Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hellooooooooooooooooo (said with long hound bray)!  My name is Autumn Daisy, but most people call me Gracie.  I am a three-year-old, spayed female coonhound mix!  My pictures make me look huge but I'm actually more medium sized, weighing in at 35 pounds.  I am up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and ready to gooooooo!   I ended up with the wonderful people at Tired Dog Rescue after I spent a duration of time at Jackson County Animal Shelter without any interest (insert sad hound face here).  I have been patiently waiting for my forever home but seem to keep getting overlooked for some reason.  I am not a fluffy doodle, but I have SO much love to give!  I do have a lot of energy and would love an owner that is ready to have a partner to take hiking, running, and adventuring.  I am a true hound and love to follow scents.  I need an owner that understands how much the nose leads a hound and is ready to keep me from getting myself in trouble!     I am great with kids and really love any humans!  I love attention and turn into quite the cuddle bug!  I am kennel trained and love to play with other dogs!  Frolicking and sprinting around in the backyard is one of my favorite activities!     Speaking of yard - I do need a very secure yard - this is a must.  At least a six-foot fence with nothing for me to climb to get over the fence (the nose makes me do it, I swear!  There are squirrels out there!).  I also learned how to dig so I will need an owner that is willing to supervise me in the yard until I learn that that behavior is not acceptable and could lead to an escape (again....the squirrels just smell so good out there!)  I know I can learn!  As long as I'm secure and given daily activity, I am a happy, happy girl!     I do need a home without cats.  I really like squirrels, and chasing squirrels is so much fun for me.  Cats really remind me of those pesky squirrels, and I just can't help myself!     I had a dream the other night that my new human trained me to be a tracking dog!  We learned to find scents and we took so many adventures into the woods together!  I woke up to a rerun of Sherlock Holmes on the TV and decided that I just need to be a Detective!  Special Detective Gracie!  How fun would that be??!  Let's find all the things!!  Let's solve all the crimes!!     I have been waiting for so long for someone to come along and think I am just the perfect dog.  I KNOW I am but now I just need a human to see that and make me a part of a family.  I've always dreamed of having my own humans!  Someone that adores hounds and knows their behavior and quirks would be ideal but I'm willing to show you the ropes as well and make you a fan of the HOUNDS!     If you think I would be the perfect addition to your active home, give me a HOWWWWLLLLLL at www.tireddogrescue.org today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 3:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Brody, affectionately known as Rudy Rude, a 10-year-old Dachshund weighing in at 10 pounds. This little guy is always up for an adventure, especially road trips, and is quite the enthusiast when it comes to toys and car rides. While he's sociable with other dogs, Brody can be wary around unfamiliar humans, making him best suited for a child-free home. His compatibility with cats is uncertain. Brody thrives with patient caregivers who understand his breed and are willing to ease him into new situations. He's highly motivated by treats, making training a breeze. Neutered and well-trained, Brody is generally healthy but requires daily medication for his nervousness. Although he has a history of biting, with time and care, he's expected to settle into his new environment. If you're experienced with Dachshunds and seeking a devoted companion, consider welcoming Brody into your home through Tired Dog Rescue in Gulfport, MS. The adoption fee is $75, and applications can be submitted at tireddogrescue.org.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 3:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Logann!!  I am a two-year-old brindle male terrier mix and weigh seven pounds!  I am neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all my shots. I have PERSONALITY for days!  I am a terrier through and through and always eager for playtime or some speed walks on the leash.  I would make the BEST camping, hiking, biking, jogging buddy!  Let's see if you can keep up!   I am still pretty young and didn't have much, if any training, before coming to Tired Dog Rescue.  My foster mom has been solidifying my house training and helps me with learning appropriate behaviors.  I love to play, play, play with other dogs and sometimes she has to remind me to take a break!  I would love another high energy dog as my companion, but I am also equally happy as an only dog.  I don't mind getting ALL the love!   It's unknown how I am with cats but it can be tested before adoption if needed.  I would do best in a home with no children or older respectful children would be best.  I am a terrier and can be a little rambunctious and mouthy. I am a work in progress but everyone that meets me falls absolutely in love with me.  And my pictures just don't do me justice!  You really need to see me in person to appreciate how cute I am!!   If you think a feisty terrier would be a good fit to your active household, please apply today!  www.tireddogrescue.org  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 3:47 pm
