Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
MEET DARLA! Darla is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old purebred Doberman Pinscher. (Purebred verified by DNA testing). She is elegant, pretty and very affectionate -- and she gets along great with other dogs. Darla was rescued from a crowded California shelter, and now is a big favorite with volunteers, who call her a "real sweetheart". She is a well-behaved girl, but is quite strong, and will pull when she sees squirrels on a walk! Darla is in good health. She dos have a small lump on her underside, but this has been vet-checked and determined to be a benign fatty tumor, not a source of potential trouble. Darla will be totally devoted to her person. She is a gem and whomever adopts her will be very lucky. She weighs about 65 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET CARTER! Carter is a 3- to 4-year-old male Doberman-German Shepherd mix (50/50 per DNA testing) who needs a foster or forever home! He looks more like a Dobie than a German Shepherd, and is sweet as they come! Carter was rescued from a scary California shelter, where he was kenneled with another dog and did great. He loves other dogs and is a joy with people, always having a smile to go. He still has some puppy energy, but calms down quickly. He's sweet and affectionate, and very intelligent. He would do best in a home with an active person, people or family with older kids. He would make an ideal family dog. He weighs about 65 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog. Doberman or large-dog experience is a must for his adoption. Please email for an application.

Story
Hunter is a stunning male Doberman that was saved from a very neglectful situation in California by Animal Control. When he was found, he had been starved down to 38 pounds and has gained 30 pounds in foster. He's filled out nicely to 68 pounds currently. Hunter is a typical, Velcro Doberman who loves people and almost instantly does the Doberman lean in to show you affection. Natural ears and docked tail. - Approximately 3-4 years old - Could be wonderful as a solo dog. Excellent with female dogs and would love a playful girl dog companion in his future home! Hunter is a very animated and playful dog so if there is another dog in the home, it would be best if they were into that. He has been fostered with both male and female large breed dogs and has not shown any aggression, however he can be pushy with wanting to play and the dogs he is fostered with have not been into wanting to play with him. - Seeking an adult only home. Hunter is sensitive to kids and nipped a child previously (he did not break skin) and therefore his best placement would be in an adult only home. Hunter does not go out of his way to get to children, he just is uncomfortable living in a home with them. - No cats. He does want to chase them. - Crate trained and will go in on his own to nap. Doesn't mind sleeping in his crate at night. Does not break out of the crate. No separation anxiety observed. - Couch cuddler and pretty reasonable, medium energy in the house. - Uses a front clip, no pull harness for walks as he does pull some. He has not exhibited leash reactivity and he really enjoys his walks to explore the neighborhood. - Confident, adventurous dog who would love to go all the places with you! - Bonds equally with men and women and is social to both genders - Loves his toys and chews - Happily loads into a vehicle, lies down and is calm for car rides. No car sickness. - Smart and eager to train with you. Knows sit and shake currently. He will also wait during meal times for you to set his bowl down and release him to eat. - Could live in a condo or apartment if breed is allowed and owner is active and exercises him regularly. Currently is fostered in a condo in an urban area without a fenced yard and does well. - A quirk is that he's not comfortable doing indoor staircases. He will do stairs to get into a home. But once inside, he doesn't go up to the second floor. This could likely be trained but would take some work. Hunter is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, fecal tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $200 adoption fee Fostered in SE Portland, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT HUNTER: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
