Story
Binny is a goofy 60lb, 8 y/o lab mix. He has had TPLO surgery on both legs so has slowed down some and would be happy with walks at this later stage in his life. A yard to get some zooming around in is certainly a plus. Crate trained, leash trained, responsive to commands, and housebroken. He is initially reactive to other dogs, he'd need some time and patience to build those relationships. He's best off being the only dog in a home if possible. He does great with kids and hasn't had issues with cats he's met. A very loving dog who loves to zoom when given the opportunity but also likes to relax and sit in the sun!

Story
Oakley is a great dog, we rescued her from a farm and she is super sweet. She is very energetic and loves to play but needs someone to be with her more. My husband and I work a lot and we just rescued her to try and give her a better life and vet care but there just isn’t any time for her like she deserves. She is partly potty trained but mainly stays outside in her dog house. She does pretty well inside and usually does not have many accidents. She needs a family that can play with her and children that have time for her as well. She does great with kids but I would recommend older children just for her energy level but she’s not aggressive at all.

Story
Lottie is one of our longest residents here at ECAC. This girl has been at the shelter for 8 months and we cannot believe no one has scooped her up. Lottie is the BEST girl. She is the sweetest girl to her people and all of us here at ECAC absolutely adore her. She is a 3-4 year old Great Pyrenees. She is completely house trained and does well with cats. Her favorite toys are the smallest squeaky toys that she loves to throw into the air and around the room. When she gets excited she prances around the room and loves to play a game of catch me if you can with her people 😂 She absolutely loves to be brushed and will sit there for hours enjoying her best life. All in all Lottie is the best girl... however she does have some quirks that come with her. Lottie came to us after living with an older gentleman. It was always just the two of them so unfortunately she wasn't socialized properly. Being a Great Pyrenees it is in her DNA to guard so she tends to stick close to her people. You can always find her close by and she loves to lean up against her person for pets 🩷 Lottie does well meeting new people without "her" people being around so a special meet and greet with her could be arranged. Lottie needs a home with very low traffic or a home where she could be put up when company comes over.

Dwight was originally adopted as a puppy and sadly returned to the shelter after a year. He is looking for a new furever family that won't give up on him. He is a large dog and a DNA test done by one of his siblings has revealed that he is 64% Doberman! He is used to living indoors and was likely potty trained before being returned. He is very treat motivated and picks up on new tricks very quickly! This boy loves to learn! He is very smart and needs a somewhat active family willing to play and exercise him every day. He is such a cool dog. If interested in adding him to your family, please fill out our application on our website at effinghamcountyhumanesociety.org
