Story
Mercury's love for people is as boundless as the universe, and with a slow and patient introduction, he transforms into a true lovebug. His expressive eyes and wagging tail tell the story of a pup eager to connect and create a bond that lasts a lifetime. Once he knows you're a friend, he'll be your most devoted companion, offering endless cuddles and tail-wagging joy. However, Mercury's celestial charm is unique, and he requires a home where he can shine as the solo star. He has shown aggression towards other animals, so a pet-free environment is essential for his happiness and well-being. Mercury thrives when he can be the center of attention, basking in the love and companionship of his human family. Mercury's ideal home is one filled with understanding and a commitment to his need for exclusive affection. A secure and calm environment will allow him to blossom into the affectionate and loyal companion he longs to be. Whether it's a quiet evening on the couch or an outdoor adventure, Mercury is ready to share his love with a family who appreciates the unique brilliance of his personality. Story
Nina is a high energy, fun loving girl who is always ready to play! She loves to engage other dogs in play and would fit best with other high energy, playful dogs that are as big as or bigger than her. Nina enjoys tug of war, wrestling and running with her foster dog sister. She often brings a toy to get the party started! She plays fetch quite well and this game is a great exercise outlet. Nina is very athletic and agile! She loves exploring, bounding and chasing. This beautiful girl is still a puppy at heart and would love a home with lots of appropriate chew bones and toys. When it is time to relax Nina enjoys cuddling and lap naps on the couch with her humans! She loves fuzzy blankets too. Nina learns quickly and knows many basic commands including Sit, Stay, Wait, Down, Come, Leave it, Off, Drop it, Go potty and House. She is smart, curious and sensitive. It takes her time to get used to new people and situations so she will need someone who is patient and willing to teach her about new things. She is highly food/treat motivated and responds to positive praise and lots of attention. She is crate trained for nights and when her foster family is away, though she prefers to be with her people. She does not have much experience on leash but is very trainable. Nina has adapted well to the foster household routine. She is used to having someone home most of the day and enjoys romps in a large, fenced property throughout the day. If you are interested in meeting her, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org or call 775-846-3773.July 15, 2024, 10:23 am

Story
I'm a lotta Girl, 75 pounds &#194&#151 who wants (and gives) a lotta love. Sadly, my owner died and left me an orphan, but his long-time rescue friend took me in. Breed?: Yellow Lab neck down, and Pittie neck up. I have the Lab 'love water' (love to swim!) and 'sniff everywhere' in me. I am TOTALLY a respectful house guest. I don't get into anything I shouldn't. I love the dog door access to the yard, and don't ever try to escape. And, I am fine home alone. But I sure enjoy my people being around too. Walk in fit in! Pretty well adjusted if I say so myself. Please have a king size bed because I like to sleep with my person. But if you want me to stay on my bed, I will do your bidding. No problem. Oh, I like to sing with fire engine sirens. You can join in! I like to play with my squeaky toy &#194&#151 or go on short walks (45 min- 1 hour): on trails or downtown! I walk/trot on a leash &#194&#151 at varying speeds (per my Mom's pace). I have learned to live compatibly with the resident kitty. My Mom trains me well. : > )). Not so good with other dogs though. I prefer my home to be an 'only dog' home. And my Mom makes sure I don't get into trouble when out and about. She has rules about good manners (and avoidance). I have congenital stuff going on but I have learned to compensate really well. Mom thinks I am triple jointed!!! : > ))) And the glucosamine MSM etc, good diet, and exercise with my foster Mom, has really strengthened me up and I have no pain. Geez, been managing fine for 5 years, but better now - living the good life. You will be surprised when you see how I can move!! : > )) &#194&#151 and maybe you will learn something about resilience -- and compensating that works!! And gotta love my underbite smile, and black mascara! Beguiling! I love to tour in the car -- but would appreciate a low riding float boat. My ride used to be a Dodge Charger: I am COOL. Please give me a chance to charm you! Contact is my foster Mom, Robyn, in Carson City. She will only adopt to local folks and likes to speak with you on the phone, go over your application, and do home visit to see where I would live. She also asks for a donation to WARF &#194&#151 they do such great things for us needy pups. Thank you for reading about me, come meet me! 775-240-5142 phone/text.
