Story
Hi, my name is Topaz and I am about 10 years old.  Me and my 2 litter mates were strays found in the window well of a house during a rain storm when we were about 8 weeks old.  The homeowner did not want us to drown and brought us to BCHS.  I have never been very sociable or outgoing as a kitten.  I usually hide when people enter the room.  I still am very shy and timid.  I need a person who will be patient with me and give me as much time as I need to acclimate to a new environment. Sometimes I prefer interacting with younger people instead of adults. I get along with all the cats I live with in a community room at the shelter.  I am available for immediate adoption.  My adoption fee is waived.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me please complete an adoption profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds or returns is available upon request. October 24, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Becca and I'm about 4 years old. I was rescued as a pregnant stray and brought to Bond County Humane Society so I could find a loving fur-ever home. After a few weeks my 6 kittens were born, and now we are all ready to be adopted. I am a pretty dilute calico. I am very laid back. I am rather shy and still getting used to being held and petted. I am considered Special Needs because when I was tested for FeLV/FIV, I tested negative for FeLV, but positive for FIV. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. The most important things for me are a low stress environment, good quality food and regular veterinarian care. It is extremely important for me to stay healthy.  There are other FIV positive cats in my room, and I get along well with them. I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $20.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.March 10, 2025, 2:34 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Dumplin and I'm almost 2 years old.  I was found with my mother and siblings as a stray when I was 5 days old and taken into a Bond County Humane Society foster home for several weeks. My foster mom said I am shy and timid, so it takes me a while to get used to new people. Now I live in the shelter with some other adult cats. When the mood strikes me I like to play with toys. I like to play with the tower of jingle balls. I think the furry toys are fun to carry around!  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee has been sponsored by an individual.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request. Story
Hi, my name is Freckles and I'm about 3 1/2 years old.  I was a stray and rescued by a BCHS volunteer, and brought to Bond County Humane Society to find a loving permanent home.  I live with another FIV positive cat at the shelter. I am playful and like to chase bouncy balls. I like to get to know you before I want to be petted.  Of course, this is all on my terms.  I determine when and how long you can pet me.  I love to explore and look in all the nooks and crannies around the shelter. I am considered Special Needs for a couple reasons.  First, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).  FIV is comparable to AIDS in people. Second, I was also diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) which requires me to have a special diet.  It is extremely important for me to stay healthy.  I get along well with the other cat in the FIV room at the shelter.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee has been waived.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request. Story
Hi, my name is Tatiana and I am about 13 years old.  I was originally abandoned at an apartment building and a BCHS volunteer found me.  I was adopted in March 2012 and returned to BCHS in July 2013 because my adopter was placed in a nursing home.  I am shy at first and hide a lot until I get comfortable with my new surroundings.  I am on a special diet.  I have had a couple urinary tract infections and the special food reduces the chance of crystals forming in my bladder.  I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and require daily medication.  I did have a severe case of Vasculitis that resulted in part of my one ear and part of my tail being removed.  My vet has recommended discontinuation of future vaccines because of my compromised immune system. I need to have no stress in my environment. You can sponsor me for as little as $15.00/month.  This is the cost for a month's supply of my medication.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is waived.  If you are interested in adopting me please complete an Adoption profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.    A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds, or returns is available upon request.October 24, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
This house panther is such a sweet guy. He loves ear and jowl scratches. He gets along with 4 small dogs and 3 other cats. We would not recommend young children with him, maybe 12 and up. We would imagine he would do fine with bigger dogs. He is just a very chill guy.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Yzma is a one-of-a-kind cat with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Facing a neurological condition that affects her mobility, she doesn’t walk like most cats—but that doesn’t slow her down. Instead, she’s perfected her own unique way of getting around by flopping herself from place to place with determination and charm. Despite her special needs, Yzma is a happy, playful, and affectionate companion. She uses potty pads and eats independently, though she appreciates a little support. Her condition isn’t progressive, and she’s otherwise completely healthy—just delightfully different! What Yzma loves most is interaction—whether it’s playing with crinkle balls and wand toys, or snuggling up with her favorite humans. She has a sweet way of calling out and reaching for attention when she wants to be held, making her a deeply affectionate companion. She approves of other cats and is cautious but respectful around dogs. Yzma may be different, but her spirit is unstoppable. She’s looking for a loving home that appreciates her unique charm and is ready to embrace a cat who brings joy, resilience, and endless cuddles into their life.

MEET ROSIE 2 Year old Female Meet Rosie, one of our bird watcher enthusiasts here at the shelter! Rosie is the embodiment of sweetness with just a little touch of independence! When it comes to receiving love, Rosie has her own terms. She'll saunter over for a cuddle on her own time, and belly scratches are only permitted when she demands them with a gentle paw tap and a purr that melts the heart One of Rosie's favorite pastimes is watching the world pass by from the comfort of a nice sunny spot inside...as if she's the queen of the neighborhood Rosie would prefer to be the queen of the house, but she would also be okay coexisting with another kitty friend if she had to!

FELV PAWSITIVE FOSTER SPOTLIGHT✨ Jake 🐱 Male - 4 Years 💙 Here’s what Jake’s foster mom has to say about him: Jake is a typical affectionate orange cat with a loving personality!❤️ At 4 years old, he never passes up an opportunity for a pet or cuddle! He enjoys roughhousing with his foster siblings🧶, chasing the laser pointer, and receiving plenty of snuggles, headbutts, and head pets!🥰 His only dislike? Being ignored, he truly can't stand a lack of attention or affection, he’s the most lovable guy!☺️ Jake has been waiting for far too long for his forever home – all because he’s positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) But don't let that scare you away – this PAWSitive Pal has so much love to give! 🐾💕 FeLV-positive cats can live happy lives and fill your home with joy, snuggles, and purrs. While his diagnosis does come with some considerations before adopting, he deserves a chance at a wonderful life, just like any other kitty!🏡❤️ Jake has been overlooked for too long, and we know the perfect family is out there who will see beyond his diagnosis and embrace the love Jake is ready to share!🌈

Meet Blu! This low-maintenance queen is the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. She may be a little shy at first, but once she settles in, her quirky personality shines. Blu enjoys her alone time but will always snuggle up next to you for some quiet companionship. She’s easy-going and loves playing with wand toys, but she isn’t a fan of too much noise or chaos. She would do best in a calm home without a lot of foot traffic. If you’re looking for a chill, lovable cat who respects your space but still wants to be your best friend, Blu is your girl!
