Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cat InformationRecently, a kind-hearted stray cat began wandering around the church, clearly abandoned and in need of help. With coyotes nearby and the danger of heavy traffic, we knew we had to step in. We’ve named her Mia, but sadly, there was no way to find her previous owner or confirm if she was chipped. Mia is a sweet and friendly cat who deserves a safe and loving environment. She’s now in our care, but what she truly needs is a forever home where she can be cherished. If you’re interested in offering Mia a new beginning, please get in touch. She’s ready to bring joy and affection into your life!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 11:25 am

Story
Noni is a sweet, independent and laid-back 2 year old cat. He loves staring in the window, playing fetch with his favorite spring toy and late night cuddles. He loves to play as he is still very young. And if there’s a fly in the house, rest assured he will be determined to catch it. I rescued him as a stray during pandemic as a friend for my dog during the days I had to work. He’s good with both dogs and cats as long as he is gradually introduced, he will adjust over time. He’s easily persuaded with food and treats. He HATES being brushed and will try to bite the brush. But he will let a groomer touch him so no worries there. He’s up to date on all of his shots. My boyfriend is allergic and the medicine he takes is starting to not work anymore. Plus since we moved from Cincinnati I had to take a lower paying job so affording him and my dog had become a bit much for us. We are looking for someone who can give the proper cat love he needs.

Story
HyperthyroidMeet Trent, a sweet and loving senior kitty with a heart of gold. Trent was found abandoned in the cold outside our adoption center, left in a carrier on January 13, 2024. Despite this rough start, Trent's resilient spirit and gentle nature shine through. Trent is a handsome tabby with a lush, dark brown coat adorned with striking black stripes. His expressive amber eyes tell a story of resilience and hope. With his plush fur and dignified presence, Trent is a picture of classic feline grace. Trent has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, a condition that requires daily medication and consistent but manageable medical care. Despite this, he is a healthy and active cat who is neutered, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Trent is a calm and affectionate senior who loves to lounge in cozy spots and soak up all the love he can get. Although he is a bit shy at first, Trent adores being petted and will quickly warm up to gentle and patient affection.  He enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like a warm bed, a good meal, and the company of a loving human. Trent's mellow demeanor and gentle nature make him the perfect companion for a quiet and caring home. His story is one of survival and hope. By adopting him, you'll not only be giving a deserving senior cat a loving home, but you'll also experience the unconditional love and companionship that only a cat like Trent can offer. His special needs are easily manageable, and his gratitude and affection will more than make up for the extra care he requires. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and serene companion, Trent is the perfect match. Give Trent the forever home he deserves, and you'll gain a devoted friend for life. Come meet Trent today and see how much joy he can bring to your home!   **This cat is currently in a foster home and arrangements can be made for a meeting once you have applied with us. Story
DOB: 2/27/2023 "With a name like Norma Jean, you would assume I am an 85-year-old human, but this assumption would be inaccurate. I am actually a 1-year-old dilute tortie seeking my forever home. Despite my youthful appearance, there's a timeless elegance to me that evokes the glamour of days gone by. However, behind this vintage-inspired facade lies a shy and gentle soul. I may not possess the confidence of a Hollywood starlet, but I have a heart as tender as a love song from the past. I've spent much of my young life tiptoeing around the edges, observing the world with cautious curiosity. Yet, despite my timid nature, there is a quiet resilience within me. With patience and understanding, I believe I can blossom into the confident and loving companion I know I can be. All I need is a gentle hand to guide me, a safe space to call my own, and a bit of time to come out of my shell. So, if you're looking for a feline friend with a vintage charm and a heart of gold, consider giving me, Norma Jean, a chance. With your love and support, I know I can shine as brightly as the stars of yesteryear, bringing joy and warmth to your home for years to come." Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! Story
FIV+Meet Buddy, a charming and resilient black cat with a heart full of love and a story of survival. With an estimated date of birth of March 4, 2017, Buddy came to Colony Cats around his seventh birthday after being caught in our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program in Blacklick, OH. Despite his rugged appearance, Buddy is anything but feral—he’s a gentle soul looking for a loving home. Buddy’s distinctive chewed-up ears add character to his already unique look, telling tales of his adventures on the streets. He was named “Buddy” by our volunteers because of his incredibly friendly and affectionate nature—he's the kind of cat who will follow you around, always eager to be by your side. Buddy is FIV+ and FeLV-, which might sound intimidating, but with proper care, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a slow-acting virus that affects a cat's immune system, similar to HIV in humans. Regular vet check-ups, a nutritious diet, and keeping Buddy indoors will help him thrive. FIV is not easily transmitted and can only be spread through deep bite wounds, so Buddy can live safely with other non-aggressive cats. Buddy has been neutered and vaccinated. He’s had some teeth removed, meaning he would do best with regular dental care and a diet of soft food. He also has a heart murmur, but these conditions don’t slow him down.  Black cats often get overlooked, but we’re hoping that won’t be the case with Buddy. This mature boy was surviving but not thriving outside, so he was brought in to find a loving home. Now, he’s ready to start his search for the home of his dreams. Imagine having a loyal companion who will greet you at the door, follow you around the house, and cuddle up with you in a comfy sunbeam. Buddy is a big love bug who craves attention and affection. He’s ready to share his endless love with a family who will cherish him. Come meet Buddy during open hours at our adoption center and see for yourself why he’s the perfect addition to your family. Buddy is ready to find his forever home and fill it with love and companionship. Don’t let this wonderful cat get overlooked—Buddy is waiting to become your best friend. Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CATS ARE BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. Kuro is a sweet & affectionate 6-year-old boy who loves attention. He has excellent litter box habits and gets along well with other cats. He does like to chat with you at times, especially when he is new to his environment. After he becomes familiar with it, he quiets down. It is not excessive at all, just lets you know he is there. Kuro's story - He was found outside in a feral colony in Laredo, Texas. The colony caretaker realized he was very friendly and not truly was not a feral kitty. She worked to earn his trust and contacted Maine Coon Rescue to see if we could bring him into the rescue. Kuro bears the scars of his life on the street, with a tattered left ear and scars on his right ear and missing a few teeth. These are cosmetic. None of this has affected his purrsonality. He is so sweet and loving.  Kuro is a hefty boy. Once you gain his trust all he wants to do is be with you. He will head butt you to pet him and will make "biscuits" on you to show you he loves you. Despite his size, he is very gentle, even with his other kitty brothers and sisters. He knows his name and will come out when you call him.  He has a couple different voices, which are funny. First is his squeaky meowy. Second is his purr rumble. Third is just a plain purr. His foster Meowmy has not yet figured out what they mean - maybe you can decode them? They are funny to listen to and just add more to his sweet character. He LOVES to be brushed. He will just sit there or move around so you can brush him. He never tires of it.  Kuro is FIV+. Although Kuro tested positive for FIV, he can live a long and healthy life with proper vet care. He MUST be kept inside.  To learn more about FIV, please click here. Kuro is very gentle with other cats. He is not aggressive. He gets along well with other cats. He can live in a home with other cats as long as they are not aggressive. He has been with other cats who are not FIV+ in his foster home and there have not been any issues.  Kuro is sensitive and becomes very attached to "His" person once trust has been built,  he will always be your best friend! He cannot be around any dogs! (No Exceptions). Whoever adopts this boy will be getting a gem of a boy. He survived street life and is still sweet as sugar. He must be adopted within 150 miles of Columbus, Ohio. Kuro's adoption fee is $175.00. This includes Neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Flea Treatment, Dewormer, Combo Test (neg/neg), wellness exam, and microchip. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cat Information Polly is the oldest cat we have at 18yo. She has had an amazing journey which we have published a children's story book on. Polly was lost in 2016 and found in 2022. We were able to get information on the owner and original shelter who adopted Polly out as she had a microchip. Unfortunately, the owner who was an international student in 2016 had returned to China. We agreed to take Polly after approaching the original rescue and they did not want to take back Polly. If you would like to give Polly a great home in her golden years, please stop by to meet with her! She is better as an only cat.
