Story
Meet Smores! This perfect pup has a heart as soft and sweet as her name. She can be a little unsure at first, but with a calm and patient home, she will be the perfect cuddle-loving companion. Due to her sensitive nature, at this time HSBV is recommending a home with no children or with older, gentle children.

Story
Sadly, we are needing to look for a forever home for our German Shepherd. When we got Ranger 1.5 years ago she was meant to be a working dog with my hu. But shortly after we got her, his job and mine changed entirely and it really affected our ability to meet her social needs. Without a job to do or person to be with most of the day, she gets too bored and needs more mental stimulation and a home where she is the only dog. Pros: Excellent pedigree. She comes from eastern Europe so she's smaller than American shepherds, currently weighs 50lb and is 4 years old. Very smart, knows many commands. Quick to please Great with kids! Very gentle and agile. Gives the sweetest not-sloppy kisses. Up-to date with shots & is spayed. Is kennel-trained. In fact she loves going to bed in her own space. Excellent to travel with. Cons: She is a counter-surfer, so you can't leave any food out. Chews paper products when left alone...? Still not sure why. Very vocal especially when she's bored.

Story
Meet Benji, a young, sweet soul with a playful spirit. Benji is still learning the ropes, so she prefers taking things slow, making her an ideal companion for those who enjoy a steady pace. Benji would excel with someone who will take the time to experience her playful & sweet side. She may need a little patience and understanding, but the reward is an unbreakable bond and a faithful friend. Her high energy makes her an excellent playmate for those who enjoy active lifestyles. She's looking for some play friends who can match her energy and help her come out of her shell. She is perfect for someone with a patient heart, ready to give Benji the loving home she deserves.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Mariah and I'm a beautiful GSD with an estimated DOB of 9/23/22 who was transferred to FRGSR after I'd been abandoned by my former owner. As a result, details regarding my past life are unknown. I'm living in a foster home with a dog trainer who's been working on my commands, obedience and house training. I've made great progress with my house-training and I've not had any accidents as long as I'm reasonably supervised. As a result, I may do best with an adopter who either works from home or who isn't gone for long periods of time. I'm learning to stay focused on my human during training sessions. My foster mom states that I've done well with all of her personal dogs, but I'm still learning how to read other dogs when they want to take a break. I'm working on my impulse control, but I'm making progress. I've learned the commands of "sit, down, come, place and heel" without distractions, and my mom is introducing distractions to help me to remain focused.  I'm now crate-trained and I can walk decently on leash. I adore people, but I sometimes get overly excited and try to jump on them. I will definitely need a home without cats! I'm a good girl who's looking for an adopter who will provide me with continued training, structure and exercise. If you are interested, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   March 5, 2025, 1:19 pm

Story
Meet Jupiter, a gorgeous German Shepherd who's been a bit nervous in the shelter environment. If he could talk, we'd be curious to hear about his life experiences before he arrived at Foothills as a stray. He's looking for a patient home where he can have the space and time to decompress and feel secure with a patient family. Once he's feeling comfortable, he'll be sure to enjoy lots of activity and play to tucker him out. Jupiter is recommended for a home without children or other dogs at this time. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 71.8 Age: 5yrs 1mths 0wks
