Vivian is a beautiful young blue Merle smooth coat female collie. She is approximately 2-3 years old and 55 lbs. Vivian is a very special girl that came from a hoarding situation of about 200 collies, Her happy place revolves around other dogs, which make her feel comfortable and confident. She loves to run and play and has a tendency to hop around like a bunny rabbit when playing! She is a very sweet girl but is not a cuddler. She is very cautious around humans and is progressing. Vivian is house trained and uses a doggie door. Vivian needs a home that is calm and relatively quiet. It is a must that she has a furry friend that will give her the comfort and confidence she needs. Her family will need patience and understanding to continue her progress. Texas applicants only.

Story
Introducing Beatrice and her Brood! Bea was very pregnant and rescued from a shelter. A shelter is no place for a momma and her babies. Beatrice is about 1.5 years old and 50% collie. We do not know who the daddy is but the babies seem to have some Aussie and maybe border collie. These puppies are a healthy and happy "Brood"! Bea has done a wonderful job training her "brood". They were born May 6, 2024. The puppies will be up to date on vaccines and micro-chipped. Fenced yard required. Apply at www.HoustonCollieRescue.org

Story
Marty is a gorgeous boy with a heart of gold, literally! When he came to rescue, he had a very serious heart murmur, but thanks to the amazing medical team at Texas A&M and the kindness and generosity of our supporters, he was able to have an expensive procedure done on his heart to help fix it. Now he has a much happier and brighter future ahead, and his condition is being managed now by taking one simple and very affordable medication. Marty is the sweetest boy! He loves everyone he meets and gets along with dogs and people of all sizes. He has never met a cat, but his foster mom thinks he would likely do well with them with a proper introduction. He is playful and likes to go on short walks. He has a tendency to walk right next to his human with or without a leash. He can be a bit of ham and loves to give you his paw or roll around on his back to get attention. He is sure to bring lots of love and smiles to anyone he meets. Marty is around three years old, 60 lbs., and is crate and house trained. He sometimes barks a little bit when he first goes in the crate but settles quickly. He should be crated when not supervised, at least initially, because every once in a while he gets up to some puppy shenanigans like finding a slipper instead of a toy to play with. If you give this sweet boy a chance, he is sure to steal your heart.

Story
We originally adopted him from BARC. Have had him since 2015. I got divorced in 2021 and Biggie had been with my mom since 2020. She was going to keep him, but there were issues with other dogs in the home, and some behavioral issues with my dad. He is good with males, but my dad was aggressive towards him. With proper introduction he does well with males and other strangers. He does good with calm older kids, not small toddlers. I took him back in 2021 but have had sever issues with timing, and my mental health. I cannot give him the attention him the attention he needs or deserves. I am gone for long hours in the day and he has been having accidents in the apartment. He is VERY affectionate. Loves attention and cuddles, he does get up on the furniture, he walks very well on a leash, does obey basic commands like sit, heal, and down. He stays in the kennel when we are not home although I do try to keep him out sometimes. Must go to a home where he gets love and attention.
