He was taken off the street before the cold weather hit - as of January 2025 he is now 16 weeks old, still a kitten. My name is Midnight. I am less than a year old and I am going to make you work for it just a little, because I am shy but loving, and I like to be pet but I'm not always sure if your hand will be kind. Our relationship is going to be so much stronger...I don't just spread my love around to anyone, I keep it just for you! I went to the ER vet and I had an emergency c-section and hysterectomy. I went into premature labor and was having trouble - they tried to save the kittens but they were too premature.    Now I am ready for my forever home. I love to get pets, knead dough, and hang around with my foster dad. I am a playful, affectionate gal. I do well with young kittens, but not a fan of older cats and please NO dogs. I am afraid of the loud noises the dogs make and don't really care for those guys. My foster parent named me after the tree spirits in Princess Mononoke because I have a permanent head tilt. I am a special needs kitty because I am both deaf and immunocompromised. I was found on a freezing autumn night outside a hotel, and the vet told us I had FIP. Although FIP is nearly always fatal, my foster parent and the rescue did not give up on me! They began the rigorous process of helping me heal, and after many treatments, I am happy to say I am doing amazing!! Despite my rough beginnings, I am a ball of energy! My foster parent thinks I have the energy of 3 kittens sometimes! The only kitty in the house who can roughly match my playfulness is Last Day Dog Rescue foster and my friend, Kabuki! Sometimes Erebus will play with me, too. Because I am deaf, I have trouble picking up on clues when I play too rough. Please be patient with me. If I get too riled up or accidentally bite, please distract me with a toy, and I will be happy to pounce on that! I require a home with no children as I am a master escape artist, barreling through doorways, jumping into danger (like an open oven!!), and generally testing the limits of my 9 lives. That said, my favorite thing to do besides play is cuddle! I will fall asleep on your lap while you play games and curl up in your arms while you sleep in bed. I love being carried around in a sling, too! Washing the dishes? I'll help! Folding the laundry? I'm in! I am enjoying the second life I was granted, and I would love to find a permanent home with one or more of my kitty friends. I just need to find the right family who are comfortable with my medical past and willing to put in the effort to care for an immunocompromised baby with a penchant for getting in some trouble! She moves through the house with stealth and caution but she’s improving every day. The dogs used to scare her but she’ll just walk right past them these days. She gets her zooms normally in the evening time where she will run around with her toys, chase her tail or play with anything else that moves, in typical cat behavior. She is such a lover and will be so happy if you let her nap on your lap and sleep with you at night. I was very scared and shy when I was rescued and was planned to be a TNR but my foster mom worked with me and got me to warm up and I am not so scared anymore and up for adoption! I will be shy when I meet you but it won’t take me long to warm up to a loving family. I love head scratches, belly rubs, being brushed and I love all my toys! Especially my wand toy. While she isn’t a fan of being held, she will go right up to anyone, even a stranger, and headbutt them to ask for pets. She is quiet and will purr often but rarely meow. Instead, she makes what her foster mom calls “R2D2 noises,” which are when she opens her mouth wide but only a small noise comes out that sounds kind of like R2D2. She loves to sit in the cat tree and stare out the window, chirping at the birds. She is very patient with her younger foster brother, even when he tries to steal her food, and easily gets along with her older foster brother, too. She is generally an extremely mellow and easy cat who is eager to please.
