter where he had been dumped by his breeder along with a few other very terrified friends from the same breeder. To say Echo was terrified is putting it mildly - this sweet boy was shell-shocked. Through the years we have taken multiple dogs that were dumped by this breeder and all have been poorly cared for and under socialized. As Echo has come into rescue, he is slowly learning the good life. One thing is for sure - he likes to be where you are at all times. He will follow you around and will get in your lap but if ever he is scared, his first reaction is still fear which sometimes means nips.  Echo will need patience and understanding as he is just starting to learn what this "good life" is all about. He is quite certain that it involves lounging on the sofa or on the lap of his person for hours on end! Echo likes other small dogs and will warm up to larger (more patient and quiet) dogs - and even seems to prefer to have other dogs around to help show him the way. Echo isn't big on outside and likes just enough time to do his business before returning to lounge on the sofa again.  When scared or overstimulated, Echo prefers a little down time (or he will hide in small places) to decompress. Because of his needs, it is best if he does not go to a home with young children. Echo is a true representation of what backyard breeders create - under socialized dogs used for monetary purposes only and never a beloved pet. Echo truly seems to want to be that as he will follow you from room to room, he just isn't quite sure how to accept your love when you approach. But once he does trust you, he LOVES for you to carry him (and would probably be most at home being carried in a little pouch so he can truly go every where you go). One interesting fact about all of the dogs we have pulled from this backyard breeder is that they seem to prefer men (though they will accept women too) so if you are looking for "man's best friend" - look no further than Echo! Echo is a total work in progress in need of someone willing to let him continue to bloom. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to go home! A home within a 3 hour drive of Central NC is required for Echo. ##2265733##

Story
Hi good friends. My name is Cindy Lou and I`m a sweet girl in need of some TLC. I can be a bit shy when you first approach me but treats are a great way to win me over! With lots of treats, gentle encouragement, and love, I know that I`ll blossom into the most beautiful girl. So what do you say, think I may be the perfect girl to share some cuddles with? Then come meet me and let`s see if we can be BFFs. I am full grown at ~12 lbs. How did I get here? Transferred from Forsyth County Humane Society after being found as a stray. *I will be spayed before going home.*~My adoption fee is $120.00.~

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Sweet Calliope is here at Saving Grace, and she’s ready to be your muse! This adult gal is a low- to mid-energy sweetheart who loves to see her leash come out for a neighborhood walk but is just as happy to run in a fenced yard. When she’s not outside catching sniffs, she loves to follow and be near her person, either while playing with a good squeaky toy or snuggled up next to you on the couch. While in foster, she has shown herself to have excellent potty manners, although she is not a fan of being in her crate and would probably love to sleep in the human bed. She got along with foster dogs of varying sizes but might also be happy being the queen in her own castle, as she can sometimes be a bit jealous when having to share her food or toys. This gal has a sparkly personality and is just waiting to brighten your home with love! Calliope has a wonderful heart (as far as her personality is concerned) but her heart must have done a lot of loving in her past as medically she now has a murmur. She hopes that her new family can help her keep track of that. Come meet this cutie today!

Story
Hi! My name is Toodie! When my mommy and daddy passed away, I went to live with my "sister." She took on the responsibility of me because I no longer had a home. I am a 7 year old brindle mixed breed. I weigh roughly 30 pounds. I love to cuddle, cuddle, cuddle! I loved to be chased by my humans and I am the silliest when I get my zoomies! I love all humans and I am good with children; I am not sure how I do with babies and cats because I have not really been around them. I hate to say it but I can be temperamental with dogs. I also have food aggression but it's not my fault. I had a rough life before I came to my mommy and daddy's house. I would do really well in a house with no other dogs. All I want are snuggles and love. My sister loves me and she is asking for $150 to make sure I go to a really good home.
