Story
Meet Adira, or "Addie" as her foster family lovingly calls her! 🐾 This sweet girl was found in rough shape, running scared in Memphis, but thanks to a kind MPD officer, she was brought to safety. Initially emaciated and frightened, Addie has blossomed in her foster home, gaining weight and confidence. Now, at 65 pounds and around 2-3 years old, she’s ready for her forever family. Addie is a playful spirit who loves chasing balls, hiking through the woods, car rides, and, most importantly, being close to her humans. While she’s high-energy, she’s also the perfect work-from-home companion, content to curl up beside you during the day. 🛋️ Addie is kennel trained, but she prefers having room to roam and a lot of love to give—she’s a true one-human dog, and would thrive as the only pet in a home with an active lifestyle. Her loyalty is unmatched, and she’ll quickly become your protector and best friend. 💕 Is Addie the loyal companion you’ve been looking for? 🌟 *** We have a transport flight to Denver on February 7th, and it will be bringing our newly adopted pups to their forever homes!*** Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make this wonderful girl part of your family please get your application in asap!!!

Story
Meet DIXIE! 🐾 This adorable girl is just the perfect package!! Dixie found herself, through no fault of her own, in a rural shelter that keep most of their pups outside under tarps and with hay in the winter. One look at that face and we scooped her right up. We were shocked to find out how sweet, loving and gentle this adorable doll was. This amazing girl just loves life and hanging out with her people and dog buddies. She is the first to welcome you home and last to leave your side. She has the perfect energy one is looking for in a dog. Dixie is approximately 5 months and practically out of all those time consuming puppy stages. 💖 Personality: Goofy, playful and energetic. Dixie has a wonderful temperament and gets along great with her foster mates. She is super smart and a fast learner. She will be up for learning any new tricks you might want to throw her way. She is fostering in a home in Memphis, TN and her foster mom would love to tell you all about her. Dixie is going to be great family companion and she is ready to be your new best friend! If you’re ready to give DIXIE a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Let’s find this sweet pup the forever home she soooo deserves. 🐶💕 *** We have a transport flight to Denver on February 7th, and it will be bringing our newly adopted pups to their forever homes! *** Once adopted she will travel via the Rescue Transport to her new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post.   Oaky is a 8 year old neutered GSD. He’s a very obedient, friendly, and energetic dog who unfortunately needs to be an only dog as he does not get along well with canine roommates. He’s good with cats and people and would do great as an only dog with active parents!    For more information, contact 978-319-3244 or ryan.d.jallad@gmail.com.December 22, 2024, 11:15 am

Cyrus is a big, sweet boy. He craves attention and thinks he is still small enough to be a lap dog He is crate trained, so he sleeps in his crate. He has had extensive training through the state of CO dog training program, but requires an experienced owner who will be consistent. He is extremely loyal and will not leave your side when you are home throughout the day. He loves, and needs, daily walks and/or fenced yard for exercise. He loves car rides and gets excited for occasional doggy day care play dates. He does well around children of all ages.

Story
Andres, a 2 y.o. 55-pound wintry white beauty brightens his foster home with his loving personality and grateful appreciation of the attention he receives in return. Sweet and oh-so-friendly, he LOVES snuggling and cuddling with his fosters, resting his head on them and rolling over for belly rubs. An endearing combination of easygoing and energetic, Andres is just as content to lounge around the house as he is to play with his toys (he adores all of his toys, including plush and chewer toys), chew on bones, and go for walks, honing his leash skills along the way. Wonderfully well mannered, he engages just as wonderfully with other friendly dogs of various sizes and ages, while his natural and innocent interest in the resident cat is easily redirected. Motivated by food, toys, and love, Andres currently knows “come,” “sit,” “down,” and “leave it,” and because he’s eager to please and loves all treats, he should be ever so easy to teach. At work on his house training, Andres may have a fear of crates due to past trauma, so he’ll need a patient and compassionate adopter to help him build trust and confidence in this area if crating is part of the plan. As he also works on managing some separation anxiety, Andres will thrive with an adopter committed to supporting his ongoing progress and ensuring he feels secure in his new home. All affectionate Andres needs now is an equally affectionate adoptive home, perhaps with a securely fenced yard, to complete his training, build his confidence, and ensure that he’s cuddled and snuggled fur-ever. Check out additional photos and videos of Andres here!   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
I've been sponsored by the Petfinder Kia Grant to help reduce adoption fees. Thanks to the wonderful Petfinder Foundation my adoption fee is only $25.00! Hiya, I'm Finn! I am a 3 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix (best guess). I'm quite the chatterbox. I love to 'talk' to anyone who'll listen. It's my way of saying, 'Hey, let's be friends!' I've got enough energy to keep up with the most active of families, but I'm also a champion snuggler when it's time to wind down. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who loves playtime and cuddles as much as I do. If you need a brave, loyal, and hilarious sidekick, I'm your guy! I do good with other dogs as long as we are properly intoduced. However, I do need a home without cats as I like to chase them. I woul ddo best in a home iwth older children due to my active nature. Did I mention I'm working on training right now? Well I am and I can tell you that I am the best at 'sit' and 'down' that any dog could ever be! Adopt me and I promise you won't regret it. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##1783284##

Story
Name: Chief Cuddlebug, The Timid Treasure of Tender Moments Breed: German Shepherd Mix Sex: Neutered male Age: 9 Weight: 76 Needs Experienced Adopter Good with dogs? Yes, Chief is good with other gentle, friendly dogs who will be respectful of his boundaries. He may enjoy hanging out quietly at first, then take a nice walk with his new friend. Good with cats? No Good with kids? Yes, Chief could feel safe with calm, peaceful children 12+ who respect and understand his shy nature. Energy level: Low, Chief loves to relax outside, summer or winter! He will lie and soak up the sunshine in a sunny, private yard with a high fence. Medical/Behavioral needs: Chief is a big, fluffy, gloriously handsome boy, but on the inside he feels like a little dog who is timid and shy. He is afraid of most things that are loud, scary and new. He is slowly but steadily blossoming with loving foster care and gradual introductions to other safe animals. Rewards and treats help him open up to show his adorably silly side! He loves chicken and hot dogs and will eagerly push his head into a treat bag for more! Animal Characteristics: Chief is a sweet and sensitive soul looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, protected and loved for just who he is. This good boy needs a patient adopter who can relax alongside him and let him come out of his shell. Chief is immensely deserving of his very own “happily ever after” adoption story. Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Gustaf, and I'm a male GSD wjth an estimated DOB of 10/6/21 who was adopted out in 2022 when I was a cute puppy then returned because I was given too much freedom which led to problems. I ended up chasing bicycles and I grabbed the mailman's calf while delivering mail one day.  I'm guarded when I first meet new people, but I do warm up over time with slow introductions, and once you're in my inner circle, I'm very affectionate and loving. The rescue is hoping to find a home without young children as they can open doors accidentally. Update: For the last several months, I've been living with a foster who's also a dog trainer and I've made amazing progress!  I have done well around other dogs, both large and small, with proper introductions.  I LOVE to play fetch! I've also done well with the resident kitties. I've been non-reactive to people and other dogs while on walks. Nothing brings me more joy than pleasing my humans. My commands are spot-on, and I know sit/stay, down/stay, come, heel and place. I've had lots of fun accompanying my foster parents on hiking, camping and road trips. I'm a boy who thrives with structure, routine and proper exercise. I need a patient, GSD-experienced adopter. Is that you? If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Hi, my name is Texan Momma Tish, and I'm a beautiful GSD with an estimated DOB of 6/23/20 who was transferred, along with my puppies, from a shelter where we arrived as strays and nobody came to claim us. We were running out of time, but FRGSR saved us! I've been living in a foster home, and my foster mom says I'm house-trained and crate-trained. I'm a sweet and loving girl who's done great around both adults and kids. I will need continued work on my dog socialization skills, but I've made tremendous progress since I first arrived at FRGSR. I'm also a big cuddler, so if you're looking for a dog who will snuggle up next to you to watch a good movie, that's me! AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Alamo Momma Angie, and I'm a gorgeous GSD with an estimated DOB of 2/7/23 who was transferred, along with my eight puppies, from a shelter where we arrived after being found alone and hungry, and nobody came to claim us. I was underweight trying to scrounge for food so that I could nurse my puppies. The shelter clock was running out, but thankfully, FRGSR saved all of us! My puppies were old enough to be adopted out, and they've all found homes. The shelter discovered that I tested positive for heartworm, and I've completed my treatment in October. I'm a happy, playful and affectionate girl who loves to spend time with my parents who take me on daily walks, which I LOVE! I've been living in a foster home with other dogs, two large and one small, and I've learned how to play with them as long as they aren't too overbearing. I typically start a play session with a bow and when the other dog engages, I'll roll onto my back to go belly up! I'm house-trained and someone from my past taught me to sit and shake. I would love to find an adopter who isn't gone for long stretches of time and will take me on daily walks and hikes. I would LOVE to have a male canine companion to keep me company when my owner is not home. I'm a wonderful girl who's been waiting for my forever family to come along, and I hope that will happen soon! If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. If you are interested in the dog described below, please contact Paula at paula.gessert@yahoo.com Hi, my name is Referral Aiyanna, and I'm a beautiful female GSD mix with an estimated DOB of 5/6/2019. I arrived at my current residence where my former owner lived for a time with another couple. My owner moved on and I stayed with the couple who've taken excellent care of me. I'm up to date on my vaccines, I've been spayed and microchipped. Unfortunately, one of the resident dogs doesn't like me, so the couple has had to keep us separated. As a result, I've had to spend a good bit of time being crated and the couple would like to see if there's someone out there who could offer me a life of adventures and attention. I'm a cuddle bug and I love to be near my person. I do have Pannus, and I'll need eye drops daily. I'm a very playful girl who would love to have a male canine play buddy if possible, but if not, that's okay too. Story
MEET MAX THE PERFECT ONE! He is a 6-year-old Dutch Shepard mix with beautiful bright dreamy eyes who thinks he’s human and loves everyone that he meets. His sister and her puppies were pulled from the shelter, and he was left behind for two years and became the house pet of the shelter, and everyone adored him, but it is time for him to find a new home. He has a gentle and kind soul. Spent time with a 87 year old mother and was very calm and respectful. He doesn’t need another doggy to be happy but acclimates if there was another doggy. He doesn’t need an active family just a family that wants a doggy to love. He thinks he’s 10 lbs. but weighs 60 lbs. He extremely friendly to other dogs and loves children. He walks perfect on a leash and loves to talk long walks and does not pull responds well to directions. His foster family loves him dearly and would love the opportunity to share more stories about MAX! *** We have a transport flight to Denver on February 7th, and it will be bringing our newly adopted pups to their forever homes!*** Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you.
