Story
Nala is a 7 year old beagle (will turn 7 in July 2024). She is a purebred, tri-colored beagle from Santa Fe, NM. Her parents were both beagles and had a liter of 7 puppies. Nala is a very friendly, outgoing dog. She is a hound and can be a little loud if she sees lizards, rabbits, things she could hunt (as that is in her nature). However, Nala has never been trained to be a hunting dog and has never actually hunted anything, she just makes noise and chases things. Nala will need time to adapt to other pets, but she gets along with them. She has never been mean with any other animals. Nala is great with children and people in general and would do well with a home where she gets a lot of attention. Nala can be lazy but can also be energetic. It depends on what you ask of her! She is house trained and can use a dog door to go to the bathroom.

Story
We adopted Felix from the Santa Fe animal shelter in may 2019. Only15 pounds, he is affectionate and alert, we have been taking him on hikes regularly and he has been super healthy, teeth and all, is very attached, and has been on road trips and camping. We have done a fair amount of dog training, he listens to basic commands, will do anything for a treat, is intelligent and eager to learn. He is small but not a lap dog, even though he loves to cuddle all the same. Good with house sitter. Being a terrier makes him very protective when it comes to his home. He barks and growls at anyone coming to the house and has nipped visitors feet under the table. Thats why we would love for him to find someone who loves training with him and provides a calm, nurturing home. No family pet. With grandchildren in our future and our health needing more attention, we want for the little guy to find someone more energetic, equally caring as comfortable setting boundaries.

Story
Gidgi was adopted over 9 years ago from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. She is a sweet dog, doing well with other dogs and people. She has never bitten and is not aggressive. Gidgi does better with stability, meaning when her owner or trusted people are around and mostly consistent. She does get anxious when left alone long periods of time, so a best fit for her is someone who works from home or will take her to doggy day care. Gidgi has lots of energy for long walks/hikes and is quite athletic. With this said, he does not cause mischief at the house, unlike some other high energy breed dogs. Our family moved out of the country last year and friends were watching our house and pets. When that ended, I returned home to deal with the house and re-homing Gidgi. We are on a short timeline to place her, as I need to return to my family across the globe.
