Story
MEET DARLA! Darla is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old purebred Doberman Pinscher. (Purebred verified by DNA testing). She is elegant, pretty and very affectionate -- and she gets along great with other dogs. Darla was rescued from a crowded California shelter, and now is a big favorite with volunteers, who call her a "real sweetheart". She is a well-behaved girl, but is quite strong, and will pull when she sees squirrels on a walk! Darla is in good health. She dos have a small lump on her underside, but this has been vet-checked and determined to be a benign fatty tumor, not a source of potential trouble. Darla will be totally devoted to her person. She is a gem and whomever adopts her will be very lucky. She weighs about 65 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET CARTER! Carter is a 3- to 4-year-old male Doberman-German Shepherd mix (50/50 per DNA testing) who needs a foster or forever home! He looks more like a Dobie than a German Shepherd, and is sweet as they come! Carter was rescued from a scary California shelter, where he was kenneled with another dog and did great. He loves other dogs and is a joy with people, always having a smile to go. He still has some puppy energy, but calms down quickly. He's sweet and affectionate, and very intelligent. He would do best in a home with an active person, people or family with older kids. He would make an ideal family dog. He weighs about 65 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog. Doberman or large-dog experience is a must for his adoption. Please email for an application.

Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
MEET PHOENIX! This handsome 8-year-old Dobie-Rottie mix needs a home! He was rescued from a shelter where he was a shelter favorite, and is currently in the Los Angeles area.. He weighs approx. 80 lbs. Phoenix is still an active and loving guy and will do best with an active person or people who can get him plenty of exercise. He has many positive traits - he is affectionate (he loves to give hugs once he knows you!), he walks well on a leash, and he is a very loyal and sweet dog. He will be your best friend for life . Phoenix prefers to have his person or people around, and will howl just a little if he is lonely. But he is not a barker unless its warranted. He can be a bit protective of his people and his property, and as such, he is dog-reactive on a leash. Phoenix would thrive as an only dog, or at least as an only male dog. He would be a great companion for the right person who has experience with strong breeds and who understands the mindset and loyalty of a dog like Phoenix. Please email for an application.

Story
The first thing that will come to your mind when you meet Lily Lovey is that she is the definition of LOVE. Hence the second name "Lovey." It radiates from her and pours out of her in every aspect. Her love knows no bounds. From meeting strangers, to hanging out with kids, to other dogs, and to playing with toys, she loves it all! This may sound repetitive and yes, we are using the word "love" constantly, but it's hard to explain through txt how incredibly loving Lily is. Watch her video and you'll feel all the love Lily has to offer: https://youtu.be/EovVE1aId00?feature=shared We believe that Lovey is a Doberman, Rottweiler mix, she is a rescue, so her exact lineage cannot be guaranteed. Lily Lovey is estimated to be around 3 years old. Lily Lovey is very dog friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced her to. She is even used as an assessment dog from time to time at the rescue because she is so good about matching energies with other dogs. She will be relaxed if they are more relaxed and she will play hard if they play hard and she really really likes dogs that are capable of doing both because she doesn't always play hard for long stretches of time. She’s doesn't get jealous when other dogs get attention, she shares love well and is an absolute lady when it comes to sharing treats too. Lily would do best in a home with a happy go-lucky aloof dog that likes to play and one that also likes to hangout and relax. If you don't have other dogs, that's okay too! She would be great as a solo dog as she does not need the constant play to keep her entertained or need the companionship to help her open up and be comfortable. Lily is a happy social butterfly all on her own and she would love the be the center of your world. When it comes to the feline friends, Lily would also do best in a kitty free home as she showed a little too much interest for our liking when she met our house cat. Lily's love for people extends to more than just adults, she loves kids too! She has met kids as young as 11 months old to 8 years old and she was fantastic with both! Even with her size, she was very mindful about not stepping on the baby when he was crawling around, she wasn't bothered by any of his loud and clunky baby toys, and also wasn't phased by him crying like all babies too. She actually came up to check on him and gave him kisses. Her ultimate favorite was the 8 year old though. Lily loved loved loved Elijah!!! She immediately ran up to him and was melting into his lap. She gave him kisses, loved him on him, and kissed, played with him for about 20 minutes. One of the games they played was hide and seek and Elijah hide under the bed for Lily to find him and once she did, she crawled up under the bed with him. It was so cute and funny to watch as well. Lily isn't all about playtime with kids either, she had no problems relaxing and snuggling on the bed once playtime was over. If you have kids, she would make an incredible family dog. Lily Lovey's ideal home would have a backyard because she loves her outside time. She likes to roll around in the grass, play with her toys, and will enjoy those nice summer days with you while you're having a cook-out BBQ with friends and family. We can also see Lily being a wonderful adventure girly if you are someone that likes to go on hikes and our take your dog places. She is a friendly face with everyone and has an adventurous heart which are both two great qualities to have when you want to take your dog places. If you're not feeling up for an adventure, Lily will happily keep herself entertained by playing with one of her favorite stuffy toys or snoozing on the couch. She has actually asked us to make it a requirement that her future home has a toy basket filled with all the stuffies just for her. Lily is more than just a lover, she a smarty pants too! She already knows how to sit, is very treat motivated, and eager to please making any future training with her that much more enjoyable for you both. For the most part, Lily walks well on a leash and at times she does get a little excited in the beginning but after a few leash corrections and with practice, Lily walks like a princess on leash. She has amazing house manners, never getting into things she shouldn't be and it crate trained and potty trained. Lily Lovey is ready to meet you, and knowing her- it will be love at first sight. We are willing to test Lily with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hi, I am Junior, neutered, 10.5yrs old, a mix of mix of Min-PIn/Jack Russel etc. I am a very special boy, who is looking for his last home, I need a gentle owner, who understands my quirks, I am not mean at all, but am terrified of being picked up and the vets office. Now that I am on arthritic medication, I love short walks, I bounce around to play and if you are real lucky, I will crawl in your lap and want snuggles. I love just being in the room with you, I like the big office dog here, but I am not so sure about dogs my size or smaller. Due to my arthritis I prefer no young children under 10yrs. My adoption fee is $225
