Story
Ronnie is a loving, loyal and obedient 2 year old dutch shephard who is being raised with my 3 children ranging in age from 4 - 14. She was found on our doorstep when she was ~5 weeks old and we've been raising her ever since with our lab / ridgeback mix who is 3 years old. She generally plays well with our other dog but does display dominance over her and can be rough with her.

Story
Kinzie is the spunkiest, smartest, most energetic girl! She spent most of her life in the shelter but thanks to CBR saving her you wouldn’t even know it. She’s so intelligent, even just one training session with her she picks up so much! Her leash skills are great, she loves her crate, and is fully potty trained! Kinzie loves being outside, and would do great in an active home wanting to walk, run, or hike daily. She can be a little shy at first with new people, but feed her a treat and she warms up quickly. She’s fiercely loyal to her people and loves to please them. She loves affection and will do anything to earn your touch! She’s working on her jumping, so would probably be best in a home with adults only or older children. Kinzie is the sweetest girl and would love to be a part of your home!

Story
Bentley is a 1.5-year old male Dutch Shepherd mix youngster (most likely Belgian Malinois) who was picked up as a stray by Stanislaus Animal Services. This poor puppy was so traumatized at the time of intake, but is now safe with rescue in a wonderful foster home, where he can decompress and begin to feel safe and loved.  Bentley is a sweet little boy, and didn’t hesitate to come to our volunteer upon first greeting.  He is now fully crate trained, and does well with other dogs. Initially, he was very shy when meeting other dogs, but has become a pretty confident pup, and loves to run and play.  His first night in his foster home, he slept in his crate all night with no issues. He loves his people and at times wants to be right next to you, waiting for pets and lovin. Bentley will require a committed and loving human who will make him a part of the family, providing the care and attention that every young pup needs. Only older dog-savvy children 8 and above in an adoptive home will be considered. It will be necessary for an adopter to have recent successful experience in raising a GSD, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, or other large breed working puppy. An adopter who will begin and continue his obedience training based upon positive reinforcement is recommended, including positive steps to discourage unwanted behavior, to ensure he remains on the path of a well-behaved canine companion. We are currently screening applications for the best possible fit. ##1805152##

Story
HI -I'M NOMI! I'm a 5-year-old lovely Dutch Shepherd-Pit mix in need of a foster or forever home. My name means "beautiful" and "delightful" and it is so fitting, because I have a gorgeous brindle coat and a sweet face. I was rescued from a California shelter, and now have been waiting patiently for someone to notice me! I am gentle with people, and am friendly with most dogs, though I can get jealous at times. I would probably thrive as an only dog where I could get all of the attention, or hang out with a submissive male. I weigh 68 pounds. I would love a new home this year! Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

These pups are in Burlingame, California too!

Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Bebe and I'm a 4 year old, spayed, smooth German Shepherd/Pitbull mix that currently weighs about 54 lbs. I'm an affectionate girl that starts off on the timid side. Once I'm comfortable, I enjoy belly rubs and daily walks! I'm hoping for a quiet home that understands that I am a wonderful, but sensitive lady who will need time to adjust into a new setting. Once I'm settled, I'm the epitome of good etiquette. I am calm and demure, most of the time. I've been known to be a fence climber when I want to be with my people. I love the game of chase! Especially with small critters like birds and squirrels so I prefer to be the only pet in the household. My foster family says I'm crate trained (I sleep there at night) and I've had minimal accidents in the house. I'm also a pro at sitting for treats! For more information, just ask Customer Service about Bebe! ID# A946402   Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by following these instructions: Please submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile. When you email your adoption profile, please include a few sentences about why you're interested in adopting me specifically and why you think I'd be a good fit for your family! Please also tell us a little bit about your dog experience, if any. We look forward to hearing from you!  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Story
Well, hello! My name is Hershey and I'm a spayed, 9-month-old, German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix who currently weighs around 55 lbs. but will most likely be around 74 to 80lbs. as an adult. I'm an energetic and effervescent girl that LOVES to play in the water! I would be the perfect companion to beach goers, river rafters or sprinkler hoppers! I can be a little uncertain on how to make doggy friends so I'm hoping to continue working on my social skills and impulse control with an active, loving family. I can't wait to meet everyone in the household including any resident dogs before I head home. Just ask Customer Service about Hershey! ID# A955664 I recently spent time with a volunteer! Here's how I did: I took Hershey out for the first time today. She was really eager to get out. Luckily the yard was available because this girl LOVES to fetch and LOVES the water! She ran happily in the yard chasing balls and splashing around. She knows drop so it’s easy to trade balls and keep her running. I also took her for a walk. She needs some work on leash manners but did not pull really hard - probably due to running zoomies before! She is affectionate.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hi there! My name is Luna and I'm a spayed, 1-year-old, German Shepherd mix that currently weighs about 45lbs. My friends here at PHS say I'm a ball of energy (I jump for joy when I'm excited!) but sometimes I'm unsure about trying new things. I'm hoping for a new family that has experience helping playful girls like me broaden their horizons. Since I'm still working on my manners and impulse control, I'd like to meet any resident dogs before I officially join the family to make sure we'll be a good match. I hope to be the classiest lady so training is a must! I promise to be the sweetest girl you will ever meet!
