Story
Beautiful Maya came back to us after being adopted as a puppy. Her adopters were sad to see her go, but we promised them that we'd find Maya the perfect home. Maya is a very fearful gal who will require multiple meet and greets with her adopters to truly feel comfortable. We believe she'd do best in a quiet home without kids under 14. Once Maya warms up to someone, she is a gentle lady who loves cuddles. She loves fetch and bacon-flavored treats. She has some resource guarding tendencies that would be further discussed with any potential adopter. Story
Bru is a special boy who needs a special home. It can take him a while to warm up, but once he warms up to his people, he is a wiggly, playful boy with lots of love to give! Bru LOVES playing fetch and playing in the pool. Bru is potty-trained and very, very sweet. Bru can be somewhat shy with strangers, and he can be easily frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Because of this we are hopeful that his future home will be a quiet one without children under the age of fourteen. Bru does have a history of resource guarding which will be discussed further at the time of adoption. Due to his history of resource guarding, he may do best as only pet. Story
This handsome hunk is Pluto. He could certainly win America's strongest dog competition. But don't let that fool you, he does have some leash manners. Pluto's motto is "anything you can do I can do too". As a deaf dog Pluto doesn't let it stand in the way of living life to the fullest. Pluto needs someone who will commit to proper training so that he can be his best self. We highly encourage you to research training deaf dogs before you fill out an application. While it may not necessarily be harder, it is certainly different. At this time, we are still trying to determine if he would be good with other dogs. Because he is still working on himself, tiny humans wouldn't be recommended. Pluto is estimated to be about 3 years old. **PLEASE NOTE: We only do meet and greets with dogs by appointment. To meet any dog, you will need to apply and be approved first! **To start the adoption process, please complete our online adoption application at our website http://www.henrycountyhumanesociety.org. We will contact you once your application is approved and set up a time to come and meet Pluto. Filling out an application and meeting Pluto doesn't mean you are required to adopt if you feel it is not a good fit for you.

Story
This gentle giant is Hunter. He is estimated to be between 2-3 years old and got along with both large and small dogs. He also does well with kids. Hunter has had two homes in his short life so we are looking to make this his last. He has lived both indoors and most recently on a farm but slept in the garage at night. He did not do well with the chickens and that is how he ended up with us. We will schedule a time for you to come meet him if your application is approved. Due to being short staffed it is hard to do dog meet and greets without an appointment.

Story
Rumble and her sister were found on the side of the road, starving and coated in ticks. We put some food in their bellies, got all the ticks removed and treated, and now they're happy puppies waiting for a home of their own! We are not sure on her breed, but we suspect she is a shepherd mix. To be the best puppy she can be, she will need lots of socialization and positive reinforcement. Unfortunately, Rumble was returned to us when her owner could no longer care for her. She is now spayed and up to date on all of her shots. She is in a foster home until her forever home is found. Rumble loves squeaky toys and loves playing tug-of-war. She will soon be a year old so still has lots of puppy energy. DOB 2/1/2023 **To start the adoption process, please complete our online adoption application at our website http://www.henrycountyhumanesociety.org. Story
If Jalapeño Popper were to compete in track and field, his event would be the high jump! We have found this boy can easily jump out of a 6ft fence. Something we discovered because he came in as a stray and we had no information on him His long legs certainly help with this but he is an athletic boy! m. He is maybe almost a year old and is a bit timid at first. His high jumping skills and sometimes exuberant personality makes him a better candidate for a home that likes to be active and doesn't have young kids. He will soon be getting neutered and vaccinated and then will be ready to meet visitors. Get a head start and get your applications in today! We will schedule a time for you to come meet him if your application is approved.
