Story
Honey is a sweet two year old Doberman/husky mix. Sadly, her mommy has a terminal illness and has reached out to us to find Honey the perfect forever home. Honey is spayed, up-to-date on all required vaccines, HW negative and micro chipped. Honey is sweet and affectionate but a little awkward. She just needs a little bit of training to become that perfect dog. Training her mom just hasn’t been up to lately. Honey has one beautiful blue eye and the most adorable ears I’ve ever seen. She weighs about 55 pounds. She would do well with older children that wouldn't be knocked over as well as a good natured doggy sibling. If you would like to give this cutie pie a place in your family while putting her current mom at ease, please email dogs4mylife@gmail.com or omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our information and application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PENNY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and and    arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 15th March. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine to meet and then hopefully take home. PENNY is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, and in March 2025 weighed 59 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of April 2024.    We can not say for sure what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Penny was in a foster home for the shelter before transport and the family did note that she did start to get a little protective, not aggressive, over her food and toys with the other dogs. This is quite common for dogs that have had to fend for themselves and it just takes time, patience and training for them to learn and adjust. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. PENNY is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet girl. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Link to the Adoption Application To look at lots more photo's be sure to check out our    Facebook Page ALBUMS    where we are able to upload hundreds of photos of our dogs waiting for their forever homes and families. Story
*COURTESY POST* Joker is a charming 4 1/2-year-old Doberman Pinscher currently being fostered through Catskill Animal Rescue in NY. This sweet boy has a lot of love to give and is looking for a dedicated, experienced Dobie owner to share his life with. Joker loves going for walks and being with his humans. He can be around other dogs, but a meeting is required to ensure compatibility. Given his past as a cruelty case where he was kept in a small kennel, resulting in bowed rear legs, Joker needs a home that understands his special needs. Joker is great at following commands and does well on a leash, though he might pull if something catches his interest. He has a tendency to tear up toys but doesn't resource guard. While he hasn't been around young kids, he behaves well around people. Joker is dog selective and only barks when someone approaches the house. Currently in a foster home, Joker is doing well but may have occasional accidents indoors if he becomes anxious. He loves car rides and is happiest when he's close to his humans. An experienced Doberman owner is preferred, and it's important that Joker isn't crated. To apply for Joker, please visit Catskill Animal Rescue's website and complete an application: https://www.catskillanimalrescue.com/app-faq Let's help Joker find the loving forever home he deserves! Story
Meet Gonzo! Gonzo is a sweet and resilient 5-year-old Doberman looking for his forever home. He has been through a lot but still has a heart full of love and loyalty. His foster family describes him as a happy, affectionate boy who adores his people. They’ve been helping him learn leash manners, and he's been responding well to crate training, happily going into his crate and showing his calm, gentle side. While Gonzo is friendly with people, he would do best as the only pet in a home. His high prey drive means he needs a cat-free environment, and he’s shown some food and toy guarding behaviors around other dogs. His foster family has managed this carefully, but for his success and comfort, a home without other pets would likely be ideal. Gonzo would benefit from a family willing to continue his training, as he’s learning quickly and wants to please. Gonzo is ready to find his perfect match. He’s looking for a family who will appreciate his journey and give him the love, patience, and understanding he deserves. Story
Dawkins is a stunning one-year-old blue Doberman with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s playful, goofy, and full of life, always ready for a game of fetch, zooming around the yard, or proudly carrying his favorite toy. But behind his fun-loving nature is a dog who desperately needs stability. Dawkins has spent too much of his young life without structure, and he needs a committed home with someone who understands him and can help him thrive. Dawkins is a high-energy dog who struggles with impulse control and needs a structured environment with routine and consistency. He is not a dog that can be given too much freedom too soon and will do best with an experienced Doberman or working-breed owner who understands how to help him succeed. He would do best in a home without young children and needs someone who can read his cues and provide clear guidance. He has enjoyed playing with some dogs, but he does best with careful introductions and would not be a good fit for a home with another dominant male. His adopter must also be willing to continue his training and keep him on his current medication regimen while he continues to progress. Dawkins is affectionate, eager to learn, and full of potential. He deserves a home where he can be set up for success and given the consistency he has never had. There is a good home out there for Dawkins—we just need to find it. If you have the experience, patience, and commitment to give Dawkins the life he deserves, please reach out.
