Story
Charming Chris! He is a good boy but will need some obedience training. He is a little selective of his doggie friends so he will have to meet all housemates before adoption. He was found as a stray on 7/31/2023 in Harmony Township with a collar but No ID, No Microchip. No one came looking for him. Chris is a Flat Coated Retriever about 4 years old. The people who found him named him so we kept the name of 'Chris'. He would do best in a home with older children and no cats.UPDATE: 8/11/23 Chris has been to the vet and has tested positive for heart worms. He won't be able to start treatment at the shelter due to the fact he must remain quiet and be in a quiet environment. Please consider helping Chris by finding him a home that will help him! There is a group that will help assist, in some manner, with the cost of his treatment to an approved adopter. Don't let this be the reason you don't adopt him, he still deserves a loving family! Come meet Chris at the Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH. 419-946-1747 August 7, 2024, 4:35 pm

Story
Her name is Harley. I was keeping her for a friend that left town due to her job. She recently let me know she can't take her back. I live in a mobile home and can't keep her. I have my grandbaby and another grandbaby on the way. She is great with kids. She needs to be leash trained. I have had her for over a year 1/2 and she never has had an accident in my home. She loves as much attention she can get. I have had her around a kitten she seemed to be ok at first, she barks but is fine once she gets use to it. Not too sure about other dogs she not been around any. She does bark at tall thin men that wears a hat but has never bit anyone. She has never chewed on shoes or the baby toys. I had a heart issue in December and just can't keep her. She is a great addition to any family. I'm willing to let you take her and try her out for a week and if it don't work out you can bring her back. We lover her but there is no room, and she would love to have a nice yard to run in. She is 3 to 4 years

Story
Gucci is a lab/boxer mix, he is approx 6 months old and 22 lbs, he will probably be in the 40 to 50 lb range when fully grown. He is one of a litter of puppies rescued from a known dumping ground in Houston TX. Gucci is a typical puppy, he loves to run and play in the yard. Gucci gets along with the other rescue dogs. He is not yet fully house or leash/harness trained, but he is very smart and learns very quickly. He is a little on the shy side with people but will always run up for a treat! Gucci is a very handsome boy with beautiful markings and he has a very nice disposition. He will be a great family dog and companion. He would be a great dog for hiking or the dog park. Gucci must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and he must have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Gucci is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Gucci's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Columbus, Akron, or Cinncinnati OH. Gucci is with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. Story
Peanut PeteMaleAge: 2-3 yearsWeight: 52lbsBreed: Terrier/Lab Mix Hey there, I'm Peanut Pete. I am a sassy and spunky boy who is house trained and crate trained. I get along great with kids, but I'm just not really interested in them. I am dog friendly with slow and proper introductions and time to decompress and I should be good around cats too. I am great on leash for walks with my foster mom. I love going on walks, car rides, and playing with my foster brother. He has taught me so much about how to be a dog. I think a fur sibling and a fenced in yard would be amazing but not necessary. I pretty much love nothing more than to give hugs and kisses. I'm just looking for someone to share my love with. If you are looking for a dog who is sweet and smart and an extra great cuddler, I am your guy and I cannot wait to find a family all my own who will provide me all the love I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Pete, apply to adopt him at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##1912007##
