You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please help us by fostering  TODAY!!!!! ________________________________________________________ We try to evaluate  most of our adoptable dogs temperament  with a senior UDR rescuer before it goes into a foster home. This helps ensure we place it in the right foster home. We may have some dogs in rescue who are not on our website that we are getting to know and who may need a foster home. Our goal is to place dogs in the right foster and adoptive homes! Of course it is up to the fosters to further evaluate the dogs while they are living in the home.  New arrivals coming soon! We partner with Doberman Rescue of Northern Texas, High Desert Doberman Rescue and many other rescues across the US and world. We have new Dobermans coming in often and have the ability to take in a homeless Dobermans the same day we are contacted should we get a surrender request. We can always use fosters to be on the ready to foster one of these new arrivals!         Please apply on our website to foster, or give a shout out if you can help any of these dogs!! As always fosters get the first chance to adopt! You provide a safe, loving home with daily structure until your foster dog gets adopted. Time frame is anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. If you have a dog, your dog may like a friend. We try match up the dog with the foster home best suited for each dog in need. UDR supplies all the dog food, some supplies and always pays for vet care. Going on vacation and worried you will have to find a place for your foster dog?? NO worries!!!Know we DO have numerous options for vacation boarding and doing temporary fostering of your foster dog while you take that much needed vacation. We are also in need of short term fosters, those foster homes who would take in a foster dog on a short term basis, a weekend, a week or two, even to help in emergency or medical situations. Please fill out our foster application today and help a dog in need!!!  Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster dogs, so this might be a great way to "test" out your new friend. Fostering has its perks!! Many fosters do join the foster failure club, meaning they end up adopting their foster dog! Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re: freeing up a spot so a shelter can take in another dog. giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible. socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people. Thank you for helping us help them! Fostering saves lives. Be a hero, foster a dog in need! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet 10 month old Puppy Snoop! Snoop, the mischievously loving member of the resilient Doberman puppy trio, is on a journey to find a forever home filled with love and understanding. Discovered as a stray alongside his sisters Celeste and Lavender, Snoop's spirit shines through despite the challenges he has faced. At an estimated 6 to 9 months old, Snoop embodies the playful and adventurous essence of puppyhood. But he can be a very shy and timid guy at times. When we first met Snoop, his initial weight of 45 pounds unveiled a troubling past of malnourishment and adversity. Today he weighs in at 56 pounds thanks to his foster family's love. If you want to help Snoop with food, check out our wish-list on Chewy! Despite this, Snoop's vibrant personality persists, showcasing his resilience and unwavering spirit. His lively demeanor and love for cuddling remain intact, revealing a love bug with an unbreakable heart and spirit. This little guy would not hurt a fly, he may run in the opposite direction though! Snoop, the mischievous brother, adds an extra layer of joy to every moment. His playful antics and affectionate nature make him a delightful companion. Yet, beneath his lively exterior, Snoop reveals a vulnerability that only serves to deepen the connection with his caring companions. Snoop will need a fully fenced yard as this boy can jump like a high stepping gazelle! Yes Snoop can clear a 4-6 foot fence with ease. Snoop is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped and nuetered! If you have room in your heart for a courageous soul in need of healing, Snoop is ready to make a lasting impression on your life and be your loyal companion. Visit our website at www.uniteddobermanrescue.org to submit your adoption application and welcome Snoop into your home. Your love and care will play a pivotal role in Snoop's ongoing journey toward recovery, ensuring that this resilient and lovable brother finds the perfect family to share his adventures and continue his healing. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 6:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dally: Your Sweet and Gentle older, been there done that, Female Doberman Dally is a lovely older gal, age unknown, purebred Doberman who recently had a narrow escape from a dire situation. Dally was just hours away from being euthanized at a shelter with her companion, Dolly. Thanks to the timely intervention of UDR Rescue volunteers and the help of a rescue in Texas, where she is from, both of these wonderful dogs are now safe and looking for their forever homes. About Dally, 6-7 years old best estimate, Dally is the sweetest, gentlest dog you will ever meet. She loves human companionship and every stranger she meets is a automatic friend. Her calm demeanor and loving nature make her an ideal companion. Dally loves going for boat and car rides, shes a great camper! Super gentle with young children, cats and other dogs! She gets along excellently with other canines, cats and thrives on human companionship. While she is great in a fenced yard when you are outside with her, she will jump the fence looking for you if you put her out by herself. Whether you have other pets or are looking for a loyal friend, Dally will fit right in. She would be a great dog for a first time dog owner or senior who needs a friend! Dally is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is in good health currently but prior she came to us horribly emaciated, and with the  proper care and nutrition which she is getting now while in foster care she looks beautiful. For homes with multiple pets Dally will need to be fed alone as she is very protective of any food she gets, most likely because the poor girl suffered without food for a long time and had been starving prior to being rescued.  Dally is truly a good girl who has so much love to give. She deserves a peaceful and loving home where she can enjoy her years in the future surrounded by kindness and care. If you're looking for a gentle and affectionate companion, Dally is the perfect match. If you're interested in giving Dally the loving home she deserves, please apply with us today at www.uniteddobermanrescue.org.  Your new best friend is waiting to meet you! Adopt Dally today and experience the joy of welcoming this wonderful adult Doberman girl into your life.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 6:13 pm

Story
Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets. August 18, 2024, 10:28 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Mikey Korbut, or Mikey to his loved ones. Like most chihuahuas, he is a little guy with a big personality. He was found with his mom and sister at an abandoned house in Texas, hungry and covered in fleas. Once he made his way to his Texas foster home, Mikey has shown himself to be a smart, loving pup who’s eager to learn and please. Mikey picked up the “sit” command very fast, and he’s very responsive to treat-based training. He’s got that typical chihuahua energy—high-strung and full of energy at times—but really, he’s happiest when he’s chilling out with his favorite person. Mikey’s not the biggest fan of surprises and can be a bit unsure when new people initially visit, but he quickly comes around and recognizes they are not a threat. He’s a quiet little guy who prefers to find a cozy spot away from the bigger dogs and just relax. He’s more into people than other dogs, but he does well with the other dogs in his foster home. Mikey’s favorite things? Eating, getting pets, and napping—especially if he can do it close to his human. He’s not as enthusiastic about walks and seems to prefer the comfort of being indoors, cuddled up with his person. Mikey would do well as the only dog in the house, or with other low-key dogs who don't constantly want his attention. He’s looking for a home where he can get plenty of love, a cozy spot to nap, and maybe a few treats along the way.   Mikey Korbut   is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/23/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.   Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
