Story
Roman is a 3 year old neutered male terrier mix. Roman originally came in as a stray in July of 2021, and sadly found his way back here in February of 2024. Though Roman has had quite the eventful start, he remains a kindhearted, lovable dude! Roman is a total love bug. Roman is a gentle boy that loves walks, hugs, scratches, toys, and attention. If you are looking for a beach buddy, Roman is your guy! He loves to swim. Roman is great with kids! Although Roman is heartworm positive, he has already finished his heartworm treatment! It takes 6-9 months for a dog to test negative after their last heartworm shot! If you are looking for a gentle companion Roman is the perfect match. Come stop in and meet him today!

Story
Hi guys. My name is Sparkles. I am here at the Humane Society, AGAIN! Of course it was by no fault of my own. I was picked up as a stray in September of 2023. The first time I came into the Humane Society I was picked up as a stray as well. I was here in April of 2022. Of course my stay the first time wasn't a long one, it only took someone a few days to come and find me at the shelter. Yet here I am again. They only had me for a year. I was adopted from the shelter as a 2 month old puppy, and after a year of having me as their forever friend, I guess my cuteness wore off and they decided just to let me run free. I do not know what happened or why they just let me go, but they did and now I am stuck here at the shelter a second time, and boy has this time been a long one-since September 19, 2023 to be exact. I am considered heartworm positive; however, I have finished my heartworm treatment on January 16, 2024! Thank you to the Humane Society, I love you for that. Although my stay at the shelter has been a long one, I am told now that I have finished heartworm treatment, in roughly seven to eight months I should test negative for heartworms and there is a 98% chance that this test will come back negative. I am hopeful and looking forward to the possibility that someone will love me enough to come and scoop me up out of the shelter. I am a playful girl at just two years of age. I am considered heartworm positive until the next test in about seven to eight months (I am sure I will be negative by then), I am already spayed, and I am ready to go to a home that will love me as much as I am going to love them. I am happy-go-lucky, energetic and spry, and friendly as can one can be. I look forward to getting to meet you soon, and I am hoping that I can win you over so that I can get out of this shelter my last and final time. I just want a home that will love me for who I am. If you think that I might be the perfect fit but you have other dogs at home, I was told the Humane Society does meet and greets where I can meet your dog at the shelter to see if I will get along with them. They have also told me that they offer slumber parties, I don't know what those are because I have never been to one, but the team here tells me that you can go overnight with someone at their house for a few days to see if I would fit in at someone's house. Man, that does sound like a dream come true. How about we give this a go? Would you be willing to be my forever home? Come be my dream come true, come rescue me! Love always, Sparkles.

Story
Meet Desperado! ??Oh, he ain't gettin' no younger His pain and his hunger Are cause he wants to get a home Freedom, oh freedom Well, that's just shelter people talkin' His prison is walkin' through this world all alone?? At just 2 years young, this pup is on the smaller side of medium which is very desirable to adopters and he meets puppy criteria but is just about past all those puppy shenanigans! He LOVES to play and enjoys mixing it up with other canines so could easily be added to a household with other dogs. This little guy is already neutered and can go home with you the sane day! Don't keep him singing the theme song for which he was named! You should be desperate with desire to call him your own! Desperado is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative. Regularly his adoption fee would be $50, however, we are frequently running adoption price specials due to our high volume of animals. Give us a call to inquire about current fees.
