Story
Hi, my name is Tara and I'm 6 years old.  Me and my litter mate Toby were rescued by Bond County Humane Society from Bond County Animal Control when we were 14 weeks old.  I am sociable, but quiet and laid back compared to my litter mate.  I like to lay on a perch and watch everyone. I can be coaxed to play, but I'm content to be a bystander.  I am shy about being held and petted. Sometimes I like interacting with younger people better than with adults.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped. My adoption fee is waived.  If you are interested in adopting me please complete an adoption profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.    A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds or returns is available upon request. August 19, 2024, 9:35 am

Story
Hi, my name is Topaz and I am about 9 years old.  Me and my 2 litter mates were strays found in the window well of a house during a rain storm when we were about 8 weeks old.  The homeowner did not want us to drown and brought us to BCHS.  I have never been very sociable or outgoing as a kitten.  I usually hide when people enter the room.  I still am very shy and timid.  I need a person who will be patient with me and give me as much time as I need to acclimate to a new environment. Sometimes I prefer interacting with younger people instead of adults. I get along with all the cats I live with in a community room at the shelter.  I am available for immediate adoption.  My adoption fee is waived.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me please complete an adoption profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds or returns is available upon request. August 19, 2024, 9:35 am

Story
Hi, my name is Becca and I'm about 3 years old. I was rescued as a pregnant stray and brought to Bond County Humane Society so I could find a loving fur-ever home. After a few weeks my 6 kittens were born, and now we are all ready to be adopted. I am a pretty dilute calico. I am very laid back. I am rather shy and still getting used to being held and petted. I am considered Special Needs because when I was tested for FeLV/FIV, I tested negative for FeLV, but positive for FIV. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. The most important things for me are a low stress environment, good quality food and regular veterinarian care. It is extremely important for me to stay healthy.  There are other FIV positive cats in my room, and I get along well with them. I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $20 during the Cat Adoption Special.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.August 19, 2024, 9:35 am

Story
Hi, my name is Dumplin and I'm about 14 months old.  I was found with my mother and siblings as a stray when I was 5 days old, and taken into a Bond County Humane Society foster home for several weeks. My foster mom said I am shy and timid, so it takes me a while to get used to new people. I like to play with toys. The furry ones are fun to carry around!  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee has been sponsored by an individual.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request. Story
Hi, my name is Jossie and I'm 10 years old.  Me and my litter mates were surrendered to Bond County Humane Society for adoption because the people we lived with did not want us.  I am sociable and playful.  Before I came to live at BCHS I lived in a garage but I was well socialized with people and played with an 8 year old child.  I don't have any experience with dogs.  I like to play with toys, string, boxes or pretty much anything.  In 2017 I was diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease).  In my case it affects my stomach, not my intestines.  Because my stomach is involved it causes me to have chronic vomiting.  My care for this condition includes food and medication.  In my case the food I tolerate best has fish as the protein, not any meat.  The other part of my care is supplemental injections under the skin of  B-12.  This is needed because my body is unable to absorb this vitamin.   I have done well on the maintenance program described.  I have been able to maintain a healthy weight.

Story
Hi, my name is Munchkin and I'm about 2 years old. I was rescued from Bond County Animal Control by Bond County Humane Society along with my 3 sisters when we were about 12 days old. We were bottle-fed by our foster mom until we could eat on our own.  We were in the foster home until we were about 9 1/2 months old. We enjoyed playing with each other.  My foster mom says I loved playing with the broom.   I would carry my small toys around in my mouth.  I am slow to warm up to people.  I don't do well in strange places.  I was recently diagnosed with a condition called enteric coronavirus that affects the GI system.  There is no treatment for the condition, but it is possible that I will recover from the condition.  We just don't know how long it could take.  It can be passed on to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the house.  My litter mate, Rose, has also been diagnosed with the same condition. I also tend to form crystals in my urine, so I am on a special diet for urinary health. I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is waived.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request. Story
Oogie is a very shy and skiddish girl and afraid of strangers, but once she gets to know you she is very cuddly with big and sometimes drooly purrs. She is the quintessential lap kitty and loves to make biscuits. LOTS and LOTS of biscuits' Quite chatty. She will take some time and patience to acclimate. Needs a quiet home with no small children. She is FELV positive, but has no current health issues. She will need to be an only cat due to her FELV status or with other FELV cats. FELV is a feline only disease so no other species or people can get it. So if you're looking for a sweet companion Oogie could be your girl.

Story
Skylar and Munch entered foster separately but became fast friends and are rarely seen without each other. If they get separated in the house, you will hear a tiny little mew from Munch, and Skylar will come running to find her friend. While these ladies are shy warming up to human and other animal friends, with lots of patience and treats they eventually like head scratches and will take a nap next to you on the couch. They are the cutest bffs and just need a quiet house where they can live their best snuggly and playful lives. Likes 1. Each other - playing, snuggling, grooming 2. Snacks! 3. Window watching 4. Head scratches on their terms 5. Catnip toys Dislikes 1. Lots of people 2. Loud noises 3. Forced affection Indifferent 1. Other animals - they are fine with them but prefer to keep to themselves. Can be jerks if cat or dog is persistently trying to befriend them.
