Story
Dakota is a very affectionate, gentle, 97 pound, 7-8 year old female black/tan Doberman with a calm and friendly personality. She is a bit overweight and on a journey to a healthier leaner body. Dakota is a special needs dog; she had a cancerous mass which was removed. There are currently no signs of cancer but she should be monitored to see if it returns. Dakota greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail and gentle kisses. Dakota is calm and well-mannered. She is content to take naps and relax. If she is left alone she does whine and pace. She is not destructive but will chew a blanket. She sleeps through the night on her dog bed. Dakota will do best in a new home where someone is home with her. She does well when riding in the car. Dakota spent some with another female Doberman and got along well with her. She would be a good companion for an older or more relaxed playmate rather than rough-housing with a young puppy. Dakota is fostered in Maryland. We are moving overseas for a temporary job and looking to rehome our beloved pup Archie until we return in January 2026. We adopted Archie in 2014 and he's now the most puppy-faced 10-year-old boy you've ever seen (seriously, we still get stopped on the street constantly asking if he's a puppy!). He has been a loyal companion, witnessing our family grow as we married and welcomed two human babies, now ages 6 and 2. Archie is a top-notch snuggler, full of energy on walks, and incredibly patient with little ones. Until very recently he would run his little heart out at the dog park, consistently faster than dogs half his age. Having spent the first year of his life in shelters, however, he does come with some baggage and still experiences separation anxiety. Archie would do best in a home with at least one person home the majority of the time and/or with another dog to keep him company. He is house-trained, but resists the crate. Please consider taking in our special guy!

Sunn is a great and energetic dog! He truly loves to play and run around. Great personality for a dog. He seems very nosy at times but I’ve learned that he wants to see anything and everything that goes on around him. I would for someone who has a family or someone who has the dedicated time to take care of him. I have him for 3 years and it has been great but unfortunately I have to let him go. He will definitely bring light and great energy to your space!

This girl loves her people with all her heart and we wouldn't want her any other way. Anabelle is originally from Puerto Rico. Her owners left the island and didn't take Anabelle with them. Anabelle is a very sweet girl who takes time to warm up to people, but once she gets to know you she is very cuddly and loves to be by your side. She would like someone who will take it slow and let her warm up at her pace. Anabelle would be a loyal companion for the right home. She enjoys walks and is well behaved on a leash and even likes to check in with you to make sure she is doing a good job. She LOVES to give kisses and would love a home where she can soak up all the love. Anabelle has been at the Farm for over a year now and she wants a place to call her own. She loves to run around the fields and get all her zoomies out. When she's in a quiet environment, she settles quickly and can be very affectionate. KNOWN WITH DOGS: Anabelle does well with dogs but needs a slow introduction. She can be dog selective but does well with a proper introduction. Anabelle plays best with dogs that know how to take breaks so she doesn't gets over stimulated. KNOWN WITH CATS: Anabelle is cat friendly, and has done well meeting cats. KNOWN WITH KIDS: A home without children is recommended. She is a willowy young girl with long thin legs and a beautiful face framed by perfectly shaped and expressive brows. Rayne has a sweet demeanor, she loves to move, and she loves getting scratches; especially behind her ears.  Rayne was rescued from PG County's euthanasia list and she is loving her new-found freedom!
