Story
Meet Zephyr, the sweetest cat around! Zephyr is known for his friendliness and curious nature, and he's always ready to get pets or have his long fur brushed. Zephyr can also be playful - he enjoys joys chasing wand toys, little springs, and anything with catnip. While great with people, Zephyr would prefer to be the only cat in the home. To learn more about how to adopt Zephyr, please fill out an adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LDAC/Cat) or email questions to cat.adoptions@lostdogrescue.org.

Story
Beautiful long hair 5 year old boy, fixed, up to date on shots, housebroken. Rafiki is very playful and active. He loves toys and running around the house. He always uses the litter box and does not scratch furniture. I would love to find Rafiki a calm home where he is loved, spoiled. He needs to be the only pet in the home, he gets nervous around children.

These pups are in Arlington, Virginia too!

Story
Veronica’s Personality Veronica is a striking chocolate brown Birman-mix with a cute white tipped tail and beautiful blue eyes. Veronica must have been royal in a former life because she certainly acts like a Queen! After a little time to settle into a new place, Veronica views you as her personal servant. She expects you to admire her and serve her every whim!  Veroinica is very affectionate, greeting you at the door when you return home. Once inside, she follows you around the house. Veronica loves hanging out with you. If you are working from home, she is usually playing or napping nearby. If you are working on a jigsaw puzzle, she climbs into the box to be close by. If you are sitting on the couch, Veronica likes to sit on your lap or next to you. And she likes to find ingenious hiding spots such as the top of a curio cabinet. She does shed a bit but she loves to be brushed, especially on her cheeks. Veronica’s tail is very expressive. When she spots a squirrel outdoors, her tail twitches like crazy and she runs from window to window to follow the squirrel’s progress. Sometimes her tail twitches as if it’s not her own and then she’ll chase it. You can't help but laughing at her. She is also good at finding one of her toys and playing with it by herself. Type of Home Veronica Needs Veronica MUST be the only cat, and the only pet, in her forever home. She has lived with other cats and has made it clear they annoy her so she doesn't hesitate to chase them away. She also needs a relatively quiet home - ideally with adults - where she gets plenty of attention. A home with an older cat-savvy child would be fine. When living in a multi-cat home, she gained a bit too much weight and is now on a strict portion-controlled diet which needs to continue. Where Veronica Came From Veronica came into our care from a loving home after her caretaker's failing health made it difficult for her to care for Veronica.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. March 13, 2025, 10:07 am
