Story
Peanut is a big lug who loves to love! He was originally brought in as a stray, then his owners were found…but they just decided to not come back for him. Peanut didn’t understand why, and we certainly never did either. He’s such a fun goofy boy! He LOVES stuffy toys- to the point that he takes one with on every single walk! He enjoys snuggles with people and is good with basic commands. He does love his tubbies, so it’s always a pleasure for bath time with Peanut. He has such cute little nuances too- the way he runs like a funny inch worm…the way he tucks his little butt in when he’s happy. He’s just a lovable goof you have to meet!

Story
Honey is a sweet two year old Doberman/husky mix. Sadly, her mommy has a terminal illness and has reached out to us to find Honey the perfect forever home. Honey is spayed, up-to-date on all required vaccines, HW negative and micro chipped. Honey is sweet and affectionate but a little awkward. She just needs a little bit of training to become that perfect dog. Training her mom just hasn’t been up to lately. Honey has one beautiful blue eye and the most adorable ears I’ve ever seen. She weighs about 55 pounds. She would do well with older children that wouldn't be knocked over as well as a good natured doggy sibling. If you would like to give this cutie pie a place in your family while putting her current mom at ease, please email dogs4mylife@gmail.com or omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our information and application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PENNY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and and    arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 15th March. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine to meet and then hopefully take home. PENNY is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, and in March 2025 weighed 59 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of April 2024.    We can not say for sure what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Penny was in a foster home for the shelter before transport and the family did note that she did start to get a little protective, not aggressive, over her food and toys with the other dogs. This is quite common for dogs that have had to fend for themselves and it just takes time, patience and training for them to learn and adjust. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. PENNY is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet girl. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Link to the Adoption Application To look at lots more photo's be sure to check out our    Facebook Page ALBUMS    where we are able to upload hundreds of photos of our dogs waiting for their forever homes and families.
