You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Paws, and I'm a beautiful six year old GSD who was surrendered to FRGSR by my former owner, along with my sister Alia, when our owner had to move to care for his elderly relatives and dogs weren't allowed. Until now, living with him has been all we've known. I/we have not been socialized with other people or dogs. Since arriving, my sister has found her forever home, but I'm still waiting for my person to come along. For several months, I've been living in a foster home with other dogs and I'm doing well with the male dogs. I've learned some obedience and I'm crate trained. I would love to find my forever person or family soon. If you are interested, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $350. Update: I am now living in a foster home where I'm the only pet and I'm having tons of fun being pampered by my foster mom. She says I'm young at heart and she takes me on daily nice, long walks because I have such great leash manners. She says I love to ride in the car with both back windows down so I can stick my head out to say hi to everyone! I also love to play with toys and my mom says I've not chewed any of them up! When it's time to relax, I love to begin by having my mom massage my head. I'll often lay my head in her lap to let her know it's time.  I'll then often take a nap on my back with both of my feet sticking straight up in the air! I'm protective and I alert my mom if someone comes to the door. I've waited for my forever person to come along for a really long time, and I'm hoping my special person is out there somewhere waiting to adopt me!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Emery, and I'm a happy 3 year old mix who was recently returned to FRGSR because I wouldn't leave the cats alone. Prior to my adoption, I did live in a foster home with cats and I did fine. My former owners also mentioned that I was misbehaving with their other dog, but in my last foster home, I did fine with the other dogs. I need an adopter who will set clear boundaries for me and praise me when I obey the rules and correct/redirect me when I venture off course. Why am I at a German Shepherd Rescue you ask? I was sent here as a puppy to get out of the way of Hurricane Ida a few years ago in Louisiana. I'm available for foster-to-adopt and my adoption fee is $200. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Sasha Jane, and I'm a beautiful three year old GSD who is in need of a new home. I was adopted out to a loving couple last December, and it turns out that I may need a confident male canine companion to help build my own confidence. My owners invested lots of time and resources into training, vet specialists, working with a behaviorist, and even trying acupuncture and herbal medicines, but I'm still struggling. I have a loving, sweet personality with my owners, but they are hoping a home can be found for me with another dog as I did better in my foster home with other dogs around. My owners feel that they cannot meet my needs and they are hoping the rescue can find a home for me with someone who can. I would love to find someone who will take me on lots of outdoor adventures, play fetch with me, and then I'll curl up next to them at the end of the day. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Gustaf, and I'm a two year old male GSD who was adopted out sixteen months ago when I was a cute puppy and recently returned because I was given too much freedom which led to problems. I ended up chasing bicycles and more recently, I grabbed the mailman's calf. I went from a home with my family to living in a boarding kennel because all foster slots are currently full, and this change has been hard on me. I'm guarded when I first meet new people, but I do warm up over time with slow introductions. The rescue is hoping to find a home without young children as they can open doors accidentally, which leads to problems because, like most GSDs, I like to protect my pack and turf. I'm a good boy who needs to understand boundaries. The rescue is now working with me on this. I'm an active boy who would love to find an adopter who will invest the time, resources, and energy into training abd properly socializing me so I can be an obedient dog. If you are interested, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $400.  Update: I've been living with a foster who's also a dog trainer and I'm making nice progress. I do have some anxiety but my mom has found that CBD treats work well for me. I have done well around other dogs, but I don't care to have them in my personal space yet, but we're working on this. I LOVE to play fetch! I've also done well with the resident kitties. I've been non-reactive to people and other dogs while on walks. I know sit/stay, down/stay, come, heel and place. I need a patient, GSD-experienced adopter. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Mac, and I'm an adorable one year old GSD who is currently at THE HUMANE SOCIETY of BOULDER VALLEY. The shelter has asked FRGSR if they could help let potential adopters know of Mac's need for a home. You see, Mac's been at the shelter since September, and he'd really love to find a home and family of his own. He can be insecure when meeting new people and dogs, but he soon become besties with those who demonstrate a gentle and slow approach. He appears inexperienced when meeting new dogs, so it's recommended that dog introductions take place at the shelter if interested parties have other dogs. HSBV will only rehome Mac to a family with children ages ten or older.  Mac has received support from the training center for help with his socialization and dog reactivity that has helped a lot! HSBV is also offering adoption support with our training center.  For more information, please contact Humane Society of Boulder Valley at boulderhumane.org.. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Padme, and I'm a beautiful  female GSD puppy with an estimated DOB of 10/1/23 who was transferred, along with my littermates and mom, Maria Menudos, after we were found fending for ourselves with nobody to care for us. Since arriving at FRGSR, we've been living in a foster home with two very attentive adults who've taken excellent care of us until we were ready to be adopted. After receiving a set of puppy vaccines, I started to have seizures, so I was checked out by a vet and thankfully, I've been seizure-free for two weeks! At this point, it's unknown whether or not I'll need to be on anti-seizure meds for the rest of my life. The vet is hopeful that I'll grow out of this and she believes I may have juvenile onset iodiopathic epilepsy. I'm looking for a home with an adopter who will continue with my care. In spite of this, I'm a happy, playful puppy.
