Story

Hi, my name is Sheila and I'm 15 years old. I was adopted when I was 7 years old and returned when I was 13 years old. I was returned because I had severe anxiety when it stormed or when there were loud noises. My family lived in the path of an airport and the planes flying over caused me to have anxiety. I am back living with the foster family that I lived with before I was adopted. My foster mom says I am one of the smartest dogs she ever met. I am friendly and greet visitors at the door. If it's just one person I lay on the floor and just relax. If there are many visitors I greet them and then relax in a different room. I do pace when there are thunderstorms. My foster mom said one time I used the bath tub as a safe place during a storm. I am guarded with men I don't know. I don't live with any other dogs or cats. I have learned to accept other dogs when I go to the groomer. I do not like being in a crate. I do best in a home where I am the only pet. I am house trained. I am available for immediate adoption. I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped. My adoption fee is $100. He seems very dominant when other animals are presence. Current owner is residing in nursing home. With the uncertainty of coming home. He is a low energy guy. Doesn’t need a lot of exercise. Content to just lay on lap all day. Good watch dog. We are a senior couple. Wife has Parkinson’s and dog wants to be on lap all time and is constantly a danger being underfoot now. We rescued him as a pup 10 -11 yrs ago and are having constant concerns about him tripping up my wife.

Story

Floyd lived his first four years in a kennel too small for him, barely ever getting out of it. He's learning how to be loved in his foster home, and has come such a long way. He's a Lab and Mastiff mix who is almost 5 years old now. There's still a road ahead of dedication and training that he'll need, so we're searching for the right family that will be able to give him just that kind of love. Floyd is treat motivated, so he's responsive to training; but, does need to eat and drink separate from others, or needs to be the only pet in the home. He LOVES to play and run, and is a super toy chewer dog! His foster family is slowly getting to cuddle with him. It's all new to him so patience, understanding and love is the key to this fellow's heart. As are all EARS dogs, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and currently receiving monthly prevention for flea/tick and heartworm. Copper, a 9-yr old heeler mix, is looking for a new forever home. He knows basic commands like sit and shake, and is still playful but loves to lay on the couch and nap with you too. Copper gets along with other dogs, and doesn’t mind cats inside but is more curious about them outside. We think a home with older children who have dog experience would be best, as he's getting a little feisty in his old age. Copper has developed a bit of loud noise anxiety, and his foster family is working through it with him. He's an awesome dog looking for a place to chill. Story

Lottie is one of our longest residents here at ECAC. This girl has been at the shelter for 8 months and we cannot believe no one has scooped her up. Lottie is the BEST girl. She is the sweetest girl to her people and all of us here at ECAC absolutely adore her. She is a 3-4 year old Great Pyrenees. She is completely house trained and does well with cats. Her favorite toys are the smallest squeaky toys that she loves to throw into the air and around the room. When she gets excited she prances around the room and loves to play a game of catch me if you can with her people 😂 She absolutely loves to be brushed and will sit there for hours enjoying her best life. All in all Lottie is the best girl... however she does have some quirks that come with her. Lottie came to us after living with an older gentleman. It was always just the two of them so unfortunately she wasn't socialized properly. Being a Great Pyrenees it is in her DNA to guard so she tends to stick close to her people. You can always find her close by and she loves to lean up against her person for pets 🩷 Lottie does well meeting new people without "her" people being around so a special meet and greet with her could be arranged. Lottie needs a home with very low traffic or a home where she could be put up when company comes over.
