Story
Shadow is a striking Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart of gold and a loving soul. This handsome boy is a true companion at heart and is looking for a forever home where he can be the center of attention. Shadow absolutely adores people and is incredibly affectionate. He loves nothing more than cuddling up with his favorite humans and showering them with love and affection. While Shadow is a people-lover, he's not as fond of other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home and would thrive in a setting where he can be the sole recipient of your love and attention. Shadow's ideal home would be a quiet and loving environment where he can feel safe and secure. Shadow is not just a cuddlebug; he's also a playful and energetic pup. He loves to play fetch, go for walks, and explore the great outdoors. Shadow is housetrained and has no medical issues, making him a low-maintenance and easygoing companion. One of Shadow's unique qualities is his love for cats. He gets along famously with feline friends and would do well in a home with a cat companion. Shadow's affectionate nature and playful spirit make him a wonderful addition to any loving family. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will brighten your days with his affectionate nature and playful antics, Shadow is the perfect match for you. Come meet this wonderful boy and see if you're a match made in heaven. Adopt Shadow today and start making unforgettable memories with your new best friend!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Winnie, and I'm a beautiful three year old female Dutch Shepherd who was recently returned to FRGSR after I was left unsupervised for long periods of time, and I managed to get into mischief with the neighbors' dogs and chickens. Since returning to my former foster home, I've fallen back into my old routine of playing with the resident male Malinois, going for long walks and cuddling with my humans. While on walks, my foster mom and dad have not observed me to be inappropriate around other dogs or people. My breed is a working breed, and I need a strong leader who will provide me with clear boundaries and both daily mental and physical stimulation. I need to know what my job is and I would prefer to have an adopter who isn't gone all day. I'm crate trained and I walk beautifully on leash, but I also wouldn't mind being someone's running partner. In my foster home, I'm relaxed and friendly because I know they are my leaders and I focus on being a dog. I love to play in the snow with my foster brother! I can get a little possessive of my toys and my foster parents are working on this. If you feel you can meet my needs, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   August 19, 2024, 8:52 am

Story
I am a BIG, playful, goof of a dog! I currently weigh in at around 73lbs!  I want nothing more than to play and then rest and maybe play a little more and then rest!  I am great with other dogs who want to play and the ones who don't I respect their boundaries. I would love a forever home with another dog to play with, and I promise we will wear each other out!  I came into my foster home with 5 other dogs ranging in size and age with ZERO problems.  I have met a kitty before and didn't show that I was overly interested.  I am potty trained and take myself out the dog door.  I am kennel trained and will happily go in there to eat my meals and for bedtime.  I love all toys, balls, soft ones, hard ones...really I just love anything fun!  I stick to what's mine and leave my fosters shoes and other items alone.  I am looking for a relatively active home where I can have my mental and physical needs met.  I'm not a couch potato but I'm not a highly active pup, I'm in the middle.  I would make a great walking and hiking partner. I am very food motivated. I would love a forever home that wants to do training! I want to please and will be very easily trained, I already know my sit and lay down and it seems I know stay, drop it, and leave it!  I would do best in a house with a yard.  I am such a lovely gentle giant and I cannot wait to meet my forever family.   ##1884672##

Story
Hi there! My name is River, I’m the sweetest sugar plum you’ll ever meet, and I’m ready to find my forever home! The #1 thing you should know about me is that I’m a major cuddle bug. If you’re down, I’d be happy to permanently take up residence in your lap. If you need to stand up, that’s fine (I guess), but you can expect to find me tagging along on your heel as you go from room to room. I’m super sweet and incredibly loyal to my people. Some of my talents include: being really pretty, doing ear acrobatics when you talk to me, being an amateur food critic (yes, I can tell if you’re trying to serve me plain kibble without any special toppings, and no, you won’t get away with it), and jumping to Olympic heights when I’m excited. I’m potty trained, so my foster family hasn’t had to worry about any accidents in the house, and although I’m still working on the finer points of leash manners, I love walks, so I’m doing my best to get really good at them so we can go more often. I’m super smart and quickly picking up my basic commands. I’m also great at chilling out when we’re done with playtime. I’m a sucker for a cozy bed (or a tile floor, if it’s hot), I don’t complain when my foster mom wants to sleep in a bit, and I’m happy to settle down next to you while you get some work done. I’m getting pretty good at my crate training, too. I’m a big people-dog, and I would love to be your one and only. Who needs other dogs when you’ve got one with a personality as big as mine? I’ve been learning to like my foster brother, but I’m still most comfortable when he’s on the other side of a baby gate, so while I think I could make friends with canine siblings, it would require some time and patience from all of us. I a still adapting to life out of the shelter and will need a patient owner that can show me meeting dog friends is so scary. So, if you're seeking a smart, affectionate companion who's already got some of the basics down and is ready to learn more, look no further! I can't wait to meet my forever family and share all the love and joy I have to offer. ##2123185##

Story
Cashew is a sweet dog that loves to play and go on long walks, but also likes to just chill and cuddle on the couch. She's great on walks and never pulls. Shes comfortable in her crate or sleeping in a dog bed. She is friendly with other animals but sometimes she's too excited and gets overbearing, so she could use some training in that area. She is potty trained pretty well but naturally still has accidents sometimes. ##2123239##
