Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please help us by fostering  TODAY!!!!! ________________________________________________________ We try to evaluate  most of our adoptable dogs temperament  with a senior UDR rescuer before it goes into a foster home. This helps ensure we place it in the right foster home. We may have some dogs in rescue who are not on our website that we are getting to know and who may need a foster home. Our goal is to place dogs in the right foster and adoptive homes! Of course it is up to the fosters to further evaluate the dogs while they are living in the home.  New arrivals coming soon! We partner with Doberman Rescue of Northern Texas, High Desert Doberman Rescue and many other rescues across the US and world. We have new Dobermans coming in often and have the ability to take in a homeless Dobermans the same day we are contacted should we get a surrender request. We can always use fosters to be on the ready to foster one of these new arrivals!         Please apply on our website to foster, or give a shout out if you can help any of these dogs!! As always fosters get the first chance to adopt! You provide a safe, loving home with daily structure until your foster dog gets adopted. Time frame is anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. If you have a dog, your dog may like a friend. We try match up the dog with the foster home best suited for each dog in need. UDR supplies all the dog food, some supplies and always pays for vet care. Going on vacation and worried you will have to find a place for your foster dog?? NO worries!!!Know we DO have numerous options for vacation boarding and doing temporary fostering of your foster dog while you take that much needed vacation. We are also in need of short term fosters, those foster homes who would take in a foster dog on a short term basis, a weekend, a week or two, even to help in emergency or medical situations. Please fill out our foster application today and help a dog in need!!!  Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster dogs, so this might be a great way to "test" out your new friend. Fostering has its perks!! Many fosters do join the foster failure club, meaning they end up adopting their foster dog! Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re: freeing up a spot so a shelter can take in another dog. giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible. socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people. Thank you for helping us help them! Fostering saves lives. Be a hero, foster a dog in need! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Please read our adoption policies page in its entirety before filling out application-failure to do so may delay the adoption process. Please answer all questions on the application, failure to do so may result in your application being denied. We do not adopt on a first come first serve basis but what is the best fit for our dogs.  We do give preference to homes with fenced yards. Puppies must live in homes with fenced yards. Those with no fencing must have a plan in place for daily activity and bathroom breaks for adult dogs. With the exception of Meet and Greets, y ou will not be able to meet our adoptable animals until the adoption application is submitted online and the home visit is completed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Winnie, the 10-11-month-old Doberman mix who is an absolute hot mess express with no brakes and a borderline feral approach to life. This girl is like a toddler on espresso—zero manners, the social skills of a wrecking ball, and a playstyle that could best be described as overzealous enthusiasm. She plays way, way too rough with people, has no idea how to interact with other dogs (her approach is full-contact WWE), and small animals? Yeah, no, she thinks they’re squeaky toys. She’s already been passed around a few homes before her first birthday, probably because her love language is body-slamming you at full speed and then enthusiastically mouthing (gnawing) on your arm in excitement. She has no concept of personal space, believes she’s entitled to be in your face at all times, and her idea of making friends is charging at them like a caffeinated linebacker, so most other canines don't want to play with her. Winnie has been in a boarding facility for almost a full month now, and while she’s safe, this is no place for a young, wild pup who desperately needs structure, training, and a real home. We’d love to see her in a home environment—doing home stuff with people, learning what it means to be a good girl, and finally getting the guidance she needs. She is not all bad, she does have some sweetness to her too! BUT, she requires someone with strong training skills or at least a firm hand to teach her that body-checking humans is not a form of affection. If you are confident you can handle her she needs you!!!! If you take on this project pup, the rescue will hook you up with whatever you need—training tools, moral support, lots of balls as she LOVES to play ball, maybe even a bottle of wine (no promises, but we understand if you need it). Winnie is fully vetted, spayed, chipped, housebroken, and crate trained (thank goodness). If you’re up for the challenge and want a lifetime supply of entertainment, Winnie is your girl. Just remember—helmet and knee pads not included.Click here to watch a video of Winnie Special Foster needed!.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Story
Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets. November 5, 2024, 9:35 pm

Story
Beautiful girl looking for perfect home!! Delilah(almost 4) is a fabulous one owner girl. She has transitioned from a bad situation into learning to trust her current foster. She needs a strong person to guide her in every situation and she will be ok. She needs to know she is safe and will look to her person for that guidance and support. Her personality shines true with her knowing she is in a safe space and being one with the two resident kitties on the bed. She listens off leash and will come, once she has established you are her person. She needs patience and love.  She is Velcro to her foster mom much of the day and loves to cuddle. She is soooo smart, she has learned to sit, go sit by the door (her potty cue), she knows "wait" , "come" & "stay" and shake! She definitely loves chew toys, so lots of of tuff chew toys are good to have on hand. Delilah is better with older(12+), slower more calmer kids. She would not be good in a home that is busy, loud, and has small children. Delilah was not socialized well and can still be nervous in new situations and around new people or animals, so we have to be cautious about introductions, but it seems she is attentive to foster mom for cues on if the situation is ok/safe and she seems to be able to be calmed/distracted before she gets too agitated. Delilah needs a home that will be patient and understanding with her and will earn her trust through calmness, dependability and most importantly lots of love!!! Having a home with a physical fence would be recommended especially if neighbors are near for this will just make her world more peaceful and a better environment for her to feel safe in her own yard.  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!!Raine, 3 year old spayed female is a spunky, smart, sweet, shy, petite girl that is going to definitely be someone's best friend! She is very smart and knows lots of tricks, has to be with her human always. She carries around her stuffies called her "babies" all of the time! They are a comfort to her. She is so smart that she learned our routine in just 2 days! She also took to the kennel really fast. She does need something to occupy her time, so we give her a treat ball and hard bone with some peanut butter. She does require the use of a plastic kennel and no wire kennel.  This girl needs very slow intros to people as well as other dogs. No small dogs or kids. We are still working on her getting along with other dogs and some treat aggression. She would be a great only dog. She likes to think that she is first, she was the only dog in her previous home. This girl needs someone with lots of Doberman experience, patience and time to let her get comfortable and earn her trust. She is very shy and it may take more then one visit to get to know her and to see if she is a good fit. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Story
New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!!Justice is a 3 year old  sweet, friendly and all heart gorgeous young lad. He is very much a classic Velcro boy. He likes to always be in the same space as his foster. He is crate trained and will go into the kennel when asked. He is in a kennel when home alone only due to the new surroundings as well as the other resident foster dog. Justice is scheduled to be nuetered soon and is also under treatment for lymes as well. He loves treats and takes them very carefully out of your hand. He knows sit, wait, shake and down. We are working on leash skills as he does tend to pull when he is excited. There are two kitties in the foster home and Justice is good with them, if the kitty does not encourage chase. If the kitty is dog savvy and will hold their ground and stay while he investigates all is good. He loves to play and plays with the other foster to get his younger energy out. He has not barked when there is someone at the door, however he will be sure to let you know there is a squirrel outside. He will stop barking when he is told no more. He is great at meeting strangers and needs to be reminded to stay down as he will hop up in excitement. He will chew on bones and stuffies, however he is not a huge shredder of the stuffies either. He will signal when he wants to go outside, would like attention by the classic Dobe “whine/talk”. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog.
