Story
Meet Tweety Bird! Tweety Bird is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).
Born on November 6, 2024, goofy Tweety Bird is that rarity in rescue. He’s a purebred! DNA testing on his sibling shows they are 100% Doberman pinscher. Tweety Bird displays the rust and red Doberman coloring, and we estimate he will be a large dog when grown (mama is around 60 pounds). His ears have not been cropped; his floppy ears frame his face and are really adorable. Part of our Looney Tunes litter, Tweety Bird traveled with his mom and eight siblings from a shelter in Devine, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area.
While the cartoon character he is named for can be, well, a bit mean and terrorizes poor Slyvester the Cat, our Tweety Bird is lovable, affectionate, and playful. He is quite content to sprawl next to you, upside down, while you relax. And he wholeheartedly believes people make the best dog beds! While he has cuddling down to an art, Tweety also likes to play and romp. Playmates such as children or other dogs are always welcome; this social boy enjoys company of all sorts. He definitely has the smarts for which Dobermans are known. He loves puppy puzzles, quickly figuring out his first one. His lick mat is also a big hit with Tweety, though he feels it should be more of a bite mat (more efficient way to get the treat off of it!). One of his favorite toys holds a bully stick, and he is quite fond of it, carrying it around the house seeking a nice patch of warm sun where he can settle in for a relaxing chew. After getting in his play time, snuggling (hopefully with a person) is next on Tweety’s agenda.
Tweety Bird is picking up his skills quickly. He will spend several hours in his crate, and he is progressing well through his potty training. Tweety has figured out how to come indoors using the doggie door and is working on using it to go outside. He will begin leash and obedience training shortly. Tweety Bird had an infection in his paw that caused some pain and swelling in his leg; he responded well to the medication and has recovered nicely.
Tweety Bird’s ideal home? It could be yours! This adorable pup seeks a home with people to love who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Being a Doberman, he will thrive on an active lifestyle and enjoys puzzles or other activities to keep him mentally engaged, too. Cuddles and snuggles, as well as fun chew toys, are a must for this sweet, affectionate boy. Other dogs and kids would be icing on the cake for him. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
About Path of Hope Rescue
At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.
We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.
Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.
