Story
Dennis the menace was a pretty cute kid. Therefore I am cute too! I am an adult, with puppy-like exuberance for life and food! I arrived at the rescue with my wife (Dee Dee) and our kid (Donna) after being left in our backyard when our "family" moved. Can you imagine? I gave them 3 years of devotion, and they just leave me like an old newspaper..... So, enough about my sorted past, let's look at my BRIGHT FUTURE!!! I am a handsome guy, full of love for life. I love female dogs, male dogs are more challenging because I am an alpha sort of dog, with the females I am fine- even dominant females like my Dee Dee. I am a good 60lbs, I'm such a big boy who makes for great cuddles! I am a good protector of your home and my people. I won't let those pesky neighbors over, unless you invite them ;) I have lots of fun running and playing and I would be a great outdoor adventure buddy! Let's get on the trails and go! Dennis can only be adopted in the local area. Local adoption fee is $200.

Story
HELLO YA HELLO it’s me Sieta  - Please take a look at me.  I have been with my foster family for a few months and boy have I grown. Mom says I am turning into a beautiful, graceful long legged girl! My foster mom says I am practically prefect in every way. I love every human big and small.  I love having dog friends also big or small meet as well. I’ve spent some time with 2 temp fosters because mom & dad went on vacation. Both of them said I was amazing! Deb even said I walk on a leash better than her dog!! I love going on walks, hanging on a patio as well as playing fetch. Mom lets me play tug for a few seconds when I bring the toy back but as soon as she says “give” I let go. I know sit, down, off (I very seldom jump up), come or touch and am working on shake. Mom is so amazed with how smart I am, she keeps telling people I am training myself. I just want to please everyone. I bark some when people walk by, my foster sisters taught me this, but if mom or dad tells me to stop I listen. I love going to new places and exploring! I do get sick in the car so mom and dad make sure they don’t feed me too much if we are going somewhere and I take Dramamine. This has helped a ton! I am about 90% potty trained. I sleep in my kennel at night but would really love to snuggle with you. I am a love bug! One of my siblings got adopted and his furever family did a DNA test. It shows he is 52% Argentine Dogo and 100% good dog. I have met so many amazing people and all I want is people of my own to love unconditionally.  Gotta go – mom wants to play fetch. Hope to see you soon. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 11:35 pm

His birthday is around June of 2020, a pandemic puppy! He came to rescue over two years ago with his deaf sister, Amara.. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Angus knows " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, he reads from his foster mom's body language. Angus loves to play outside with his sister and smell all the smells. He loves to have toys so much that he'lloften race inside so he can gather up all the toys (especially from his sister's kennel before we notices) and hoard them in his kennel. He has a wonderful relationship with Amara, his sister. It would be nice if they were adopted them together but it's not required. We ask that he be the only other animal in the home, except for his sister, just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". Angus does not have a mean bone in his body but he's a bit of a bull in a China shop kind of boy! He just likes to run fast and slide through his turns! A fenced in yard is required so Angus can be free to explore and smell all the smells. This boy will steal your heart the minute you meet him. He's always happy and greets you with a smile on his face. ##1971033##

Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: unknown Good With Kids: unknown Kennel Trained: Yes Age: Approx. 3-1/2 Years Adoption Fee: $ 450 Fee Includes: Current vaccinations, microchip If you want to be considered for adoption, fill out an application at emotionalrescuedogs.org Amara has been in Rescue for two and a half YEARS, looking for her special family! Be still my heart, Amara is a big, sweet, loving, Deaf Dogo Argentino. She's a Pandemic Puppy with a birthday around June, 2020. She came to rescue over two and a half years ago with her deaf brother after they were dumped by their owner. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Amara knows sign language for " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, she reads from her foster mom's body language. She is happy to please and leans in for love! Amara loves to go for car rides, play outside with her brother and smell all the smells. She likes to have toys too. So many toys! She has a wonderful relationship with Angus, her brother. We would love to see them adopted together but that isn't mandatory. We recommend that she be the only other animal in the home (except for her brother), just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". This big girl is a cuddler. When she's all snuggled in, she has the sweetest snore. Once she is adopted and settles in, you'll wonder how you ever survived without her. She's the missing piece of the puzzle your life needs. A fenced in yard is required so Amara can be free to explore and smell all the smells and explore to her heart's content without needing to keep you in sight so she can "hear" you. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Canines for Clean Water event in Powderhorn Park near the Community Center (3421 S 15th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407-2234) for an Adoption Event - Thursday, Aug. 22nd from 6:30-7:30 pm. Stay for the Movie in the Park at dusk: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hi there! I’m Stella, a 3-year-old Boxer Bulldog mix. I’m a relaxed and lazy girl around the house, always on the lookout for a cozy spot to chew on my favorite bone or snuggle with my foster siblings and humans. One of my favorite pastimes is watching the neighborhood squirrels from the window—I've gotten so good at calmly observing them without barking! My favorite toys are filled bones, my two beloved pink toys that I love to shred, and a stuffed elephant with a squeaker that I love to destroy. While I'm not the biggest fan of being outside, I've grown to enjoy my daily walks, especially now that I'm more comfortable on a leash. A big yard with a tall fence would be great for me, especially for potty training and using up some energy. If you don't have a fence, we can go on daily walks together to get my exercise.  Once that is out, I'm a happy couch potato.  Having another dog in my foster home show me how has been helpful.  I'd love another dog my size in my forever home, but I could be an only pup, too, if you humans are home often and promise to spend time with me.  Speaking of potty breaks, I’m doing great with potty training, although have had accidents in my kennel. I usually go potty on the concrete or the back porch, but I’m learning to use the grass too! I’m very smart and have been working hard on my house manners and know some cool commands like 'Sit,' 'Come,' 'Kennel/Crate,' 'Outside,' and 'Go Potty.' I absolutely adore kids, but I can get a bit excited and might accidentally knock over small children. I’m working on being gentle but don’t always know my size. I love to play with other confident dogs after a slow introduction and enjoy running and playing with them. I do get excited around cats at first, but once I settle in, I mostly ignore them. I’m what you would call a high-energy dog and it can appear as high energy reactiveness when I meet new dogs, so an experienced dog owner that can do proper introductions would help me remember to be polite and thrive.  Once I settle in and we get that excited energy out, then we can Netflix and chill and nap together.  I’m a sweet, loving girl who would thrive in an active family with dog experience and perhaps some kids to play and cuddle with. I need a confident pet parent who understands different play styles and dog body language to monitor me during playtime. I promise to bring lots of joy and love to my forever family. Could that be you? Love, Stella *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Come say hi! I'll be at Lonsdale Community Days 8/10 from 11-1 at  104 Railway Street N.W. Lonsdale, MN 55046 Hi! I’m Colton, the silliest boxer mix boy there ever was. I live for toys and I trot around like a champion and show it off to my humans when I find a good one. I also love to go on walks with my humans. We are working on not pulling on the leash and I am a quick learner but do need a reminder once in awhile.  No fenced in yard needed for me, but hey, if you had one, that sure would be fun to run around in and patrol your yard.  I am potty and crate trained, too. Smart huh? I would love to keep learning new things and take an obedience class with you so we can be the smartest duo the world has ever seen.  I would do best in a home with an active owner and either a female dog, a non alpha male dog, or your only dog so we can be besties.  As far as humans go, I love all of them and if you promise to love me, I will happily return the favor with kisses and adventures.  I haven't met any young kids, but when I get excited, I jump for big hugs and would likely knock small ones over.  Also, if they had snacks in their hands, I'd assume they were giving that to me... right? So, I'd probably be best with older kids.
