Story
Please share far and wide! Miss Frankie (Tootsie) is ready for her forever home. Could it be yours? Apply to adopt and find out. Please see below for more information. *** Overview: According to Google, she is a “Danish Swedish Farmdog,” and we couldn’t agree with them more! The Danish-Swedish Farmdog, once known as the Danish Pinscher, is a small, compact, and energetic dog breed that originated in Denmark and southern Sweden. They are known for being versatile, friendly, and people-oriented. History and recognition: The breed was nearly driven to extinction by industrialization, but was saved by a joint effort from the Danish and Swedish kennel clubs in 1987. *** Miss Frankie is amazing, smart and adorable. We may be biased b/c we love her so much! The sooner we get her adopted into a verified, wonderful and, appropriate home where she will be loved and thrive in, the faster we can go back and rescue another orphan. Please read bio below for more info. Thanks for sharing. *** Hi, my name is Miss Frankie and I weigh 17 lbs., am spayed, and my DOB is guess-timated as 4/28/24 I am microchipped and up to date with all of my shots. I am a very active little girl, curious about everything. I enjoy car rides, walks in cool weather and snuggles. I enjoy playing with other small, gentle dogs and meeting new humans who become fast friends. It’s a big world out there and I will rely on you to help me grow into the best canine rescue ambassador ever! It may take me a few weeks to get acclimated to my new surroundings, the layout of my new home and the family routine, but I will do my best if you give me a chance. Always ready for a walk or new adventure, I will thrive with positive reinforcement . I love playing, relaxing and napping. I am a goof! There’s not much I take too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! I will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff I really don’t want to do, because treats are life. I will even sit when asked for a highly valued treat! Like chicken or steak! Yum!! If you are interested in submitting an adoption application for me please email: info@KenMarRescue.org and write “Request for application for Tootsie,” in the subject line. I look forward to meeting you and having a wonderful life with you and my new family. Thanks, in advance, for checking out my profile and submitting an adoption application. *** Ken-Mar Rescue is a 501c3 charitable organization. Donations go towards the care and feeding of our orphans. The adoption donation is $500 and used directly to save future orphans. Application review is followed by a phone call if approved. Home checks are done via FaceTime or Zoom prior to each adoption. *** More about Ken-Mar Rescue - TV Appearances: Our orphans have been featured on various shows such as this one, K9 Corner, and consistently invited to "Good Day LA" Pet segments: https://youtu.be/7ZQJZ8Um-Jo *** Ken-Mar Rescue Yelp Reviews https://yelp.to/dr4UlKdAmF *** Additional Media: Somewhat dated video about us.  Ken-Mar Rescue has saved over 1,000 since our founding in 2007 https://youtu.be/R-mnilY2Yik?si=XyQUrv3ar67EmEgg Please note: We are located in Northern California, near Yosemite. So transportation logistics may be an issue. Especially if things do not work out, how would the orphan be returned to us?   Would you be the primary adopters? Responsible for future care, feeding and future annual vet visits and medical expenses?

Story
Benji is a hoot! This playful fella has all the happy antics of a young pup, but the experience to know some basics to being in a home. Benji walks good on leash, has good house-training manners, and enjoys a good romp in the yard before settling in for the night. Benji is at a great size too, not too big or too small at 40 pounds. His lineage is no longer a mystery as we had a DNA test donated, and turns out he mostly Australian Cattle Dog with a splash of Labrador and Supermutt! Benji is the number one choice for our Dog Day Out program and receives A+ remarks from his volunteer friends. He does well in the car, is up for any adventure, and really enjoys a pup cup at the end of the day. Although Benji has done well at the shelter hanging out with other dogs, he's shown jealousy tendencies when he's in a home, so he would do best as an only dog at home (no kitties either, please!). Benji would be a great choice for someone looking for a friend that can still keep up on walks or hikes, but is over the puppy stages of things. He'd also do great with someone who road trips a lot or even does full-time travel. The best way to get to know Benji is to come meet him yourself and talk with his caretakers. They're here Tuesday-Saturdays 9:30AM-3:00PM and would be happy to introduce you! A wonderful bonus- Benji's adoption fee has been fully sponsored! Benji is approximately 6 years old and weighs 40 pounds. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on all his flea/tick/heartworm preventatives! Interested in adopting?
