Story
Maya is an adorable and sweet girl who is always ready for love and attention. She is around one year old and 47 pounds. Who can resist her short legs, and big, square head, especially when it’s matched with an even bigger personality. She is a playful and friendly pup who loves going on walks, especially if they include cuddle breaks. She is still learning manners and commands, but she is a smart girl and is willing to learn. She has been on a hike with some volunteers, and their two smaller dogs, and she did wonderfully. She handled the car ride, new dogs, and a lake full of geese amazingly well. She loved being outside and going on an adventure. She also had a playdate in a home, where she used the bathroom outside before and after coming in the house, but not while inside. She also played with the two dogs she has gone on a hike with in their home and did really well. Her young, puppy brain doesn’t understand how much bigger she is than the smaller dogs, so she needs more training, or to be in a home with dogs closer to her size. Maya is ready for her own family to play and cuddle with.

Story
Titus is a sweet, 52 pound guy who came in as a stray. He’s patient with being harnessed, but is still working on his leash training. He loves to take his time on his walks taking in all the sights, sounds, and most importantly smells. He’s got a crush on our other shelter dog, Maya, and he loves to boop her through the fence and try to paw at her to play. He was walked with another shelter dog, Milo, and they did great. They were both very excited, and ready to play together with their little tails going the whole time. He was however in a fight with another of our shelter dogs, Tank. He hasn’t shown any aggression towards any of the other dogs, but he immediately didn’t like Tank for some reason. He ended up getting walked by two less experienced volunteers at the same time as Tank, and they didn’t keep enough distance between them. They were broken up and there were no injuries, and the very next day he was back to his loving and friendly self. He was snuggled up against the chainlink to be beside his crush, Maya, and didn’t show any aggression to his other kennel mates, males included. He hasn’t given off any aggressive vibes towards people or other dogs, besides Tank, since then, and he is still happy to sit for his harness to go for a walk. He was walked and introduced to another of our male unneutered shelter dogs today, and he did great. They walked alongside each other with tails wagging, and when they finally went in for a sniff they were both very respectful and did well together. He’s a sweet boy who is just selective about who he gets along with, so he'll need to be introduced to any animals in a home who may be interested in him.

Story
Tank is a beautiful 1 ½ year old, 64 pound boy with gorgeous eyes of two different colors. He’s a playful and energetic guy who loves going on walks and is already doing well with his leash training. Tank has been walked alongside our other shelter dog, Minnie, and they both did very well although they didn’t get to come nose to nose. They both stayed relaxed, with tails wagging, and didn’t really pay much attention to each other. He has also shown no aggression towards his kennel mates through the chain link. He was however in a dog fight with another of the shelter dogs. He didn’t seem to be the aggressor, and it was with Titus who had already shown dislike and aggression towards him through the chainlink. Titus has gotten along with every other dog, but he didn’t like Tank for some reason. They ended up getting walked by some less experienced volunteers who ended up walking those two at the same time without keeping enough distance between them. Nobody was injured and they were able to break them up, and he’s been his friendly self ever since. Since the fight he has been tested with another of our female dogs and they walked very well together and came in for a sniff with no problems. They were happy to walk alongside each other with tails wagging, and they stayed calm and friendly throughout their nose to nose meeting. Unfortunately Tank has tested positive for Lyme Disease, but he’s still a happy guy who isn’t showing any negative side effects. He would love to find the perfect family to give him a chance.

Story
Minnie ended up at the shelter under bad circumstances that had nothing to do with her. She is a sweet and friendly girl who loves attention. She is up to a happy and healthy weight of 57 pounds. She is very patient with being harnessed and is always so excited to go for a walk. She walks well on a leash and loves being outside. She hasn’t come nose to nose with another dog for a temperament test yet, but she walked alongside our other shelter dog, Tank, and they were both relaxed, with tails wagging, and just happily went about their business. She also noticed a cat outside, but was easily redirected to continue on her walk. She’s a happy girl who deserves to find a home where she’ll be loved and cared for.

Story
Summer came in as a stray, and we were surprised when nobody came to reclaim her. The volunteer who found her and brought her in said that she wouldn’t get out of the car without having her leash on, so we assumed since she was trained that her owners would come find her, but no luck. Her stray hold is now up and she is ready to find her new forever home. She is a sweet and playful 1 year old girl who weighs around 35 pounds. She knows the sit command and is doing well with her leash training. She’s an energetic girl who can barely keep her butt down long enough for the sit command to get her treat, but that still counts, right? lol She was introduced to another of our shelter dogs, Tank, and they did very well together. She’s definitely ready to start playing with a family of her own.

Story
Hello there, I'm Azora, a spirited 3-year-old Pit Mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life! I'm ready to bring a whole lot of joy and companionship into your life. I've got energy to spare and a playful spirit that's infectious! Whether it's a game of fetch, a run in the park, or some exciting outdoor activities, count me in. I'm ready to be your active partner, joining you on adventures and keeping the good times rolling. My walker described me as a very friendly and sweet girl, and I wear that title proudly! I'm a people-lover through and through, and I can't wait to be your loyal and affectionate companion. My charming smile and expressive ears are just a glimpse of the warmth I'll bring into your life. I'll be honest - I can get a bit reactive around other dogs, so it's important to introduce me to new furry friends with care. My walker noted that I might do better with some space from other dogs. A bit of patience and gradual socialization might be the key to helping me feel more comfortable around my four-legged counterparts. I am heartworm positive but the treatment for that if provided by the shelter once I'm adopted. You just have to make sure you have time to bring me in for two sperate treatments. The adoption staff can go over that with you in more detail. I'm looking for a loving and patient home where my energy and affection will be cherished. While I might need some extra guidance when it comes to interacting with other dogs, I promise to shower you with love and companionship. If you're willing to work with me, I'll be a loyal and devoted friend for life.
