Adoption Donation   $599 Located:  RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx    7 & 5   years old     Weight:   lbs Bonded boys have spent their entire lives together and hoping someone can adopt the together!  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  kaysamlyss@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
***These babies are currently being fostered in the Pawtucket, RI area*** Simba, Mufasa and Kiara are our Lion King litter who are looking for their forever homes! These babies have not had it easy. They were born on the streets to unknown parents and have been fending for themselves since they were able to walk. The neighbors watched them grow but did not notify anybody about them until they were running in and out of the streets, barely missing from getting hit by cars. We were able to get 1 of the puppies about 6 weeks ago but unfortunately these 4 were a bit more elusive so it took more time to catch them, but we did not give up! We estimate they were born around April 20, 2024. The puppies are all quite different! Simba is the smallest, longest and shortest one. He is not growing almost at all and staying around 8 lbs. We do not believe he will get over 25 lbs full grown. Mufasa is longer and has shorter legs also, but not as short as Simba. Mufasa is only 2 lbs bigger than Simba, so we believe he won’t get over 30 lbs full grown. Kiara has longer legs and looks more lab/border collie like – we think she had a different dad. We estimate she will be around 40 lbs full grown Kiara is the friendliest of the group and loves to cuddle in bed and get lots of loves. The brothers are a bit more hesitant still of humans, but they LOVE to follow you around and be near you. It’s so adorable watching Simba and Mufasa run after the foster, their little legs going as fast as they will carry them. They are stubs for sure! Once separated from each other, we believe they will thrive in a home. These pups love you once they get to know you and trust you. The foster has spent a couple weeks with them and they’re already coming around and taking treats and getting love. They have been on the streets so long; they’re just learning that humans can be good and can be trusted. They are a bit timid at first and will definitely need a medium to quite calm household that has patience and understanding that they have not had an easy life to start off with. They are still puppies, so they do have the puppy energy, but they are not overactive. Another dog in the household would truly help these babies as they do need to gain confidence. They love other dogs and get super excited when other ones are around. As of right now, we are not recommending young children for Simba and Mufasa as sudden and fast movements are very scary for them and they cower, worried about what may happen. If only they could talk and tell us what happened to them when they were younger so we could help better. They are at the prime age though where they can be socialized and given a chance at a beautiful life. They are almost scared of their own shadow sometimes. They have met kitties and do fine with them 😊 If you can provide a safe, calm, loving, patient home for one of these sweet, gentle, calm, loving, adorable puppies, please consider applying today.
