This is Benson, affectionately known as Benny or Bendino. Benny came to us via foster in NC. He is less than a year old, turning one approximately in Sept. 2024. He is an all around awesome dog. He LOVES people- and will greet everyone with a whole body wag. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys trips to the dog park to get as many friends to chase him as he can! He enjoys walks and would be likely to make a great running partner. Benny is fast! He loves to just run around with the wind flapping his ears and a big smile with his tongue hanging out. He enjoys playing with all types of toys. He enjoys kids. You might even catch him chasing his tail! He enjoys sunning on the deck too! Benny would be a great fit for an active family with a yard who would love to add in this cutie!

When Max was a VERY young puppy (~8 weeks), I spoke to the people that had him because he was running loose and there was no water for him on a very hot day. They said they were moving and were not taking him. I bought him ($150). He had no indoor experience and was clearly under weight. He's now 10 months and since he's had all the vaccines, flea & tick prevention, dewormed and neutered. He is house trained and eats a balanced diet daily. He is overly friendly to adults and children alike - this in particular has been difficult to train him to be respectful and no jumping. Beyond that, he is energetic and needs daily exercise. I do not have a fenced yard and it's too challenging for me and my schedule. He wants to be a lap dog and can be persuasive. However, he's not allowed on my furniture. He sleeps throughout the night and even prefers to sleep late - but I don't :) I have his vet records as well as dna record. He deserves a healthy, active and tolerant home.

Puppies 6 months and under are typically $200 and dogs from 7 months to 6 years are typically $100.00. The adoption fee may be higher or lower than stated however, and is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, medical condition and demand. All dogs 7 years and older are free under our Saving Seniors program. We frequently run discount specials and occasionally a dog will be more than the stated fee.Most cats and kittens are $35.00, however there may be instances in which the fee is higher or lower, due to age, behavior, medical condition or demand. With felines, we always have an "Adopt one, bring another one home for free" adoption special!

Story

Jack is very athletic and enjoys walks, runs and swimming in the lake in our neighborhood. I've never seen a dog that didn't like Jack. Even dogs who don't like any other dog always love Jack. Neighbors walk there dogs by our yard just so their dog can say high to Jack. We've had Jack for over 2 years and we now have a baby. The baby takes up all of our time so we are not able to exercise Jack as we used. This has led to him becoming mildly destructive, i.e. getting into the trash, chewing up our clothes and rugs so we crate him when we are not home. He is crate trained and is content to quietly sit there all day but we don't think that's the best life for him. Jack needs someone who is active and has time to spend with him. If you can do that he is a trouble-free dog. The only behavior issue we have had is food guarding when we first got him but we have worked on it and that is now extremely rare. Exercising him is the key to a happy dog. He also loves truck rides!
