Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sacramento- *special needs* Zooey is a floppy eared Frenchie who came from a backyard breeder. When she became unable to walk because of IVDD, they did nothing. This has left her with two useless back legs and is incontinent. She is super cute with her floppy ears (she looks like a mini English because of them). She gets around on her own with her front legs and will use her back legs to stand up when outside. She will need to wear diapers forever, but it is way easier than you would think. She came to us with poor skin, open wounds, and missing a lot of hair, but now she is looking great and ready for a home. She was super extra with other dogs when she first came and now lives with a gang of them but she is possessive of her crate and her food. She is good with kids (no idea about cats but she is slower than any so it wouldn't matter anyway).   She will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and ready for a life of love.   You can find out more about our available dogs and appt online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/   Adoption fee: $500 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 4, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bubba Sparx, the one-year-old bundle of joy who is as unique as his name suggests. Bubba is a special French Bulldog and Boston Terrier mix, also known as a Frenchton, and he comes with an extra special trait—he's deaf. But don't let that fool you; this charming pup is ready to steal your heart with his infectious personality. Bubba Sparx sports a mostly white coat that adds to his distinctive appearance. His love for people knows no bounds, making him a social butterfly who adores everyone he meets. Full of energy and enthusiasm, Bubba is a playful companion, always up for a game or two. He is only about a year old, so he is pretty puppy still.  Despite his hearing impairment, he's excelling in learning hand signals, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to communicate. This little guy is making great strides in his training journey. He's acing potty training and has mastered the art of being the perfect houseguest in his crate. Bubba is also in the process of conquering the challenge of using stairs, proving that he's a quick learner with a can-do attitude. Bubba Sparx's heart is set on finding a home where he can share his love for play with another dog companion. His playful spirit and happiness are truly contagious, making him an ideal addition to any dog-loving family. It's disheartening to learn that Bubba Sparx was left at a groomer's office, abandoned by owners who never returned for him. Despite this, he remains a beacon of joy, ready to bring love and laughter to a family who will appreciate his perfection. If you're seeking a loving and resilient furry friend, Bubba Sparx is the ideal match. Give this exceptional pup the chance to be cherished and adored in a forever home that recognizes his uniqueness and embraces his boundless love. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.  You can find our adoption process and apply online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/ Adoption fee $800 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 4, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hello! I’m Sasha! 👋 ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I'm a sweet, sassy girl. 💖 HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m told I am two years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog. 🐾 HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 25 pounds WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a shiny black coat with a white patch on my chest and the cutest puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen. My foster parents tell me I’m perfect, and I have to agree with them on that one! 😊 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love my kibbles, but I think I love my treats just a little more! Just know, I never turn down any food you give me . . . Or drop on the floor. 🤭 WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m a big snuggle bug! I can be a little sassy when I don’t get what I want. When the sass doesn’t work, I pull out my secret weapon… My puppy dog eyes.🥹 That usually does the trick. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: Oh, that’s an easy one… Breakfast, playtime, a mid-morning nap, then I wake up and do it all over again! Squeeze in a walk and some cuddles (obviously) and I’m the happiest pup EVER! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love ALL the toys!!! I have my favorite stuffed animal, my nylabones, and my squeaky toys. 🧸 DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know sit, wait, and I have recently learned shake, which is a favorite in my foster home. Treats always help when you want me to do tricks. I’m easily persuaded with food. 😁 WHAT SCARES YOU? Cleaning stuff! I hate when foster mama cleans. The vacuum, mop, leaf blower, spray… I must protect the household from all of it. Either that, or she can just stop cleaning! 🤔 HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I don't have any children in my foster home, but I have met one kiddo and he was a pretty neat little fella who I can hang with. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I’m not sure I even know what a cat is!😺 HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love my doggy foster sister and brother! It may take me some time to warm up to other dogs, but once I do, I love them with my whole heart. ❤️ Just set me up for success with slow introductions, please! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Anywhere my humans are! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am happy and healthy. I snore a lot, but everybody knows that about Frenchies, right? We are world-class snorers! 😬 WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? My foster mommies and doggy foster brother and sister! My foster mamas are my closest companions, but I love my foster brother and sister because we play and cuddle all day long! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? In my kennel. I will put up a fuss for a bit when left alone, but then I just go to sleep. 💤 WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? In my kennel with my own comfy puppy bed and toys. 🧸 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love going on walks and exploring the outdoors! I even know to sit so my foster mom can put the harness on before we go for our walks. I’m such a good girl, right?!? DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? If I know you’re home, I want to be out and about with you. So if I’m in my kennel, I am pretty vocal with my complaints to management. 😜 And I am protective of what’s mine, especially when it comes to food, treats, and toys. So it is important to supervise playtime if toys are involved. And please give me private space to eat my meals so I can relax and eat peacefully. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) My foster home has a doggy door and I know “Go potty outside” means it’s time to go outside to handle my business. I am very good at letting the humans know when I need to potty. ☺️ DO YOU LIKE WATER? I am not a fan of bath time, but I put up with it like a good girl. I’m not built for water activities, though, so I need to be kept safe from pools, please. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They show me patience and unconditional love and care. My doggy foster brother and sister have been so helpful, teaching me how to be a good dog and how to have fun! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I don’t really remember much about it, actually. I just know I ended up in the shelter until NorCal Bully Breed Rescue saved me and found a wonderful foster family to help me. And now I am ready for my own loving forever home. Will you please show me what happily ever after looks like and take me home with you? 👑💖 ⭐️Sasha’s ADOPTION FEE IS $1500⭐️ For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in Sasha, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Benny! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a handsome little boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am between two and three years old! WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am a perfectly proportioned 26 pounds! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I look adorable, if I do say so myself! I have a fawn-colored brindle coat with the cutest white stripe right in the middle of my forehead. My chest and the tips of my teensy little toes are also white. Oh, and don’t get me started on my eyes! I have these big, sweet eyes that will melt your heart every time you see me. SO CUTE, right?? WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I’m kinda funny about my food preferences, actually. I enjoy my kibble at meals, but I am particular about foods that most other dogs enjoy (or so I’ve heard). For example, rather than eat blueberries, I prefer to push them around with my nose and chase them when they try to escape. Foster mom says this is cute and silly… I just think these little things are more of a toy than food! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m such a sweet boy. I am coming out of my shell and learning how to be a dog now that I am safe and loved in my foster home. I am pretty mellow for a young fellow (ha! I made a rhyme!), and foster mom calls me an “old soul” because I am so laid back and well-behaved. I’m independent and can often be found hanging out by myself soaking up the sunshine in the backyard. Foster mom loves when my goofy side comes out because I make the cutest grumbly noises to express myself! When I’m getting my beloved belly rubs, I tend to get stuck on my back like a silly turtle, which brings out the aforementioned grumbly noises, which then brings out the giggles from the humans. I’m a character! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY My perfect day would DEFINITELY involve some sunshine sploots in the yard. That’s my super favorite thing! When I got my fill of the sun, or maybe just on a break from my yard time, I would come inside for some belly rubs from my humans. And I would really like to take a car ride on this perfect day too! Oh my goodness, this sounds like an AMAZING day, doesn’t it? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I’m starting to learn how much fun toys can be! My favorites are the soft ones that have a crinkly sound when I bite them. That’s the best! I also love to chew on Nylabones or play tug with my humans! Oh, and I am REALLY good about bringing the ball back when you throw it for me. I love to make my foster mom proud when I bring the ball back! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? If a treat is involved, I will give you a fabulous “sit.” And I am SUCH a good boy about waiting patiently when it is time for a walk. That’s hard because I love going on a walk SO much! I’m also very responsive to “no!” I’m a good boy, so I don’t hear that one all that often, but if I do, I will stop whatever it is right away. WHAT SCARES YOU? Am I scared of the vacuum? I don’t know if I’d call it fear… I am just convinced that it is here to destroy the house and hurt my foster mom. So I make my presence known with a few well-timed grumbly noises to make sure that the vacuum knows I’m not going to put up with any of its shenanigans. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have! There’s a three-year old girl that comes over to the house pretty regularly! I like her a lot, but I am still learning that it’s maybe not the best idea to jump up on little humans. I’m just trying to show her I love her, but foster mom is working on teaching me good manners. I am a good boy, so I am doing my best to keep all four paws on the floor. DO YOU LIKE CATS? Can’t say I have an opinion one way or another, as I’ve never come across one. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I really like other dogs! Foster mom thinks I would thrive in a household with a doggy companion so I can learn how to play and run around. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Easy question… I would be splooting in the sun or getting belly rubs from my human. Oh, maybe I could get belly rubs from my human while I’m in the sun?! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? When I first came to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue, I had a big growth in my neck. But I had surgery to remove what was identified as an impacted salivary gland. With that gone, the doctors don’t expect any further issues with that! Yay! I also had surgery to help me breathe better and now I’ve got a whole new lease on life. I’m healthy and happy and ready to enjoy the rest of my life! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and dad, and there are three resident dogs here too! I am most attached to my foster mom, since she’s the one who gives me treats and plays with me. She makes me happy, and I know she loves me very much. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am very comfortable in my cozy crate. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. In fact, I go in there all by myself without being asked most of the time! Have I mentioned I’m a good boy? DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Oh, I really love walks! I have just started going out to explore now that I have healed up from my surgeries and I am quickly learning how to have good leash manners. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? When I am left alone in my crate during the day, I make my feelings known by grumbling a bit, but then I settle down fairly quickly. That seems pretty reasonable to me, and I’m not sure I would call it a “not so great” habit. But foster mom says that’s all she can think of that is maybe less than perfect about me, so that’s fine. Other than that, I am just the BEST boy! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes! I am doing so well with going potty outside! I go straight to the slider when I need to potty. I haven’t had an accident in the house in a couple months! Foster mom is so proud of me, and I am pretty darn proud too! Of course, when I come to your house, you’ll need to show me where to go and make sure you are patient and consistent with me as I learn a new routine in a new space. But I will figure it out quickly because I am a very good boy! DO YOU LIKE WATER? With my Frenchie face and stocky body, I am just not built for water activities. Please keep me safe from pools or other bodies of water! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They love me, give me belly rubs (and help me roll over when I’ve gotten stuck in the upside-down turtle position!), let me lounge in the sun when I want to, feed me, and keep me safe. They are teaching me how to enjoy doing dog things and I’m finding out life is pretty fun! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? Y’know, I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I found myself in the shelter all of a sudden and I had a big “thing” on my neck that made people concerned for my health, as I mentioned above. Thankfully, NorCal Bully Breed Rescue found out about me, rescued me from that place, and got me the medical attention that I needed. And that’s when my real life, my BEST life, started. I’m ready for all that the future holds for me. And the first thing I need is to find someone that will take me home and love me forever. Will you please show me what that kind of love feels like? **BENNY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $1,500** For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in BENNY, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
Potter is a special needs pup with hydrocephalus; he needs a family that will keep his head safe and be ok with his developmental delays. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? My name is Potter, Hydrocephalus Superhero. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a little boy. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born around January 28, 2023. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 18lbs WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a cute, little guy! I’m white and brindle piebald, whatever piebald means. I have a little arrow marking on my forehead and white frosting on my ears. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like moist kibble and dog-friendly treats. I’m not too sure about the carrots or apples that my foster mom offers me, but if you gave me some chicken or other tasty dog-friendly food from your plate, I would probably gobble it up! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Well, I’m not sure if you know, but I’m kind of a big deal! And all the things that make me different are the same things that make me special. I’m sweet and spunky and living in the moment is my style. I am playful and love to wrestle and chew on my foster brother Tater. I’ve been told I can be kinda demanding; sometimes, I fuss and bark to let you know I want attention, food, or need to go potty. Sometimes, I howl when I’m in my carrier or crate because I want out! But I settle down easily. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with a “good morning, Potter” and scratchies from my foster mom. Then I do a big stretch, go potty, and get ready for breakfast. Sometimes, I go back to sleep for a bit afterward. Once I’m up, I’m ready to play, explore, and find something to chew on like my Benebone. I eat lunch and nap. I spend time chilling, playing tug-o-war, maybe have another nap, and more exploring. I take my medication at 7:00 p.m. sharp and start my bedtime routine of chewing a yak stick, and then snuggle and sleep. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything to tug-o-war and my yak stick. If you let me, I will nibble your fingers and toes. Sometimes I wrestle the dog bed and drag it as far as I can! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? No, but I know my name and I come when being called. I’m not sure about learning more. WHAT SCARES YOU? Sometimes loud noises and sudden overhead movement can be scary. I’m little, so people standing over me make me cower or try to get away. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yes, but because I can’t play rough and need to be safe guarded, it’s best if I am around older kids that understand. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I don’t think I’ve met a cat, so I am not sure. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I LOVE other dogs. They are fun, but being around gentle dogs that are not too big, who won’t knock me over, or squish me, is safer. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Hanging out with my person or forever family doing whatever they’re doing. I’m easy going. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I was born with Hydrocephalus. I have no idea what that is, but like I said, I’m a superhero and I’m gonna live every day to the fullest. Hydro makes me wobble around, unsteady on my feet, and fall over, but it doesn’t slow me down or stop me from having fun! Humans must be careful with me and ensure my head is protected as much as possible. Other than that, I’m great! Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my foster brother. I love them both! I really like my foster brother because he lets me chew on him. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I stay in my very own X-pen with toys and a fluffy bed to lounge on, access to my food and water, and plenty of room to potty if I need to. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep on my comfy bed in my very own penned area – you know, superhero style. Sometimes, I fall asleep with my foster mom and magically wake up in my bed. I think it must be one of my superpowers. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? The most important thing for me with walks is that I won’t be going on any walks on the hard pavement. I’ll probably be more of a explore and stumble around on the soft grass kind of guy…. In case I fall over. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Um, I like to bark demands and do mischievous stuff, like tear up my potty pads when bored… I don’t think that is so bad. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) No, I go potty on potty pads and sometimes I just go wherever I happen to be. I might be able to be potty-trained, but you’ll have to be very patient with me. DO YOU LIKE WATER? Only to drink and for bathing. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they protect me, are patient and kind, play with me, and love me. I’m living the dream. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was born different, so some nice ladies rescued me and brought me from far away to NorCal. Now, I live in a wonderful foster home and my future is wide open… Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? If you’d like to have a superhero in your life, I am SO ready to love you forever! **Potter's adoption fee is $1,000.00** If you are interested in adopting Potter, please jump on our website and read why about the adoption fees for special breeds BEFORE filling out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Zane!   ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a handsome little man!   HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am about 4 years old.   WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog.   HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am a lean 26 pounds!   WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a soft, white coat with black spots, like an adorable baby cow!   WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I’m a fan of my kibble, and I like strawberries but not carrots. I love to try ALL the dog-friendly foods that anyone wants to give me!   WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a sweet ball of energy! I can be such a goofball when I find a toy and I make others chase me to play tag! And once I get all my wiggles out, I love to cuddle next to the humans.   DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY My perfect day would include some sunshine, playing with my friends, going for a walk to explore new places, and getting cuddles from my humans.   WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh, I love ALL the toys! My current favorite is a flirt pole, which I’m pretty good at catching quickly and then playing tug!   DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I’m pretty good at Sit, but my specialty is the high jump over a 40” fence.   WHAT SCARES YOU? I haven’t found any fears yet. Not even with the fireworks going off in the neighborhood!   HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I had 6- and 9-year old kids come visit me, and we all loved each other. I can be pretty energetic, though, so I should probably stick to kids I can’t accidentally knock over.   DO YOU LIKE CATS? I don’t live with any cats, but when we go for walks, there are many neighborhood cats along the way and I have no reaction to them.   HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I really like other dogs! Foster mom thinks I would thrive in a household with a doggy companion to play chase and tug!   IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would be in Paris! One, because I’m French (duh!) but also because I should be competing in the Olympics. Bring on the high jump competition!   HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a pretty healthy guy! I like to stay active and fit!   WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and grandma, plus three other Frenchie fosters and one weird looking resident dog with a mohawk. I love to follow my foster mom everywhere she goes, because I have a bad case of FOMO. But then I also love my foster brother, Billy, because we play tag all over the yard. And my other foster brother, Peru, will play keep away with me. Too many to choose a favorite…   WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang out in my crate.   WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate too.   DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love going for walks and I am pretty amazing on leash. I don’t tug at all!   DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I’m not the biggest fan of my crate because I have a little separation anxiety. But I’ve only been here for a couple weeks, and I’m doing better each day as I feel more comfortable in my space. My foster mom and I disagree on whether my high jumping skills are a “bad habit” or “untapped talent.”   ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am pretty good about going through the doggy door, though I have had a few accidents. I am new here and still getting my bearings, so foster mom knows to be patient with me and I’ll figure it out.   DO YOU LIKE WATER? Sometimes I try to bite at the hose while foster mom is watering the lawn. And I don’t fight bath time! But I’m a Frenchie and we are not built for water activities, so I need to be kept safe from pools or other bodies of water, please.   WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that I have humans to give me cuddles and also other dogs to play with. I really love being with others.   WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? A local shelter took me in as a stray and removed a small abscess from my neck. The shelter contacted NorCal Bully Breed Rescue because they knew they would take good care of me and find me the best home. And now I am excited to find a family to love me forever. Will you please take me home? **ZANE’S ADOPTION FEE IS $1,500** For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in ZANE, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I am Maddie! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a lovely little lady. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m about one and a half years old as of August 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am 18 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a chocolate coat with tan marks, and the cutest pouty lip ever! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Everything! I am not a picky eater, but they do like to make sure I eat healthy! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am pretty quiet and shy at first. I like to explore my surroundings and I feel safer with my humans near. Super friendly with anyone I meet! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I start with a biiiig stretch! Then I eat, play, sleep, repeat! I love to cuddle next to humans and that makes any day perfect! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love the Bene bones chews and soft squeak toys! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know sit! I also know to go to my crate when it’s time to eat! I’ll sit there and wait nicely! WHAT SCARES YOU? Nothing yet! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I had a great time with a couple small humans that are eight and 10 years old! They held me and I loved the cuddles! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven’t met one yet, but I know the squirrels don’t bother me. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I live with a few other foster pups and so far we all get along well, unless they look at my food, so I’m working on that last life trauma in group therapy... IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Cuddling next to my humans while sunbathing! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Pretty great now that the rescue helped me with some temporary medical issues. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? My foster mom and foster granny are the humans. And there are several other foster dogs I get to play with. My favorite is my foster mom because she holds me and squeezes me and gives me tons of cuddles! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I have a crate to keep me safe and warm, or in the penthouse suite (a large room with a clear pen to play in) WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Also in my crate DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do! I am still practicing, there’s so much to see and smell! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Me? Bad habits? Is it really a “bad habit” if I love my food so much I don’t want to share? ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes I am! I easily go through the doggie door when I need to go! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I like to drink it, I have no interest in playing in it. And I won’t fuss if I’m bathing in it. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They make me feel loved with lots of attention and they keep me safe and healthy. I love having a huge yard to play in! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I really don’t remember much about my life before I was saved by NorCal Bully Breed Rescue. I have my whole fabulous life ahead of me and there’s no looking back now. I am ready for my forever family to bring me home! Maybe my forever could be with you? **THE ADOPTION FEE FOR MADDIE IS $1,000** For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in MADDIE, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding For more information on what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I am Poppy! ARE YOU A GIRL OR BOY? I am a girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am around 1.5 years old as of summer 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am a fit and fun 28 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a stocky little nugget with a fawn coat plus a lilac muzzle and fancy eyeliner. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Oh, I eat just about EVERYTHING! But foster mom says I should stick to my kibble to keep my girlish figure. I love to snack on watermelon, blueberries and chicken, too! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a gentle, playful lady. I like to wrestle with other dogs and chase things that squeak. I am a gold star napper and supervisor of my foster humans big and small. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I get released from my kennel and must get scratches before I go out to potty. Breakfast and a perimeter check of the yard, and then I go wake up the small humans with kisses and wiggles. After all that hard work it is time to nap. I supervise every move my foster mom makes while working from home. I know she takes a few unsanctioned breaks, but she bought my silence with letting me sleep under her feet all day. We all eat dinner, and I work on my leash manners before retiring to bed for the night. My favorite days are spent at the beach. I don't like the water, but I love the cool air and sunshine and smells. Boy, that sounds like a perfect day, doesn’t it? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Any toy that my foster sister is trying to play with. If they squeak or crinkle, it is even better! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Nothing fancy, but I have learned the basics pretty quickly. WHAT SCARES YOU? The broom and mop are definitely mortal enemies. Can you blame me, though? And I’m not a fan of being alone and raised voices. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes! And I haven't met a medium, small, or tiny human I dislike yet. Babies? Yes, I will lick your toes and nap near you. Toddlers? Heck yeah, I will clean up all the peas and noodles you drop on the floor and supervise the big humans while they chase you. Medium humans? Enh, they are pretty boring unless they want to pet me or let me supervise them riding bikes and scooters. So far, I have never jumped up on a kiddo of any size. I am a very good girl! DO YOU LIKE CATS? “Like” is a strong word. I don't chase the cats or the chickens. I tolerate them when the cats come and lay on me or groom me, but I don't particularly want to play with them. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? Yes, please!! I will take ALL the dogs ALL the time! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would prefer to be as close as physically possible to a human or another dog at all times. Second best is in the sunshine somewhere napping with a cool breeze, and third is on a patio at a cafe being super cute under the table and getting all the attention from everyone around… because how can you not want to love this face!?! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am the picture of health. I am active, strong and smart. My heart, teeth, joints and lungs all get gold stars. My foster mom thinks my satellite ears may be broken sometimes, but the truth is that I am a Frenchie and I choose when I want to use them. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME? WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with two adults and two medium-sized humans (9- and 11-year old boys). Lots of other kids come over for sleepovers and playtime regularly, which I LOVE! The non-human residents include an 8-year old Bull Mastiff, a 4-year old Frenchie, a 7-year old cat, a 9-year old tortoise, six chickens, and even some fish! In my hierarchy of besties, Foster Mom is my favorite all around with Tuesday, the Frenchie, being my second favorite because we love to get into lots of shenanigans. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? In my kennel or in the shaded dog run. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? During the day? EVERYWHERE! At night, I sleep in my kennel. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I am getting really good at walking on a leash and I just love getting out to explore the world. I prefer my leash be on a harnes over my shoulders and not attached to my collar. DO YOU HAVE ANY NOT SO GREAT HABBITS WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I get really anxious when my foster mom leaves me with the spare human. I am working on my confidence, but I need you to be patient with me while I adjust to your home and your routine. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE? Yes! I have only had one accident in my kennel and I learned quickly that potty belongs outside. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I like to drink water, but that’s about where my affection for it ends. I had mange when I was rescued, so I have had more baths than I would wish on any dog in a life time. I tolerate them, but I am pretty sure they are some sort of torture ritual. I don't know why the humans subject themselves to showers every day. I supervise so I know they are safe from the water! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? There is always someone to play with or cuddle with. Foster Mom works from home. I have also been shown a lot of patience and kindness. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGH TO NOR CALL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I don’t remember exactly what happened, but I ended up at a shelter with some uncomfortable mange and needed help. NorCal Bully Breed Rescue saved me from the shelter, brought me to my foster home, where I recovered from my skin condition, and now I am ready to meet my forever family. I would really love to meet you and come home with you forever! **THE ADOPTION FEE FOR POPPY IS $1,500.** For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in POPPY, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Tootsie Roll, an adorable English Bulldog with a heart as sweet as her name. Tootsie Roll is a special pup, as she has Spina Bifida, a condition that affects her bladder and bowel control. Despite this, Tootsie Roll walks just fine, radiating joy with every step. To manage her incontinence, Tootsie Roll wears a diaper, a routine that, for those unfamiliar, is not as daunting as it may seem. It requires less than half an hour of care each day, and the more time without a diaper, the better off she is. This lovable Bulldog is, otherwise, a "normal" English Bulldog, complete with the charming quirks that make the breed so beloved. Tootsie Roll isn't a fan of hot weather, but the joys of diapers mean that outings are more flexible, especially during hot or rainy days. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to her condition, Tootsie Roll's resilience shone through, and she is now ready to bring joy to a loving home. This happy and social girl adores attention, playtime, and, yes, she snores loud! Tootsie Roll would thrive in a home with another dog companion, relishing in playful interactions. However, humans willing to engage in tug-of-war and toss games will also find her to be the perfect playmate. Caring for a dog with Spina Bifida involves managing skin care and bowel and bladder functions, but this can be navigated through various approaches. Tootsie Roll's foster parent has found success by using a pen at night and during work hours to give her diaper-free time. For those interested in welcoming Tootsie Roll into their lives, the adoption process is conveniently available online at http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/. The adoption fee of $500 covers her spaying, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. This fee is waived for a home with a human also dealing with Spina Bifida, recognizing the unique connection that can be formed. To gain insights into caring for a dog with Spina Bifida, there's a helpful Facebook group dedicated to English Bulldogs with the condition. Additionally, for information on bowel management, the website https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/bowel-management-incontinent-pets/ can be a valuable resource. Tootsie Roll is more than a pet; she's a testament to resilience and the capacity for love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special Bulldog, she is eagerly waiting for her perfect forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 4, 2024, 12:23 am
