Story
This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!   Available now!   Date of Birth: 2/18/21   Princeton was adopted out as a kitten and through no fault of his own, was returned to us. Princeton is a VERY big boy that loves being petted and giving head-butts, and also loves to play! But when he's mad, he can be quite rough, so he is NOT recommended for young kids. He needs pet parents that will be loving but firm with him, similar to a dog. Princeton takes a couple weeks to warm up to new people and pets, but once he loves you, he is your absolute best friend and will want to be a part of everything you do.   Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines, FeLV/FIV test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.   We believe that kitties need a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. If you adopt more than one kitty, you will receive a discount of $25 per kitty. Previous adopters will receive a $25 discount on their new kitty.   If this will be your first kitty, we suggest that you check out this site for a lot of important information: Cat Adoption Checklist. People think cats are easy pets, but they are very unique and there is a lot to learn. There is a lot of information online, and you are always welcome to ask us our advice.   You'll want to make sure you have all the basic supplies before you bring a baby home: nutrious food, bowls (not plastic), litter, litter pan, litter scoop, toys, scratchers & cat trees, nail clippers and a cat carrier. ##1220049##

Story
This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!   Available now!   Rusty was born in 2018.   He is a sweet orange boy looking for a forever family who will love him. He has gorgeous eyes and he loves to talk to hoomans. Rusty has been with us for quite some time, due to a skin issue. He is allergic to something (still not sure what) but after several steroid shots, he is now doing great! He is very sweet and meows for pets. He loves other cats but is not crazy about dogs. He has gained some weight and needs to be put on a diet. He would do well as an indoor/outdoor cat, but only in a safe environment.   Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines (at least 2), FeLV/FIV test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.   We believe that kitties should have a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. If you adopt more than one kitty, you will receive a discount of $25 per kitty. Story
This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!   Available: Now!   Date of birth is estimated at 5/1/22   Tabitha is a sweet & spicy lady. She loves to play and loves attention, but when she's mad, she'll let you know! Tabitha will tolerate submissive cats, but will not get along with dominate ones. She love-bites when seeking attention, is overstimulated or is upset, so her adopter will need to be patient and work with her on this. She would do well as a barn kitty, working to keep the farm free of rodents.   Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines, FeLV/FIV combo test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.   We believe that kitties need a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. Available now!   Fanta is a handsome boy with gorgeous markings who is full of love and energy. When he's not playing, he's curled up on his favorite human's lap for snuggles and affection. When overstimulated, he sometimes bites, so we don't recommend him for younger children. Story
Dudette came to us when a good Samaritan found her living in a storm drain; she was rescued and placed in foster care here in Statesville. She had either been dumped at the storm drain or just wandered around and found herself living there with no mother cat, siblings, food, water or shelter at a very young age. It was a terrible beginning of life for a very scared kitten. Dudette is now about 8 months old and is ready for a loving home of her own. She tested negative for FIV/Leuk.,was given her kitten shots, flea meds and wormed. Dudette is so unusually marked, as you can see. She has quite a mixture of black and white with a pretty black mark on her nose and a white mark on her black hip! This older kitten is a lot of fun and enjoys playing and jumping up on the cat tree to look out the window. If you are interested in Dudette, please respond and we will be happy to send an application or make arrangements for meeting her. Thank you for your interest in a truly rescued pet!!

Story
Itsy Bitsy was found a few weeks after the recent, terrible storm hit western NC -- Hurricane Helene. She had been left behind in an abandoned, almost completely demolished trailer in Linville, NC. Efforts have been made to reunite her with her original owners but to no avail. In fact, we do not know if her owners survived. When she was found, Itsy was walking through the shattered glass remnants of the trailer which had been hit by a falling tree. She was so happy to be saved from starvation, sure death and rescued in the nick of time -- we hope to find her a new loving home where she can begin to feel safe and find happiness once again! Itsy Bitsy is a beautiful combination of white and black and has the most gorgeous light green eyes! She was recently spayed and has had all her shots. If you are interested in adopting this sweet kitten or have any questions about Itsy Bitsy, please do not hesitate to contact: citizens4animals@yahoo.com

Story
I would love a home where I can be an indoor and outdoor cat. I’m a little shy at first but my foster has been so kind to me that I actually look forward to being around her. I may feel the same about you if given time to adjust. I get overlooked a lot because I'm no longer a tiny kitten but I still think I'm pretty amazing. I wouldn't mind staying in a barn, shop or somewhere you think I might be useful to keep critters away just as long as you provide clean water, food and a warm place when the weather gets cold. ##1804754##

Story
Angela is a little angel and she has wings to prove it.  When you look at her from the top of her back, two Angel white wings stand out on her black fur! Gorgeous and very unique, She will be a heavenly new family member. Quick on her feet, Angela bolted out of our Director's cat space and ran down the hall. For a change in scenery, she was placed in our a bedroom for an overnight and her true personality came out!!  Gently affectionate, with a couple reminders not to use her mouth to play, Angela cuddles, purrs and then does zoomies with a roommate. Ony to return to the side of a human for belly rubs on her long white tummy, purring songs!   ##1807962##

Story
Mittens is a special boy!  At first glance, you see a Black and white hunk with a Hitler mustache. But soo distinctive, even cute! He was given up by a woman who is receiving chemo and cannot take a chance she could get scratched or bit.  He is a young adult with 10/23 DOB   Mittens first owner bottle fed him and adored him but due to her health reasons, could not keep a cat that tends to be over reactive with stimulation, like being picked up suddenly, petted too long etc. He eargerly seeks human interacton. He is not a bully and is scared of bullies!. Mittens gently approaches you, stands on his hind legs with his front paws gently on your jeans and gives you the signal he wants some loving petting! But you need to know when he has had enough and withdraw your hands. No Children under 12.   ##2064462##

Story
If you are looking for a cat that you never see, Vanessa is not for you.  Vanessa likes to be with you - on the couch, in the kitchen, on the throne, in the bedroom.  She is a calm, sweet cat who enjoys belly rubs from her people.  She gets along with other cats, but prefers to be close and cuddly with her people.  She is looking for a home where she can have some time and attention and share her love. ##1808177##
