Story
Violet is a sweet and gentle 16-year-old brown tabby that was adopted from AFRP as a kitten, and returned to our care when her guardian had to move to a senior living facility. Violet is a happy, affectionate, talkative and curious cat that will be a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a mellow feline friend. She is a wonderful lap cat and enjoys being near her person. She gets along with other friendly cats and might do okay with a gentle, respectful dog. Give Violet a soft blanket and gentle petting, and she is in kitty heaven! Violet is in good health though she does have a condition known as Chronic Feline Rhinitis. This common condition is likely due to a non-fatal virus she acquired as a kitten. This causes Violet to experience congestion, nasal discharge and sneezing. Potential adopters can rest assured that a cat with chronic rhinitis is safe to have alongside other cats. It's similar to humans having a common cold. It's unlikely to spread to other feline companions. With proper care and management, Violet can lead a happy life alongside her furry friends without posing a risk of making them sick. Scheduling appropriate veterinary check-ups and implementing hygiene practices will help ensure a harmonious and healthy environment for everyone. As a result, Violet's adopter will need to work closely with their veterinarian to monitor Violet's health and prescribe a course of treatment when necessary. Violet will come with low-cost wellness care through AFRP's clinic as a part of her adoption! Violet is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been received and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our required online application.

Story
Introducing Ziggy! A staff favorite here at AFRP, this handsome senior kitty is on the look-out for his new bachelor's pad. Ziggy was adopted from us back in 2011 and unfortunately found himself back in our care 11 years later when his owner could no longer keep him. Ziggy is looking for a quiet, adult-only home. A large handsome cat, Ziggy is an endearing grumpy old guy. He is looking for a home where he can get love on his terms. He enjoys being petted or played with, but only in moderation. For much of the day, he prefers to nap, observe the yard from his window or catio, or simply coexist with his humans. He can become easily overstimulated by petting or too much activity around him and would do best with an adopter, who has previous experience with cats and can look for signs of overstimulation. He loves playing "chase" with toys, is a cat-tower connoisseur, and enjoys watching the birds out of the window. Ziggy is not very fond of other animals and would do best as the only pet in the home, but he may be able to coexist with another mellow cat or dog. He is on a special diet due to food allergies, this is something that he will have to remain on for the rest of his life. The good news? That doesn't slow Ziggy down! He LOVES his food and he loves his meal-times. If you're looking for an older guy, Ziggy is the one for you! Ziggy is also available to foster if you're not ready to adopt yet! Ziggy is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been received and approved.

Story
Introducing Peter Brady! Peter came to AFRP with his two brothers (Bobby and Greg - lovingly deemed The Brady Bunch) from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. All three of them were born with a congenital defect known as eyelid agenesis (missing eyelids). They all received a special surgery to reconstruct their eyelids and now, they're ready to take on the world with a new point of view (literally)! Due to his medical condition, Peter had a rough start, fearful of most things because he wasn't able to see well. Although he had a slower start to his life, it hasn’t affected his sweet and loving personality at all! Peter can be shy initially, but he is a very sweet, gentle and loving cat once adjusted to his new environment. Peter enjoys playing with his brother Bobby with whom he is bonded and the two of them are looking to be adopted together. Peter and Bobby are looking for a quiet home with children over the age of ten or adults only. They would do fine with other gentle cats or dogs after slow introductions. Peter is on a daily eye drop (artificial tears). He does very well with his medication and is used to receiving it. He also recently started a special diet for food sensitivities due to some persistent chin acne, which can be a sign of allergies. Peter is currently at our adoptions location inside Pet Food Express at the Crossroads in Carmel. Fill out an application online and come meet Peter and Bobby at Pet Food Express!

Apart from the daily eye drops he doesn’t have any ongoing medical needs, but his right eye is malformed and he may require some further treatment for it later on in life. Bobby is currently at our adoptions location inside Pet Food Express at the Crossroads in Carmel. Fill out an application online and come meet Peter and Bobby at Pet Food Express!

Greg enjoys food, naps in a warm sunny spot - you’ll often find him relaxing on his back once he’s comfortable in his surroundings. He plays nicely with other cats or with toys. Greg is an easy, quiet companion who’d do best in a fairly quiet home. He could be the only cat or live with another gentle cat or a gentle dog-savvy dog. He is not fond of rambunctious animals. It's very important to do slow and gradual introductions to ensure Greg’s comfort. Greg Brady is currently in foster care. Story
Introducing Autumn! This sweet senior kitty was returned to AFRP after her previous owner could no longer care for her. Now, she's looking for her new furever home! Autumn is a shy but sweet girl who has shown she has a tortie-tude! She is an independent lady who needs an experienced adopter that can respect her boundaries she sets, as well as has experience with cats who can be timid initially. She loves to give head-butts and head scritches, but is just as happy to nap nearby her humans! While she is in her golden years, Autumn is still fairly active and would love to find a home with adult-only adopters at this time. She prefers to be the only cat in the home as she is not a fan of dogs and has not been around other cats. Autumn will come with continued low-cost wellness care through AFRP's clinic as a part of her adoption! Autumn is currently in foster care. An in-person meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been received and approved.
