Animal Profile: Copper is an estimated 3-year-old, 80 lb neutered male Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. He was originally picked up as a stray in Georgia and joined us from via Project Freedom Ride. He was evaluated to be very friendly with dogs and people. Foster Update: Copper is young and full of energy, but it's easy to wear him out with some exercise. He loves to chase balls, although he is still working on returning and dropping them. Copper can be cautious around new people, but once he warms up to them (or they give him a treat), he is very affectionate. He is able to make friends with other dogs after slow and proper introductions. With a confident handler, Copper doesn't react much to other dogs when on leash. He likes to lead but does not pull on walks. Adopter Profile: Single family dwelling with a securely fenced yard. No cats or small animals. Large breed experience and breed experience a plus!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/Bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue. Apply online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was picked by animal control in GA and transported via Project Freedom Ride to Seattle.  He arriving here on 10/22/22 and has been in foster care for nearly a year.  He is eager to find his forever home and is available for adoption.November 16, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Animal Profile: Meet Bingo – A Loyal, Loving, and Quirky Doberman Looking for His Perfect Match! Bingo is a handsome blue male Doberman with a big heart, a goofy personality, and a strong attachment to his people. He’s been through multiple homes but continues to be a resilient and affectionate dog who just needs the right environment to thrive, so please read his profile carefully. He has been with the rescue for over two years now, and after multiple failed adoptions we have taken the time to fully understand the kind of home Bingo needs. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a ride or die companion who will keep you on your toes, Bingo might be the one for you! Things To Love About Bingo &#226&#156&#148 Sweet & Affectionate – Loves to snuggle, lean into his humans, and never lets a free hand go to waste. &#226&#156&#148 Great with People – Friendly with adults and children (has spent the majority of his foster time with small children). &#226&#156&#148 Dog Social (With Management) – Loves playing with other dogs but does best as the only pet in the home. &#226&#156&#148 House Trained – Fully potty trained, non-destructive once settled, and walks well on a leash. &#226&#156&#148 Smart & Trainable – Quick learner, e- collar trained but will do just about anything for a treat, and he has great recall! &#226&#156&#148 Active but Not High-Energy – Enjoys a good play session or walk but equally enjoys couch life. &#226&#156&#148 Confident Watchdog – Protective of his home and people but is not aggressive. Bingo’s Needs & Challenges Best as an Only Pet – While he enjoys playing with dogs, he struggles with resource guarding at home (only with dogs). He has spent the last seven months living with two resident dogs with strict management but is happiest as the only pet. An experienced owner who understands dog body language is essential. Highly Food Motivated (and Opportunistic!) – Bingo is a world-class counter surfer and has no shame in stealing food if given the chance. He requires firm boundaries around food. Slow Transitions Required – Bingo has a history of separation anxiety when adjusting to a new home. While he can now be left alone for long periods without issues, his new family must allow him 3-4 weeks to adjust. Not Crate-Tolerant – Bingo has significant crate-related stress. While he can be crated in an Impact Crate with a bark collar for short periods, he does best in a home where crating isn’t necessary long- term. Protective Instincts – True to his breed, Bingo is wary of strangers near his home and will bark, making him an excellent deterrent. However, he warms up quickly with proper introductions. Not Suitable for Apartments – Due to his loud bark and need for space, he requires a home with no shared walls. No Small Animals – He has a strong prey drive and cannot live with cats, chickens, or small pets. Experienced Handler Preferred – Bingo benefits from an adopter who understands dog behavior, particularly around body language and resource management. He thrives with clear leadership and structure. Foster Home Insights Bingo has been with our family for 7 months now. He is a sweet, playful and sometimes naughty guy, who loves cuddling up on the couch, romping around the yard, and doing just about anything for a treat. Before coming to us, he had 4 failed adoptions, some not lasting more than 72 hours. Bingo struggled with severe separation anxiety in his previous homes, often leading to destructive behavior. However, here he has adjusted well. He is rarely crated and has shown no destruction when left alone. I work from home so we were able to work up to long absences gradually, and now he can be left for 8+ hours when needed. His adopter will need to be patient during his adjustment period to set him up for success. Bingo currently lives with two other dogs (one male, one female). While he loves playing with other dogs, resource guarding has been a challenge when sharing a living space. He is prone to quick, intense reactions around food and valued items, making management essential. While he has improved significantly, it continues to be a source of conflict between the dogs. This only applies to other dogs, and he has never displayed any concern or aggressive behavior towards people, big or small, near food or toys. However, there have been times when Bingo gets to be an only dog while my husband takes the others, and boy is life easier. It is such a joy to see him thrive - he loves toys and gets to play with them in the house, happily chews a bone while I’m working or away, gets lots of love, etc. and honestly I think this is the best path forward for him. He is fabulous on a leash 95% of the time but requires a confident handler or can get a bit unruly around things he wants to get to. He has improved exponentially in new places, I’ve taken him to jobsites, busy public places like Alki, and many pet friendly stores, he has been great. It can be a little overwhelming for him at time, and he needs good leadership, but I think with more positive experiences and exposure, he could become a really well balanced dog. The Bottom Line I adore Bingo. He is so deserving of finding his “person” and if I didn’t have the other two I would keep him in a heartbeat. He’s not high energy, a good romp in the yard or brief walk does him just fine. Athletic enough to enjoy an active lifestyle but settles in the house. Not destructive besides the occasional kids toy. Sweet and affectionate, loves to cuddle and has perfected the dobie lean. Never lets an empty hand go to waste and always nuzzles his face in for pets. Playful and silly. Great recall, no desire to run off just wants to be with his people. Protective, house trained, the list goes on. His challenges to me are really about the management with other dogs, and his extraordinary counter surfing skills. And while he’s not a fit for every household, for the right adopter, he will be an incredible companion. He truly is a good dog at heart, and anyone who has ever loved a Doberman knows how much they thrive with a family to call their own. I continue to hold onto hope that his perfect match is out there—someone who will see him for the incredible dog he is and give him the loving home he’s been patiently waiting for. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter (neutered Dec 2022), core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. He has lived in several foster homes and been adopted/returned 4 times with no adoption lasting more than three weeks. He has no bite history or history of human aggression. He has been in two separate foster homes with DGS for longer than 6 months each and we know him very well. Animal Profile: Rose and Sadie were found abandoned in Cheney, WA in 2020. They were rescued by a loving family and have been in a home ever since. Unfortunately, one of their owners suffered a life-alternating medical emergency that resulted in massive brain surgery. This person now requires round-the-clock care, and the dogs need a new place to call home. When we heard their story, we had to help! Rose and Sadie are both dog friendly and have lived with large and small dogs, as well as gone to doggy daycare. They are house and crate trained, and true to the breed would like to be your constant shadow. Rose and Sadie have been around children ranging from toddlers to teens. Rose can get a little tired of the small ones and will excuse herself to a crate if she’s done interacting. Sadie would love nothing more than to permanently attach herself to the kids. Sadie is overweight at 100 lbs and is currently on a weight loss journey. Rose and Sadie have lived together since 2020 and we would love to find these girls a home together. Foster Update: Coming soon! Story
Animal Profile: Pippin stole our hearts from the start. He was reported to our rescue partners in Del Rio, TX when he was spotted with a face full of porcupine quills. He was friendly, but wasn't quite trusting enough to be caught. Lucky for Pip, Animal Control was able to scoop him up and get him to our friends at Animal Advocacy and Rescue Coalition. Pippin was treated for his injuries, and went from a shy and shutdown dog to a bouncy, happy boy in no time flat. Pippin loves other dogs, is gentle with baby puppies, and has had exposure to cats. He is estimated to be about a 1 year old and weighs 32lbs. He is so ready to find his home here in the PNW, and we can't wait to be a part of his happily ever after. Pippin does need a canine companion in his forever home as he looks towards that companionship for guidance and reassurance. He’d do best in a single family dwelling outside of the city as he does have a fear of cars. https://www.facebook.com/reel/936399421594284 https://www.facebook.com/share/r/fZpUjYRg3yRkMukx/ Foster Update: Don’t let his doberman features fool you—Pippin is a pint-size pup who is full grown at just under 30 lbs. He is a happy little guy who hops and pounces around outside when he plays fetch, and entertains himself with his favorite ropes and chew toys inside. He is full of personality—curious, playful, and always ready for a good walk or hike, but also extremely cuddly, snuggly, low-key and loving. He loves both canine and human companionship and has been found snoozing and snoring on top of his foster brother multiple times. He’s a smart dog who has picked up house-breaking, crate-training, and general domestic manners as if he’s never known otherwise. Pippin would make a fantastic addition to any family looking to add another playful companion to their pack. Story
Animal Profile: Maggie is a sweet happy go lucky Doberman mix pup -- appx 1 year old and 50 lbs -- spayed female. She was a stray intake to the shelter and has a loving and affectionate personality. According to shelter volunteers she's extremely food motivated and very motivated to please. Plus, she's super playful and friendly with other dogs. She walks well on a leash and knows sit and down, but is still young and would benefit from more training -- which she should pick up very quickly!  More info to come as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Maggie is such a great dog! She is energetic and happy go lucky, but has a wonderful snuggle on the sofa off switch. Maggie does great in the apartment and knows our routine well. She is house and crate trained, and adores the large male Doberman in the home. In typical Doberman fashion, she wants to be where the people are. She is a fast, food motivated learner that walks well on leash with a training collar. Maggie does have some minor reactivity; but with a confident handler setting the pace she is easy to manage. She has great recall, but definitely has high prey drive around rabbits and squirrels. Honestly, she has been a joy to have and is going to make one family very, very happy. IMMEDIATE FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED ❤️ Greta struggles in a kennel environment and due to kennel stress, has a hard time keeping weight on. She would thrive in a foster or forever home where she gets lots of love, daily routine and the calmness a home can bring! Greta is a 3-year-old, Doberman Pinscher who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. She is very sweet, loving, and treat motivated girl. Greta came to us extremely underweight, and has had a hard time getting up to her ideal weight in the kennel environment, so she will require a home that is dedicated to bringing her back to health and helping her thrive! Greta would do well in a home that can work on leash training, but would love a forever home that takes her on daily walks and has a yard for her to explore and play. Greta knows some basic obedience already, but of course would love to continue learning more! She would do best as an only dog in a home or with a laidback male around her size, no cats or small dogs. Greta is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
Meet Emily Rue – Your New Adventure Buddy! Currently in a home and due to no fault of her own, is looking for a new forever family. Emily Rue is a sweet, affectionate, and social ~4-5 year-old pup who has blossomed into a confident and well-adjusted companion. She thrives in a stable, structured home where she isn’t left alone for long periods and has another playful dog to keep her company. Crate-trained and well-mannered, Emily sees her crate as a safe and comfortable space when left unattended. She enjoys outdoor adventures, structured training, and car rides, and she absolutely LOVES camping! She’s a fantastic walking partner, travels well, and enjoys being part of a loving family. While she can be shy in large dog groups, she quickly bonds with trusted companions and does well with guests in the home. She has even learned to coexist with a kitten. Emily is playful with her humans and enjoys engaging in fun activities. She has been around children but is generally indifferent to them. She knows all the basic commands, is essentially place-trained, and thrives on positive reinforcement training. While she’s great on walks, she still has some prey drive when off-leash, so she would do best with an active, outdoorsy family—especially one with another dog and possibly children. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, and well-trained companion to join your family, Emily Rue might be the perfect fit!

Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Animal Profile: Remy is an adorable purebred Miniature Pinscher who is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 13lbs. He would up in a southern California shelter after he was brought into a local emergency vet after he was possibly hit by a car. Remy was treated for possible fractured ribs when he arrived at the shelter, but has since recovered. He is very friendly with people and other dogs, and we look forward to helping him find the best home here in the PNW! Foster Update: Rembrandt (or Remy) can be shy with humans at first, but is friendly and affectionate and enjoys belly rubs once he warms up. Like most little dogs, Remy does not appreciate when humans stick their giant hands out his tiny head.  He’ll submit and let you pick him up still, but a little shy if reached or grabbed at too fast. Remy  loves to play fetch inside with soft toys. He can do it next to other dogs or one on one with a human. He is clear to be homed with cats. He loves being outside and gets extra excited when he sees a bird, so some prey drive exists, but not towards cats. He sleeps through the night in his crate and only whistle whines a bit when first put inside. He does cuddle once he gets some fetch zoomies out of his system. Remy is friendly with dogs and humans, but we would prefer to place him in a home with no kids or older children (10+).  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Rooster is a sweet gentle soul that wants to make friends with everyone he meets. He’s a smart boy that is very well behaved. He currently lives with kids, other dogs, cats, rabbits and sheep that he socializes with well. But he is a bit fearful of the horses. He’d thrive in a loving home that would spend plenty of time with him and take him for walks and let him explore.
