Meet Maisie - an adorable young small (30lbs) female dog with a heartwarming personality. Maisie is an intelligent, friendly, affectionate, and loyal dog who loves to play, but is also a couch potato and loves her cuddles and kisses. She is athletic and enjoys long walks and adventures, and she's always up for trying new things. Maisie gets along very good with other dogs and loves to play with them. A fenced yard is important. She is young, so will require a patient and understanding owner who is willing to train her and give her the time and attention that she needs. She knows sit, is house trained and crate trained. She has a recessed vulva that has been operated on and will require medication which she is doing very well with (it is to keep her from incontinence). When she gets older she may need a diaper if the meds no longer assist her. Jasper is an 8 year old puppy-at-heart who loves cuddles, walks, and chasing bugs in the backyard. He came into our lives when he was 2 years old and has moved with us from our first apartment in Virginia to our home here in Baltimore. He is great with other dogs, loves daycare, can play nicely, but also enjoy alone time. He especially loves meeting new people and absolutely thrives with pets and attention! He is easy to train - currently knows sit, stay, go to your place, paw, look at me, and mostly knows leave it. We absolutely adore our first "child" but unfortunately he is struggling to adapt to our newborn. We believe his hunting instinct is kicking in, and between newborn care and our other high needs dog, we are struggling to keep up with Jasper who is usually so well tempered. He would do great in a home without children with someone who wants a constant companion and who can provide a small amount of activity every day (eg, a walk, a few minutes of play, or daycare).

Anyone lucky enough to know me always ends up smiling when we spend time together. I love playing one-on-one with another dog, but I prefer not to be part of a large group. One of the wonderful volunteers here has taken me out a few times and says I'm a wonderful dog. Sometimes, I get a little excited when getting my harness on, but once we're out on the trails, I walk great. I love it when the wind blows and I can catch the scent of something in the breeze. I listen well and don't pull on the leash. I could walk for miles and enjoy every moment of the fresh air and smells. I'm a very sweet little dog, and I'm looking for a family who can match my energy and give me the love and training I deserve. Come meet me, and let's see if we're a perfect match!
