He was rescued from an overcrowded shelter after being seized through a hoarding case. The home he lived in was filled with dogs and trash piled up to the ceiling. He was understandably shut down at the scary shelter, but once he had a little time to decompress in foster, he started slowly letting his guard down. Jerry is still building confidence, keeping to himself most of the time. He has always lived with other dogs and will need to have a little dog companion in his forever home. He feels safest with his little buddies. Jerry is still learning to trust and would benefit from a quiet environment. Despite being so nervous, Jerry has been nothing but sweet. We have no doubt he’ll continue to learn and grow with the right family in his corner.All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Toni - He's a dorky. He is 3-4 years old. He is about 10 pounds. He is cuddly, He loves to be in your lap. He loves to be in your face, and if you're not careful, he will try to steal your food. He is anxious, and although he eats in the crate and is in a crate at times throughout the day, he does not like it. He is not fully house-trained. He marks in the house. We have attempted to train him and used different methods; although there has been improvement, he is unreliable. He needs to be in a single dog home. He wants all the attention. We do give him an anti-anxiety medication at night to help him settle and sleep.

Dexter is on a special diet and needs regular grooming appointments for his skin. Frankie was purchased from a purebred breeder. He is 14 years old, born 9-10-2011. I’m looking for a new home for him with someone who will be able to take better care of him than myself. I have developed many physical issues as a senior citizen and taking proper care of him has become very difficult. Frankie is a non aggressive dog and behaves much younger than his age. Other than some balding and minor skin issues, probably due to age and my inability to bathe him, he is healthy. He is friendly and likes to play but he is not good with children. If you’re interested in an older but cute and lively dachshund, Frankie might be a good choice for you!
