Story
Meet Mercy, the youngest senior tuxie in the Northeast! She's playful, curious, and quite energetic for an 11-year-old cat. She likes to chase spring toys, foil balls, and toy mice, but nothing gets her running faster than her favorite crunchy treat tossed across the room. She also enjoys "killing" a good feather toy. She has a great appetite, eats wet food and kibble, and looks forward to her three meals a day. Mercy requires an understanding adopter with a strong knowledge of and respect for cat behavior and their unique body language. Because she was declawed and mishandled when she was young, she can get overstimulated more quickly than most cats. She needs someone who wants her despite being declawed, not because she's declawed. Her ideal home is a calm, quiet environment without children, where she is the only pet in the household for the rest of her life. Building a meaningful relationship with Mercy will take some time and understanding, but the reward is highly gratifying. Her foster mom has a great relationship with her because she listens to Mercy and lets her decide when she wants to be touched and when she needs to be left alone. She thrives on a consistent routine and uses the litter box perfectly. She will go to her forever home with all her things- litter box, carrier, cat bed, and her most prized possession- her brush. Her sweet side is heartwarming- she enjoys daily snuggle sessions with her foster mom. She is a great work companion and will sit beside you quietly, enjoying your company. She is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and current on vaccines. If you want to give Mercy the loving home she deserves, please fill out an application at queencitycatsvt.org/adopt.

Story
Maverick is a good boy! He was once owned but had survived on the streets for many months before he was rescued, neutered, and vaccinated. Unfortunately, he tested positive for FIV. But he can still have a very long, normal life as long as he is kept indoors only. Mav was cautious of his foster humans at first but he has settled in quite nicely. He uses the litter box like a champ, destroys catnip toys and likes to be brushed. He has a sweet personality that still seems to be emerging as time goes on and trust continues to build. He is a bit frightened of the gentle dog in his foster home so he will appreciate a dog-free household. He has not encountered other cats in his foster home, but he might do well with a cat-friendly cat with a slow and thoughtful introduction. If you want to meet this gorgeous boy, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

Story
Cassie Fuzzypants is a little, 5-year-old goofball. She loves to be close, and when you’re sitting quietly she’ll jump up to snuggle and make biscuits. Then she’ll purr away, like a quiet motorboat. She loves scritches and is very affectionate. A cuddle bug, she loves to rest and sleep in your lap or spoon with you in bed. She likes to look out the bay window and watch the birds eat from the bird feeder. She also likes the feather wand toy and LOVES stalking mice. Cassie will sit quietly in the presence of the Golden Retriever in her foster home. They’re still getting to know each other, so no spooning yet. She would most likely get along with other cats if they’re not too bossy. Like many cats she doesn’t like being picked up, but she does like to curl up in a box. Story
Thomas O'Malley has cheeks for days! (And he'll even let you give them a gentle squeeze.) This irresistible guy was found as a stray and, lucky for him, some good people got him to QCC for help. He was pretty beat up at the time, but his wounds are healed and those rough days are over. He loves hanging out with his human friends, he looks forward to mealtime and tackling food puzzles and he enjoys rolling around in a pile of catnip. He asks that his new family is patient with him while he fully adjusts to indoor life. You see, sweet Thomas is FIV+. But that's okay- with enough enrichment, a nutritious diet and a happy home, this boy will live a long, fulfilled life. If you're interested in meeting Thomas O'Malley, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

Story
Meet Melissa, a gentle and petite 6-year-old girl with a heart of gold. This quiet and polite kitty has faced significant challenges in her life. She lost her elderly owner and then had to endure her home being turned into a scary place by bad people. Now, slowly but surely, she is learning to trust again and is ready to find her forever family. Melissa enjoys the serene environment of being an office cat, where she can quietly observe her surroundings and receive gentle pets from kind-hearted humans. She appreciates passive companionship and is gradually warming up to new people. With time and patience, she may become more outgoing as she lets her guard down completely. In her downtime, Melissa loves watching "cat TV," indulging in a bit of catnip, and savoring Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers. She dreams of a calm and stable home where she can feel safe and loved, surrounded by caring individuals who understand her quiet nature. If you're looking for a companion who will appreciate your gentle touch and provide quiet companionship in return, Melissa could be the perfect match for you. Open your heart and home to this sweet soul, and watch as she blossoms into the loving companion she was always meant to be. Story
Dearest Gentle Reader, Allow me to introduce you to the matriarch of the Bridgerton litter, the distinguished Rose—a feline of grace and fortitude, adorned in a coat of resplendent gray and endowed with the charming quirk of extra toes. Rose's presence exudes a maternal warmth, a testament to her nurturing spirit and the love she has bestowed upon her beloved litter. Rose delights in the gentle touch of chin pets, a gesture that elicits contented purrs and affectionate nuzzles. Her preference for a tranquil environment is well-known, and while she may occasionally express her surprise with a hiss or growl, rest assured, dear readers, that this is more a display of caution than of true malice. It is with a heavy heart that I must disclose that Rose cannot share her home with dogs. She is a creature who thrives in solitude, embracing moments of quiet reflection and the companionship of those who understand and respect her gentle nature. Will this season see Rose finding a haven where chin pets abound and the tranquility she seeks reigns supreme? This author fervently hopes so. For those captivated by Rose, I implore you to consider welcoming her into your home. Visit queencitycatsvt.org and complete an adoption application for Rose, ensuring her twilight years are filled with the love and serenity she deserves. Yours in devoted gossip, Lady Whiskerdown **If you're interested in meeting Rose, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.**
