Story
This is Jaeger! I took him in from someone who had an emergent situation where she couldn’t have him anymore but didn’t want to take him to the shelter. He’s only been with me a few days but he’s super sweet! He is definitely a big boy, which is why I can’t be his furever home :( He definitely deserves his space and a place to run! He sleeps next to me at night and likes to come hiking. He is a resource guarder with food though-it seems to be mostly towards my dogs than me, but could certainly be an issue in a smaller space (such as mine). Because of this I am saying he needs sn experienced adopter. Other than this very common issue, he has been wonderful! So sweet, fun and goofy. He is also very food motivated and highly trainable! If you are in the COS area I’d be happy to help with resource guarding and the training and trainer recommendations (my place is just too small to safely work with the guarding on a dog his size). He really is a cuddly goofball!!

Story
Meet Jolene, Jolene had a negative heartworm test!!! She is officially done with treatment and now just needs to be spayed. Before spay we are going to do a holter test on her just to be safe. Jolene will have to stay on heart worm protection for the rest of her life but can live a completely normal life. She will need to be retested in 6 months as a precaution as well. Jolene is a super sweet girl that loves everyone she meets. She is good with kids and other dogs. As we have hoped with getting the puppies out of her system and getting her heartworm treatment completed her heart is doing a lot better. To get preapproved for adoption please go to www.savingdobermankind.org/adoption-application All animals adopted from us are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and deworming. Story
Meet Jax, Jax has been returned to rescue because he barked at a neighbor and well we can't really make that up. Jax is a blue & tan boy with natural ears and a tail that is just over 4 1/2 years old. He is a super sweet boy and deserves the best life. He is a very smart boy who loves cuddles, is great on a leash, and knows a lot of commands! He's a great running and hiking partner, too! Jax needs to be in a Doberman experienced home with no small children. Jax will need to be in a home that is willing to work with him and a trainer for him to continue to grow into the dog he is meant to be. He will also need a home with a 6 ft fence, as he can clear a 3-4 ft fence if he decided to let himself out on a run. Jax is fully vetted and ready for his new forever home. Jax is muzzle trained and in high stress environments like vet offices it would be best for him to wear it in case he gets over stimulated. This boy has had a rough life thus far after running the streets of Mexico to coming here. Jax is back to the dog we originally adopted out. He would be best in a home with another dog to keep his confidence up. He is good with cats and horses also. We are currently accepting applications for Jax at www.savingdobermankind.org/adoption-application All animals adopted from us are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and deworming. Story
Meet Dandy, Dandy some of you will remember as Royal. Dandy arrived from Texas awhile ago and he has already began his journey of getting rid of his heatworms. He's already completed his injections and in about 30 days from now he will receive a heart worm test to see if his treatment is completed. He's going to have a road ahead of him but you can not ask for a sweeter senior boy at just a little bit over 7 years old. Dandy is good with other dogs and cats. He is a super sweet boy that deserves the best. He is shy at first but once he warms up you can not ask for a better man. Currently we are looking for a foster to adopt as he has medical we will need to take care of before he will be able to be adopted which will also include not only his heartworm treatment but a dental and neuter as well. We are accepting applications to foster to adopt Dandy at www.savingdobermankind.org/foster-application We are currently accepting adoption applications for Dandy as well since he should be fully vetted by the end of July. To apply to adopt please go to www.savingdobermankind.org/adoption-application He will be required to go to our vet for treatments in Colorado Springs. Story
Meet Viktor, Viktor just arrived today from TX. When he was found this poor boy was in rough shape and had given up in the shelter. When he was found he was not only under weight but he also has Demodex Mange which is not contagious but it can wreck havoc on the body. Once Viktor was out of the shelter he became a very different dog. His energy came back and as his skin has healed so has he. You will not meet a sweeter boy the Viktor. He still has some healing to do but he is well on his way to having healthy skin again. We originally thought he was going to be a fawn boy but as his hair returns he's actually a red and tan boy. Before Viktor will be ready for his forever home he still needs to be neutered but before putting him under any more stress we are going to let his skin heal a little longer. To apply to adopt Viktor please go to www.savingdobermankind.org/adoption-application All animals adopted from us are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and deworming.
