Story
I volunteered to bring 2 dogs to a shelter for an older woman who was going to an extended rehab center. little did I know nobody could take them. trying to find placement with no luck. What I know about them is 1 boy (Rocky-the brown one) and 1 girl (Roo-mainly black one). they had their 1st set of shots as puppies (although I don't have proof or know the vet name), not spayed/neutered. have been together their whole lives, almost or about 1 year old, chihuahua mixes. female is clearly pregnant. they are timid and scared of strangers but definitely warm up and are super sweet. they are scared of other dogs, they like my cats and get along great with my 8 year old twins. I am desperate to find them a safe space as I cannot keep them.

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
He will be just at a year June/July 2024. He is truly a genuinely kind, affectionate, and loving dog. Loves children and other dogs so, so much. He is medium sized at about 53lbs. I found him on the side of the road when it was about 106° out. The original owners didn't want him back. My roommate wanted him but did not have the setup for him--- so I have had him. I have two older 5 year old female dogs. They get along great, but they don't match his energy. He would thrive with a young and/or active family with another active dog. He has had history of chewing when he is bored. I feel confident this would be alleviated with a better energy match. He is crated trained, house trained, and up to date on shots. Handles car rides well.

Story
We found Maverick in Bakersfield Ca He was born Aug 18th 2022.we are hoping to find him a home in a ranch or farm were he can thrive. His first year and a half he grew upon 5 acres and had little contact with the world. Now that we moved to the city he has grown a little aggressive towards people and has nipped my nephews back, I believe it is part of being a border collie but also he could use some behavioral training that I just cant afford it.

Story
Belle is a 7-1/2 y.o. registered (spade) pure bred lab. She’s sweet and good with kids, cats and other dogs. She has been hunt trained by a professional trainer…however, to our knowledge has never been under a gun. She is obedience trained and handles well. Her history before coming to our home, was that of a hunting dog…she was kenneled and never lived with her owner in their home. Since we’ve had her, she’s lived in the house with us…she is house-broken. She’s a good traveler and loves to ride on a gator. An ideal home would be a family or owner with a fully fenced yard or very large acreage. She deserves a home with kids, or an active hunter. She likes to take off and hunt on her own. So why are we seeking a new home for her? She deserves more than we can offer her at this time. We are in our 70’s and 80’s…and simply don’t have the energy to meet her needs.

Story
Sophie is a mid-sized dog but loves to lay on the couch and cuddle. She is great with other dogs and loves to play outside or just lay in the sun. She is low-maintenance and very loving. She is 5 years old and would be great for a family with older kids or maybe a family that wants to skip the puppy phase and go straight to a house-trained dog. She can follow simple commands like "sit" and "outside". Sophie will be everyone's favorite because she is so sweet and always greets people with a smile (which often times is confused with snarling).

Story
Tanner is a submissive loveable young male with gorgeous blue eyes. Very smart and trainable. Loves to play with toys kids or other animals. Great guard or working dog. Not neutered. My Great White Pyrenees is about to go in heat again and I can’t handle anymore puppies. Both are fantastic dogs but I’m too old for these big dogs. I live alone and 6 dogs are too much for me to care for plus I don’t give them the attention they deserve. I can feed and water them but tending to their coats is too much. So many weeds that get stuck in their fur that requires a lot of effort to remove.
