Story
Meet Karma! This adorable two-year-old, 43 lb. Flat-Coated Retriever/Newfoundland mix is guaranteed to steal your heart! With her beautiful brown eyes, long silky black coat with white patches, and dainty “tippy toes,” Karma turns heads everywhere she goes. Though she’s quite petite for her possible breed mix, her personality is anything but small. Originally found as a stray in North Carolina, Karma made her way to Connecticut on a private plane and was adopted shortly after arriving last January. She has spent over a year living with a family of four, including two young children. However, Karma would do best in a home without kids, as she prefers her personal space and doesn't enjoy people getting too close to her face. Karma is a playful pup who lives for her toys, daily walks, and hikes. She's also a big foodie—nothing excites her more than a good bone! While she loves to be active and social, she also has a soft, snuggly side and enjoys cuddling up on the couch for naps and pets. She’s friendly with everyone she meets, including other dogs, though due to her confident and dominant nature, she does best with more submissive canine companions. Smart and well-trained, Karma knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down, come), and she’s both house and crate trained. She’s great off-leash in the park and could happily play with other dogs all day long. Despite her love for the outdoors, she’s calm and relaxed inside the home—often choosing to nap quietly in her crate. She’s not needy or destructive, making her a wonderful low-maintenance companion. Karma would thrive with an experienced dog owner who can continue her leash training, as she can be reactive while on walks. She hasn’t been tested with cats but currently lives peacefully with two guinea pigs, whom she seems to like. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and playful pup with a big heart and even bigger personality, Karma might just be your perfect match. Her adoption fee is $400 and Karma is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in adopting this cutie, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.
