Story
MAX would make the most amazing ESA for a children's hospital or a senior living home! MEET MAX THE PERFECT ONE! He is a 6-year-old Dutch Shepard mix with beautiful bright dreamy eyes who thinks he’s human and loves everyone that he meets. His sister and her puppies were pulled from the shelter, and he was left behind for two years and became the house pet of the shelter, and everyone adored him, but it is time for him to find a new home. He has a gentle and kind soul. Spent time with a 87 year old mother and was very calm and respectful. He doesn’t need another doggy to be happy but acclimates if there was another doggy. He doesn’t need an active family just a family that wants a doggy to love. He thinks he’s 10 lbs. but weighs 60 lbs. He extremely friendly to other dogs and loves children. He walks perfect on a leash and loves to talk long walks and does not pull responds well to directions. His foster family loves him dearly and would love the opportunity to share more stories about MAX! Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $185.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make this wonderful girl part of your family, please follow the link below to our application. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCAR/Dog

Story
Jack is a loving and smart boy! He survived being hit by a car, suffering two broken legs, but is the fastest little man you know. He enjoys life to the fullest playing and running in the yard with his foster family including their 3 dogs & 2 kids. He is receiving physical therapy as well as adequan therapy, and both his legs are gaining mobility, he may never have full use of his back legs, but he gets around so well already and still has therapy to undergo! He is a dog that will need some special care for a bit, but he will repay with loving kisses and cuddles. He is very smart and easy to manage. We would love for someone to foster to adopt him, so they can fall in love, or an adoption if you're sure he's a fit! Jack is house trained, has a microchip already, is fixed, fully vaccinated and has his adequan and physical therapy covered through yoga animals rescue foundation! If you're looking for a special life guy to brighten up your day Jack is your boy!October 10, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Essie is an incredible dog who deserves a home that can meet her energy and attention needs. She is a Fawn Dutch Shepherd, a little older than 1, and full of love, loyalty, and enthusiasm. We welcomed Essie into our lives before we knew we were expecting, and while we had hoped to make it work, we’ve realized that with two little ones, we just don’t have the time and attention she truly deserves. She thrives in an active environment and needs a family or individual who can keep up with her high drive and give her the structure, stimulation, and engagement she craves. Would do best in a home with experience handling high-drive dogs – She needs structure, consistency, and plenty of outlets for her energy. She was attacked as a puppy so she is a bit reactive at first when she meets dogs but can warm up.We want to ensure she goes to the right fit, so we will be very selective

Story
Happy is one of those types of dogs that continues to view life as the glass half full. This pup joined MHCR a couple months ago at around 6-7 months of age. She found herself on death row in Texas at a high intake/high kill shelter. Once Happy got settled into foster care, it became very apparent she had sustained quite a bit of trauma in her life prior to rescue. Happy sustained a traumatic injury to her back leg as a young pup that had fully healed before she got to us. This injury possibly involved the growth plate, which has resulted in the leg being a little bit shorter than her other leg. Luckily, the orthopedic surgeons she has seen feel she is just about fully grown so this leg shouldn’t pose too large of a problem. After she had settled in for a couple of weeks, we noticed she was painful and limping on her front legs. More work up revealed she had a fractured coronoid process. What the heck is that? It’s a tiny little piece of the elbow. Happy had surgery for this and she’s recovering beautifully! Happy has many shepherd-like characteristics and the brindle in her coat lead us to believe she is a Dutch Shepherd mix. She’s very smart, eager to please, affectionate, and loyal. Happy is petite at 42 lbs! She rides beautifully in the car, eats her meals in her crate, is house trained and enjoys days at the office with her foster mom. Happy is dog friendly after a proper intro. She particularly likes the Belgian Malinois she’s in foster with. She’s best suited with a derpy, playful, confident personality type canine companion. However, she’d be perfectly content as an only dog, as well. Happy LOVES stuffie toys and will blissfully surround herself with her favorites and quietly entertain herself. Due to her orthopedic issues since joining our care, Happy hasn’t spent much time mastering her leash skills. Happy is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/happy You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post.   Oaky is a 8 year old neutered GSD. He’s a very obedient, friendly, and energetic dog who unfortunately needs to be an only dog as he does not get along well with canine roommates. He’s good with cats and people and would do great as an only dog with active parents!    For more information, contact 978-319-3244 or ryan.d.jallad@gmail.com.December 22, 2024, 11:15 am

Story
Cyrus is a big, sweet boy. He craves attention and thinks he is still small enough to be a lap dog He is crate trained, so he sleeps in his crate. He has had extensive training through the state of CO dog training program, but requires an experienced owner who will be consistent. He is extremely loyal and will not leave your side when you are home throughout the day. He loves, and needs, daily walks and/or fenced yard for exercise. He loves car rides and gets excited for occasional doggy day care play dates. He does well around children of all ages.

Profile Name: Andres #2 | Pro Snuggler | Belly Rub Enthusiast | 2 Years Old About Me: Swipe right if you’re into long walks, playful vibes, and a dog who knows exactly what he wants — belly rubs. I’m Andres, a 55-pound lovebug wrapped in a snowy white coat, and I wear my heart on my paw. Literally. I’ll gently place your hand where I want those belly rubs, and in return, you’ll get my unwavering devotion (and maybe a few slobbery kisses). My Love Language: Snuggles on the couch Head rests on your lap (with adoring gazes included) Full-body wiggles when you grab the leash for a walk Playtime with all the toys — plush, chew, or bone, I’m not picky The Basics: I’m a quick learner and already know “come,” “sit,” “down,” and “leave it” (especially if snacks are involved). I get along great with friendly dogs but prefer a cat-free zone. I’m almost fully house-trained, love the security of a sturdy crate, and dream of a home with a fenced yard where I can show off my zoomies. Looking For: An active, affectionate partner who appreciates goofy antics and endless cuddles. Someone ready to keep building my confidence, continue my training, and, most importantly, fulfill my daily belly rub needs. Let’s Make It Happen: If you’re searching for a loyal best friend with a heart of gold and a playful spirit, I’m your guy. Hit me up — let’s start our love story!
