Story
I came in as a stray cat and it’s been a scary last few months. Don’t misunderstand me, though; I may hiss, but as soon as you start petting me, especially little scratches around my neck and behind my ears, I start relaxing and purring a bit. It’s just that finding myself here, I wasn’t quite sure what to do at first. I do seem fine with cats. I am a sweet and gentle, petite girl that hopes my stay here will be a short one; all I need is for someone to ask about me.

Story
I was originally picked up as a stray and while my rescuers looked around to try to track down my family, unsuccessfully. They said that once I was settled, I was very sweet, very vocal and could easily be trained with treats. I enjoy bird watching, playing, riding on people’s shoulder and of course relaxing in your lap. I’m even quite handsome I’m told, and can be very fashionable. So if you enjoy taking pictures of a guy always ready to purr, maybe you will let me be your model…and your only cat. I am available for permanent foster, which means you could take me home so we can share all the love and Save-A-Pet will cover my vet care for the rest of my life! Story
When things quiet down is when you generally get to see me. I enjoy watching the birds or just even daydreaming in the sun. Lounging by myself is no fun so I always make sure to find a couple of other cats to snuggle up for my nap. I love chasing toy mice around the room, especially if no one is looking. I do enjoy getting my head and chin rubbed, there is a special trick and you will have to ask them, then I may even relax and lay down and allow petting on my back. If your cat is looking for a friend, I am ready.

Story
Stinky (born in 2012) is a spayed female brown tabby shorthaired cat. Stinky was trapped and spayed as an older kitten and returned to her colony. Unfortunately a few years later she was struck by a car and although she was lucky enough to survive, she did suffer several fractures in her lower spine. The spine injuries left her unable to control when she urinates or defecates but her caretaker had developed a bond with her and chose to continue caring for her until sadly he passed away in late 2016. She needs to be on stool softener twice a day to keep her system moving without conscious muscle control but thankfully she happily eats them on her own mixed in with a little wet food. She will need to be on those meds the rest of her life and obviously she requires more clean up than a normal cat and needs to be kept in a small, easy to clean area like a large dog crate, bathroom or spare bedroom with smooth flooring most of the time. Because of her outdoor kittenhood Stinky can be a little slow to warm up to new people but once she gets used to someone as one of her caretakers she loves to be petted and acts a lot more friendly. She has done well with the toddler in her foster home but because of her spinal cord damage we think Stinky needs to avoid excessive stress and would do best in a quieter home with no dogs or where she could be kept separately.

Story
Daisy (about 7 years old as of April, 2023) is a female black and white shorthaired cat. Daisy was born to a feral mother cat who had literally been dumping her kittens at one of our caretakers' house for years. They finally caught her but she was about to give birth, so these lucky kittens have been inside their whole lives. Daisy is a very vocal kitty who likes to meow about things as she goes through her day and will sometimes call out to figure out where people are if she wanders off alone expecting someone to call back to her or come find her. That sounds awfully needy but she is actually the most independent kitty from her litter. She is sweet and affectionate but doesn't want to cuddle until she is done playing and doesn't feel the need to be on top of someone smothering them every time she gets a few pets. That said, when she is in full cuddle mode she loves serious, firm pets so strong they pull the skin around her eyes back and exaggerate her already naturally silly long skinny face. She is very energetic and alert which can make her seem jumpy or skittish, but it's really just her goofy, playful nature showing. She does well with older kids and mostly gets along okay with most of the other cats in her foster home, but has had conflicts with a few of them and mostly keeps to herself so she might prefer living with only the one cat she always gets along with- her sister Primrose. We're hoping we can find a family willing to take them both, as the last time we tried to separate them they both were miserable. She hasn't ever lived with a dog and with her more sensitive nature and at her age she would probably be overwhelmed

Story
Primrose (about 7 years old as of April, 2023) is a female black tuxedo shorthaired cat. Primrose was born to a feral mother cat who had literally been dumping her kittens at one of our caretakers' house for years. They finally caught her but she was about to give birth, so these lucky kittens have been inside their whole lives. Although Prim was the last kitten to decide people were good despite what her wild mama told her she has made a big turn around and is now a super well adjusted and loving little girl. She follows her foster mom around like a lovesick puppy. She likes to quietly bug her people for attention, sitting and staring at them expectantly until they give in and pet her! Primrose purrs over just about anything in the comfort of her foster home and although she doesn't always love being picked up held she loves to cuddle on the couch for hours at time getting petted, getting little kisses on her little muzzle, and returning the affection by chewing on her friend's hair. She chirps with delight when she is really excited about something and loves to play. Prim has done well at adoption events with kids when she was younger but we think in her forever home she'd do better with older children. She gets along great with other cats but her favorite cat in the whole world is her sister Daisy, and after many years they don't do well separated, so we're looking for a family that could open their home to both of them. She hasn't had any dog experience and at her age may not be able to keep an open mind on them.

Story
It's a good thing that cats have nine lives because Mittens needs them all. This playful kitten was born with a curved spine and swimmer's legs, a congenital condition that affects the legs of kittens, causing them to splay out to the sides instead of under their body. We have taken care of her legs and she now runs and plays like a happy kitten. Mittens also has a pretty significant heart murmur and may need medication in the future. As far as Mittens is concerned, she is a normal kitten and she enjoys running, playing and doing all the things normal kittens do. There is a chance she will be a special-needs cat for life. We know there is a special person out there who will love Mittens for who she is, not what she has. If you are interested in adopting Mittens, we will provide you with detailed information._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Mittens is $ 200.00WANT TO MEET MittensThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Mittens and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. Story
Blue came to us with his mom Liberty and littermates Red and White around Independence Day. He is a cute tabby kitten who loves hanging with his mom and playing with his siblings. Kittens thrive best in pairs so they have a companion and another kitten to play with. For their emotional well-being we suggest you consider adopting two kittens. If you already have a cat at home a single kitten may do okay if it has the companionship of your other cat.We highly recommend that you learn more about single cat syndrome, introducing a new cat to the home and keeping a new cat safe in your home as he/she settles in. There are countless good videos available on YouTube. Educating yourself and your family makes for a much easier experience adopting a pet._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Blue Jay is $ 200.00WANT TO MEET Blue JayThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Blue Jay and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. Crumbles wears her heart on her side for all to see. She is such pretty girl! Curious and sweet, she is sure to win your heart. She does not like to be held for long but is making slow progress & working on that with her foster family. She loves her cat toy wands and mice but isn’t a fan of most treats. She loves to see what her foster family is up to, and her presence always lights up a room. She does ok with good dogs and ok with other nice cats. Crumbles will shy away from her siblings if they play too hard for her taste. She would do best with being paired well in a super sweet cat home to avoid her potentially being bullied. She would also do well in a single cat family. Home is where her heart is and Crumbles is waiting for her forever one! rh
