Story
adoption donation : $750 weight 45 lbs Age: 1 year  Tippy has the distinction of being the favorite dog at the rescue and there are A LOT of dogs! Tippy is sweet, friendly and playful and very smart.  Tippy gets along with everyone he meets, he loves to play with the other dogs at the rescue, he follows his foster mom  around, tail wagging. If she calls him, tippy comes running!   Tippy absolutely loves water, he spends his summer days splashing  in and out of the plastic baby pool!     Tippy was relinquished to the rescue when his family moved away and wasn’t able to take him. He has had his vaccination and has been neutered and isa healthy and happy boy who will make a wonderful companion to the lucky family who adopts him.     Please note that Wags of Monroe county is a struggling 501(c) 3 volunteer organization where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Wags desperately need to raise funds to help the sick and older dogs at the rescue. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. For more information on adopting  Tippy or any of our other dogs  please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    August 19, 2024, 7:04 am

Story
This handsome boy is Bandit. He is 4-years-old and weighs 60 lb. We think he is a foxhound mix. Bandit is a very sweet dog who loves any kind of attention. His goofy ears are sure to catch anybody's attention. Bandit loves to put his paws up on your lap so that he can give your face kisses. He's a big dog that does not quite know his size but he's food motivated and ready to learn. Bandit is a people's dog and immediately loves anybody he meets. He would like to be in a home where he isn't alone for long hours. Although Bandit is an active boy who does like to play, he's just happy to be doing anything as long as it's with people. He gets along well with other dogs but does appear to seek out people's attention more. Bandit might be best in an adult-only home due to his size, lack of body awareness and the fact that he can be grabby when taking treats. Dog savvy teens could possibly be a good fit as well. He would do best with a physically capable handler, who can work with him so he can learn to not pull on the leash when he walks. An Easy Walk or front lead harness would help this issue. We don't know what Bandit thinks of cats, but can "cat-test" him if needed. Bandit is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Bandit, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions.

Story
Meet Daisy, a very sweet, young girl looking for a new start. She was dumped in rural central Arkansas, and has lived outdoors ever since. Assumed from her very shy disposition, she was probably abused. Now she is slow to trust, especially with men, but is preciously sweet once you earn it. She is immediately warm with children, and likes to play with the local kids. Daisy also gets along well with other dogs, but not so much with cats--she likes to chase them. Daisy is well suited for a family with children and dogs, and a yard in a peaceful setting. She is just waiting to meet you - submit an application to arrange a visitation!

Story
Meet Sable! This gorgeous gal is a 11 month old shepherd/lab mix. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and currently weighs 68 lbs. Sable is shy, docile and very sweet beyond her reserved exterior. Her mom and siblings were found under abandoned house and rescued by a neighbor when they were 12 weeks old. The neighbor has fostered all the dogs and only 3 puppies and mom are still looking for their forever home. She is currently being housetrained. We hope Sable catches your eye, she is just as stunning in person.

Story
Meet June Bug a medium sized, 47 pound foxhound mix at just around a year old. She is so darn cute with those long floppy ears, alert eyes, and a black nose. Her tri color coat adds to her appeal. And another plus: She loves everyone she meets! Foxhounds have great personalities: even-tempered, gentle, affectionate and love to much as possible. They are active and curious (as hound dogs, they love to have their nose to the ground). Oh, and do not forget their famous barks! She is comfortable around other canines, adults, kids and cats. June Bug is currently crate, house, and leash trained. Keep in mind that although housetrained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment.Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. A secure back yard would be a plus as it would give her free time to play and burn off energy. Please note that she cannot be a running companion before the age of one when her growth plate closes. At home she would benefit from lots of attention and mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. That will keep her from being bored. Are you willing to take on the task of helping her transition to a new life where she is loved and appreciated? If yes, read on.The adoption fee for Jung Bug is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am
