Story
Chicken is a 1-year-old, 55-pound Dutch Shepherd with a heart as big as his name is quirky! This handsome boy had a rough start in life, but he’s now thriving in a loving foster home alongside multiple canine companions. His foster family says he’s a real sweetheart and a true people-pleaser who would do best in a forever home with one other dog to share his adventures with.Chicken is incredibly smart and highly food-motivated, making him eager and open to training. He’s already mastered potty training and even rings a bell to let you know when it’s time to head outside! Talk about impressive! An energetic and adventurous spirit, Chicken loves the great outdoors and would make the perfect hiking buddy. Whether it’s exploring trails or playing fetch in the yard, this guy is always up for some fun. While Chicken has so many wonderful qualities, he does have a fear of being closed in a crate. He’ll need a patient adopter who’s willing to work with him on this and help him feel secure. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and active companion who’s ready to fill your life with love and laughter, Chicken might just be your perfect match! 🐕💖To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application. Story
I got Chicken as a temporary foster. He's had a rough life, but managed to stay one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met and he is ready for a family to give all his love. I have three dogs at home and he's played well with all of them. One of my dogs is reactive and they haven't quite gotten along, but I've been able to separate and reintroduce them later with no problems. He would do great with one other dog in the house; he loves to play with other dogs and his people. Not sure how he is with cats or small animals. He is an absolute baby for anybody that gives him pets or belly rubs. Full of energy, he's a perfect best friend for walks, hikes, or any other activity. He's looking for a stable home where he can feel consistently loved and be given firm direction and command. He picks up on things very quickly, and is always eager to please. I've been taking him out regularly and he never goes potty in the house; he even uses my dogs' bells to signal to go out. Ask about his training.

Story
She’s a very loving, protective dog. She likes cuddling on the couch or bed, eating table scraps and playing fetch. She needs to be in a one dog household, likes cats but will try and chase to play with them. She would benefit from either older kids or none at all. Originally from Alaska, she’s not too tolerant of the heat and needs to be kept indoors especially during summer. She’s about 5-6 years old, but we’ve had her for 4 years. Still active to run and play but likes to lounge around the house in warmer weather. Needs a somewhat active owner. Kennel trained, she has mild separation anxiety. Dog reactive, excitable around people (likes to jump on people). Big bark but no violent behaviors. Doesn’t dig in yard or try to run away from home.
